  1. He is one of the nicest guys I call a friend.
  2. Thanks for this, RJ mentioned to me once that his son was going to start making them, but I was not aware he had already, I will now order at least 2!
  3. Just a preference for the Hollow handle, I have bought several cheap ones in the past as I always liked the knife since Rambo had one. If you read reviews on the Martin knifes, there are no recorded occasions where the blade separated from the handle and folks put these knifes through hell. As far as my grail RJ Martin knife, I would rather have that one than the whole collection of Chris Reeve knives I can assure you that his version will be every bit as strong as Chris's one piece. What I wish CRK would do is make a one piece survival knife with a 10 inch blade, I would be all over that MAV what is the largest blade that they make the one piece? I think you have most of the collection
  4. The RJ Martin Blackbird is my Grail Rambo Knife and it may be a while before I get one but here is a very good one for the money, I will be ordering one very soon, this is a company out of Texas who make some of the best custom survival knives in the country I am told http://www.martinknives.com/HollowHandleSurvival.html
  5. I have been carrying this Q36 for the last few weeks and it is by far my absolute favorite knife. I have recently seen some knives just like mine sell on the aftermarket for $2500.00 that's right two thousand and five hundred dollars, RJ's work is perfection and as he is a one man shop his aftermarket prices have went threw the roof lately The only problem I have with my Q36 if you call it a problem, is like all of his knives they are scary sharp, I mean I have cut myself without knowing it so extra care is used when flipping or using it To let you all know just how much I love this knife, I have been offered nearly $1800.00 more than I paid for it and will not sell it RJ made a line of survival knives and one offered that I recently found out about is the blackbird, here is a picture These knives have a 10 inch blade and I am dying to get one I am trying to work out a deal on one, I will keep you all updated if I get one
  6. Kirby is a true gentleman and he is letting me get two knives from him when my name comes up, they will both be awesome!
  7. At least they spelled the name right, I am shocked they did that. Your friend has great intentions obviously but when he buys this crap he is supporting the idiots that like to rip off knife makers all over the world, please let him know this
  8. Zero Tolerance in that price range, however f you want to spend a little more, contact Heather at Chris Reeves knifes. They have been known to give discounts for such rare occasions and will engrave it, most definitely worth a shot anyone certainly would love a Sebenza
  9. I agree with Oh Shoot on this one Erik, You will have better luck getting him a production knife and getting it engraved as any decent custom knife will have a wait unless you pay a serious amount of money to jump up in the line
  10. You would be surprised at how many true custom makers will not build a 1911 out of stainless steel, carbon steel for many are the Real 1911
  11. Here is a smaller one that is very nice as well
  12. Yes they are a little large, but I like that size in a folder, the 5th one from the top immediately caught my eye, I may go for one like that I have two years to get the funds together and let him know what I want so I will have him make a very special one for me
  13. I know many of you have never heard of Kirby, I asked him to email me some pictures of his knives so I can get an idea of exactly what I want when my name comes up in his waiting list. Trust me this will not be an easy decision, this guy is one of the best knife makers in the world, Here are just a few pictures that he sent me of his work,
  14. On all of my recurved blades, no matter what steel I use my Spyderco Sharpmaker it sharpens S30V with no problems at all
  15. Yes, he is a cool dude, I talked to him for about 30 minutes about knives if he lived here in Tennessee instead of Canada, he and I would hang out
  16. Yes, I handled one of his fully custom made Snap models and I was quite impressed. The wait that I am in for will give me plenty of time to let him know exactly how I want it
  17. I have been following this knife maker for the last few years, so I contacted Kirby who is an awesome knife maker and a gentleman to boot. I am now on his 2 year waiting list for one of his Snap flippers and let me tell you all this will be well worth the wait! With any luck I may get moved up the list but this will be a very special knife that I am extremely excited about Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk now Free
  18. Yes she was there, not sure about their own business but I met her in the parking lot before she entered the store where they were filming
  19. Well we are in Baton Rouge visiting some family so I decide to check out Red Jacket, I must say that these are some of the friendliest people that I have ever ran into. They were in the middle of filming, so we stayed out in front of the shop and met Will's daughter Stephanie and got a picture with Joe who is a really cool guy, so here is my ugly mug with my daughter with Joe who graciously posed for a picture with us.
  20. They are very nice knives indeed, congrats!
  21. Chris, He is building a liner lock carbon fiber Blast 2, for me sometime next year, will let you know when I get it!
