  1. You are absolutely correct,
  2. Verbal, If you look closely on one of the frames they have CCA before the serial number,But then again Nighthawk does that and does not make theirs, I am not sure either but it appears that they manufacture them I am waiting to see if they are forged
  3. Kart barrels are the most accurate made for the 1911, They use these and Ed brown and STI small parts, the slide and frame are the only parts that they make, that is my understanding anyway, I am strongly considering trading in a Les Baer pistol to own one of these, they appear to be first rate custom 1911's
  4. Warranties on High End 1911's are virtually non existent, that does not mean that they do not stand up and support their products, a friend of mine bought a second hand Ed Brown, that had been Tweeked by an incompetent gunsmith, the sights were ruined and POI, POA were non existent, the Bluing on the pistol wes scratched up and the pistol looked like crap, he sent the pistol to them paid for shipping, and 3 weeks later he received his Executive Elite on his door step, in excellent condition, the gun looked and cycled perfect and the pistol was re blued and sighted in, it was virtually brand new, I will take this NO warranty service anytime, Nighthawk, Wilson, Les Baer, Brown all will stand behind their products, I have been fortunate enough to not need any work
  5. In all honesty I agree they are good guns, they are just uglier than sin,
  6. Ah come on, thats not saying much
  7. Does the Government require you to keep NFA items in a seperate safe than regular firearms???

    New Plinker

Those are extremely fun to shoot, enjoy!!
  9. Awesome Colt 1911, Hang on to it, Cherish it
  10. John Harrison does awesome work indeed, I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago he is truly a gifted gentleman
  11. Was it a real 1911 Wilson (all steel) or on of the KZ models, a hybrid that I have no idea why Wilson came out with it?
  12. Please PM me the price for this same gun, with the following Ed Brown Beavertail, naked slide, 25LPI checkering on the front strap and Mainspring housing, Yellow rear and green front Novak Sites, single side safety
  13. Well my insurance companies sure do put stock in fire ratings, I have a few different policies on my firearms and each one of them gave me a substantial discount when they researched and inspected my gun safe,
  14. I have had one of these for going on 2 years now, it is the best safe out there for the money, the fire rating and build quality are astonishing, they offer a layaway service as well, http://www.patriotsafe.com/gun-safes-30wide.html
  15. Very nice guns that you guys make, One of the reasons that I went with Nighthawk on my last commander gun was the fact that they crowned and recessed the barrel, that is a feature that I really like
  16. Im with you Joe, it is a SICKNESS But after recieving my GRP2, they build some awesome guns!!!!
  17. Very nice rifle, I love my RRA, Enjoy it
  18. Dave you bring up a good point no gun will make you a better shooter, but the nicer ones sure make it better, Kano a member here is the BEST shot I have ever seen in my life, I can ask him to post some targets to show you what I mean here is one he did with a Les Baer http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9179 , he would make John Moses Browning proud by what he can do with a 1911, now he only has as I do high end 1911's perhaps someday we can get together and we will let you shoot our guns, and give Kano a try with your Smith and Wesson to see if it is up to par with the High end ones, this would be quite intresting to say the least
  19. Thanks man, By the way I love your avatar
  20. I use to have a remington 870 express hd, but never like the one I ordered last month, it will have the Vang Comp system and alot of other features, the best thing they do for the money is refinish all of the interior parts and replace the weaker ones, mine will look like this http://www.nighthawkcustom.com/NighthawkTacticalShotguns.aspx with no pistol grip, a short butt stock, the sure fire light will be mounted to the barrel, instead of the foregrip, and sniper grey finish, and tritium front site, I cant wait to get it
  21. I believe that is Gemini Custom work?, they do awesome 1911 work as can be seen in these pictures, beautiful pistol!
  22. I shoot several hundred rounds through my 1911's I do not have to clean them at the range, whatever pistols that you claim that you shot are simply not up to par if what you describe is true,
  23. Kano is right, like myself he owns some fine 1911's they all run as expected excellent, people you have to understand that with a 1911 you do get what you pay for in spades, whomever these guys are that own Wilson's that do not run as good as a Glock???? if I were them Wilson would have my gun back until they get it right. I never bought a semi custom 1911 until I got to shoot one first, anyone out there who owns a Kimber, and think that it is a great gun, they may be, but shoot it and then shoot an Ed Brown, this is what got me hooked on good 1911's, you will see just what all the fuss is about,
  24. Just out of curiosity what models of Wilson's are these that your Glock runs better than? I do not own a Wilson by the way
  25. I've been very fortunate in my life. I've been able to acquire a number of very fine guns. I really like them. My Ed Browns, Les Baer and Nighthawk are beautifully put together. I admire their fit and finish. They are accurate and reliable. I think that the guns at that level are just "nicer." I appreciate the quality I see in them. IMHO high end 1911s reflect a greater level of craftsmanship and attention, but whether the incremental increase in quality reflects a similar level of performance, or can fully justify the higher price, will always be a matter of debate. They cost what they cost. Whether that something extra in these pistols is worth the additional cost is something you have to decide for yourself. I'm not sure that I can necessarily argue objectively or scientifically that it is. But it is worth it to me. Does one need such a gun for recreation or to protect himself and his family? The answer is, no. There are many guns made which, for less money, will give excellent service and would fully be up to pretty much all tasks short of very serious competition, such as Bullseye or PPC, at the top levels. But if one appreciates high end pistols (or rifles or shotguns) and is lucky enough to have the means to satisfy his business and familiy responsibilities and also indulge his tastes, there's no reason he should not. One may not need a top end 1911 (or a Ferrari car or Breitling watch or a Perazzi shotgun), but nonetheless they are wonderful machines, can perform their functions well and are satisfying to use.
