I would just go ahead and get a Rock Island for about the same money. I have had a Rock Island and know many other folks who own or have owned one and they are great 1911's. Armscor have been producing guns in the Philippines since 1952.

My bear spray dispenses .000 buck in 410 out the top and .45 Long colt out the bottom. And the other is for two legged bears who might get any ideas.

This is the hitch. Swapping out the chambered barrel isn't a big deal, assuming you swap springs too. The firing/feed/extraction mechanism won't work switching from centerfire to rimfire.
Not to mention the .25 is a rimless cartidge and the .22 is rimmed.

20 semi would be my choice. If she's confident with the other guns (rifle/handgun) then by all means, let her try the 12. If she's skittish about trying it, then get her a lesson with a pro. I was very happy with an intro lesson fromTerry Hettrick @ the Nashville Gun Club off of Briley. My wife will be taking her first lesson with him in a few weeks. He uses a well worn in 20ga semi for his students.
I may just go the Lesson route with her to start. She gets a little intimidated when I try and teach her but thats probably due to me being a bad teacher. LOL. For some reason I expect everyone to be able to take to new things as easily as I do. Very bad habbit on my part.

My wife has expressed and interest in Skeet shooting but has never handled a shotgun before. The only shotgun I have is a sawed off side by side coach gun in 12 gauge. I have never shot skeet before and need advise as to the best shotgun for her to start on, She is a petite woman standing 5'4" and 120lbs so I do not want anything she cannot handle but that would still be a good fit for her in the long run. Any advise on gauge and type shotgun would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I recently bought a Springfield Micro GI 1911 from one of my favorite gun shops. Although it is a good package for concealed carry, the trigger leaves a little to be desired. I would like to find a reliable gun smith in Nashville to do a trigger job on it. Nothing too fancy. Just like to get the trigger upgraded and have the action smoothed out to about 4 or 5 lbs. Any recommondations?

My home made Zombie eliminator. It's a Marlin model 765 in a modified Bullpup stock. Light weight, fits high cap mags, 40mm red dot optics for quick targeting and has a carry handle so you have a fee hand to carry your cooler of beer. Best part is it cost less than $300 to build.

I'm glad to here some good comments on these little pistols. My wife has a hard time operating handguns and I found that the Walther P-22 was a pistol she could operate effectively. It's nice to know she has another choice.
I had the Walther P-22 for my wife also and she has Carpal Tunnel so operating the slide was almost impossible for her on most guns including the P-22. I sold her Walther and got her the Beretta Tomcat (same as the Bobcat only in .32) and she loves it. Plus its a larger round for better stopping power. She loves the tilt up barrel and easy mag release. I would definately buy the Beretta over the Taurus. I had the slide come off a Taurus while firing one day and it left a hell of a bruise on my chin.

Todays carry is a Dirk Pinkerton Dewclaw and a Boker Gentlemans Scalpel. The Smith and Wesson tactical pen is also an EDC.

Just got this in the other day and wanted to give a little review of it, It is the Dirk Pinkerton Dewclaw by Meyerco. Total length of the knife is 2.5" and has a very interesting claw shape. It is designed to be used as a neck knife of keychain knife. I added the Monkey Fist lanyard to it for easy access. It is a well made knife made from AUS6 steel with a very sharp edge and point. I purchased this as a last ditch weapon for self defense. Overall I am quite pleased with the blade. With the atteched lanyard it can be held between the index and ring finger for slashing with the Monkey fist pretruding from the bottom of the fist so it can be used as a blunt instument with a back hand swing. Or it can be held like a scaplel for delicate cuts. It sells around the web for between $10 and $20 depending on the site, I picked mine up for $14.95 shipped. I usually carry it in the watch pocket of my jeans or in a front pocket with the Monkey fist exposed for quick draw. It is a nice little knife for the money and I am sure if needed it would be very useful in getting an attacker off you.

And this is exactly why I only carry fixed blade knives with a blade shorter than 4 inches. No muss, No fuss. And its always open.

I carry fixed blades for work and EDC person use. I know the value of a good folder but choose to trust the reliability of a full tang small fixed blade knife for every day cutting task and self defense. As I am not allowed to carry a firearm at work and my duties require me to to drive all over west TN in the wee hours of the night, a good quality knife and a Smith & Wesson tactical pen are my only line of defense. I have had folding knives close on my fingers before and lets face it, a well made fixed blade knife with a good handle thats easy to grip is going to be the best to penitrate outer wear and get to the soft tissue. Now this is just my opinion but when it is my life on the line, my opinion is the only one that matters. As for my knife of choice, it is Boker.

Have you considered the Boker Plus Rambler. I have one and they are great little EDC knives at a really affordable price.

At work I carry a Boker Plus Rhino Stag. I love the thickness and the curved blade. It also has the leather sheath with a nice boot clip so I can carry it on the belt or clipped inside to a pocket. In my line of work I usually only have one hand and with the fixed blade it is just easier to work with.
When not at work I rotate between my other Boker fixed blade knives. I have the Arbolito Stag Caper, The larger Arbolito Corzo Stag Caper, a Rambler,and the Bone handle Camper.

I don't think I would trade for the Sheild. I did have a P238 and loved it as a carry gun. The only reason I sold it was I purchased a Kinber Solo 9mm and it was about the same size so the P238 just sat in the safe. Didn't need a .380 when I could carry a 9mm just as easily.

Got the stock in today and started modifying it. Need to trim a little more to get the barrel to fit. Also looks like I'll need to remove and disable to LSHO as its almost impossible to access through the magazine well. I think I'm going to paint it too. Haven't decided on finish yet. Either flat black or maybe desert camo. Will post picks as soon as its finished.

I saw the 10/22 stock but I couldn't find a 10/22 on the cheap. Plus I already have the Ruger SR22 rifle so I wanted this to be different. Besides, the Marlin brand new at Academy Sports was only $129.

Got the bug to built a bull pup style .22lr . Just purchased a new Marlin 795 and going to mate it to a Muzzelite M70 stock. I've seen a few post on the web about folks who've modified these to work with the 795. Wanted to see if anyone here had tried it?

Under tennessee's Stand Your ground Law, the guy qualifies as a "resident" due to the home owner requesting that he "Watch" the home while he and his family was away. It can be argued that he was an invited guest at the home and therefor allowed to use his weapon to prevent the BG from committing a felony.See section 1 (a) (3).
