I wouldn't expect top quality in a rifle for under $400.00, but are they decent for the money?
-
subscribe to guntests, http://www.gun-tests.com/ that is truly a non biased magazine, while i agree with you 100%, inter ordinance is NOT one of Guns and ammo magazines paid advertisers, that is why i believe the review of this rifle,

This http://ioinc.us/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=IO&Product_Code=ROMA0006&Category_Code=Featured+Items was reviewed in Guns and Ammo, and they really liked it, I am thinking of getting one,

I am with Fred -
Congrats, Welcome to the world of High End 1911's, you will love that pistol, let us know how it shoots
-
The only time i have ever seen anything like that, it has came from sub 4 inch Barrelled 1911's, while I am no gunsmith, I know a few good ones that will not even work on a 1911 with less than a 4 inch barrel, while they are convenient to carry,Smaller, light weight, there simply is not enough room for the slide to travel as far as it was designed to, I wish you the best of luck with it,

I have a close friend whom is a DEA agent, has been for several years, he convinced me to go with Rock River, the Government model I own is the civillian version of what he carries, I could not be happier with the fit finish, accuracy and build quality, I have turned on 3 of my friends to RRA AR's after they shot mine, and all of us could not be happier.
-
WOW you must have had some extremely bad experiences, all of my 1911's have happily fed hollowpoints, I guess if my only experience with 1911's was misfeeding of hollowpoints, i would have went to Glock like you, it is a shame that you havent had one that runs right, Im pretty sure that you would love it.

You are going to love that gun, that is the best deal I have ever heard anyone getting a High end 1911 for, rest assured once you receive your Proffessional you will forget all about that Kimber and never look back. Congratulations on moving up the ladder
-
I have a 45ACP service model, I do not carry it as all I carry are 1911's, but mine has been flawless and is a perfect companion with a Surefire x200 as a bedside gun in my gun vault,
-
I have not, but people I know have been, and have also been to Thunder Ranch Oregon, and from what I hear it (T/R) is superior and well worth the money, that is where I am planning to go later next year,
-
I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy and healthy Thanksgiving, unfortunately i am spending mine in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico! but thats how I pay my bills.
-
Agreed, My friend if you are searching for a gun manufacturer that has never had any problems on any parts or potential failures, I truly hope you can, good luck!!!
-
Verbal, You have to take the internet with a grain of salt, there are soo many people posting on that site that are full of crap. Several people post things on there on every manufacturer that is Bull, alot of the times they havent ever handled or seen in person what they are complaining about, I believe what I see and sometimes what I see pictures of, alot of people have their own agenda of things, so my defense here, is just that I spent several years researching Ed Brown products, not through the internet but at the range, gun shops and talking to owners face to face before I decided to invest that much money in a handgun, and I am the first person who would complain to everyone who would listen, there are several people who just because they spent $2000.00 or more on a handgun they will accept flaws in cosmetics, function and accuracy just to convince themselfs they did not make a mistake in purchasing one, I am not that way, while my handguns are expensive, if they were not perfect, I would not keep them I may be the only person whom visits this forum who actually has 2 of these guns( im not sure), so I defend them because they are in my case perfect, and I share that with the people of this forum who are looking into purchasing an expensive 1911 well worth the money, Best Regards,
-
Clint Smith also says that, and I couldnt agree more,

Ok out of about I dont know 350,000 safeties EB sells many, many safeties. Statistically speaking there will be failures of all parts made for anything. The thing here is that you call it a failure, a failure is when the part doesnt work, that was not the case, the safety still functioned,I know several people who own these safties and have never seen a problem including myself, this happens with all manufactures, you had to dig to find that thread I imagine, because I have never seen this, and since it was in 2005, 3 years to go buy for not having anymore problems, says alot, you should check around and see exactly how many safeties are sold and how many have problems, I believe that would instill faith in anyone wishing to purchase an Ed Brown safety or any other part
-
Verbal, If you call Kimber, speak with Dennis in the custom shop, he is the only one there who will take care of problems for you if you respectfully talk to him, I would not be surprised if they wouldnt install a new trigger for you, he has helped several people I know,
-
Sorry to disagree, but this is how one should look, I do own this one, I am just not a good Photographer! for better pictures go here http://www.edbrown.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/00255.1.323294088312553532 Mine has a naked slide. in my opinion this is the absolute best representation of John Moses Brownings masterpiece,
-
Very nice collection:)
-
Verbal, While I agree with you that on a government model 1911, a Bobtail ruins the looks,(as do mag wells, Light rails, front cocking serrations)(all my opinion) I love them on a commander 1911, besides the fact that they are amazing for concealed carry, I actually shoot them better, I was not fond of the look of them before I actually shot one, While I wil never Bobtail one of my government model pistols, every commander that I will own will have one, different strokes for different folks, but you should honestly handle and shoot one if you have not before ruling them out in your future,
-
With the recent threads of 1911 slides cracking, I decided to look around to see if any forged Slides had this problem,I was very surprised to find this http://www.thegunzone.com/sigp229-fracture.html Im not sure if this ever happened to an american made SIG or not,

Quickest HCP renewal I've ever had
willis68 replied to hso's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yes, that is true, I didnt think about that as a new resident the procedures are different, as far as the knives, I use to be into Balisongs and Microtechs, while I would never need to carry them for defense, it was just nice to use them as a pocket knife legally, -
Quickest HCP renewal I've ever had
willis68 replied to hso's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I moved here from Florida, I had a Florida permit, When I applied for my Tennesse permit, I went through the same process to obtain my Tennessee permit, that a Resident of Tennessee would have to go through to renew theirs, I had to surrender my Florida permit,(I was worried that I would not be able to carry) I was very relluctant to give up my permit, but I was given a receipt(which was just as good as a permit)to carry in my wallet until it arrived, the permit came in 14 buisness days, which was VERY quick, Florida took me 85 days, anyway I was told then that your receipt would be good while you wait for your permit, be that as it may I would still not let it lapse, as you said you can apply 6 months before it expires that is ample time for anyone to get it done, Tennessee really seems on the ball with their handgun permits, I just wish it was like Florida where they are considered Concealed Weapon permits, which allows you to carry automatic knives, I will never understand why some states will let me carry a 44Magnum concealed, but not allow me to carry an automatic knife?
