That is something that every gun has to be individually tested for, look before I carry a round I fire several 250-500 rounds through the pistol before I trust it. You are asking for trouble, and risking your life by not testing any round that you want to carry. This ammo that you are asking about is Designer ammunition and I would not waste my money. +P ammo is not necessary for self defense round and adds a tremendous amount of stress to your weapon. I use Remington Golden Saber 230 Grain in all of my 1911's. I have shot thousands of rounds through the 1911's that I have owned and have had ZERO malfunctions with it, I suggest you try that instead

You are a brave man doing that to a Les Baer frame, personally I would only let a VERY experienced gunsmith do that on a high end 1911, but to each their own

Those are built in Mobile Alabama, Last year My boat was at dry dock for 6 months right across the bay from Austal shipyard where they are made, they were not very cooperative about me taking photographs, but I got a couple and myself and a few of my crew got a tour of the manufacturing facility, very impressive to say the least

What kind of 1911? is the frame steel, or alloy? the only damage that can be caused is a malfunction, misfeed which can get you killed, therefore anytime I have any issue whatsoever with a magazine, I get rid of it. The Wilson's are expensive for a very good reason they work, I also like CMC Powermags, I own about 30 of them and they have never let me down. you can get the CMC powermags for $18.00 if you look around.

They DO have Live voltage running through them all of the time, the wires have to be shorted together to complete the circuit and allow for the current to flow, (this is what the burner switch does) in a perfect world you would not see this voltage until the switch is engaged, however if you short them together you will see live Voltage, (very easy to do changing out the element) I work on 4800 VAC, 480 DC power with more than 200 amperes of current displacements all of the time, everyone who does RESPECTS that high of voltage and current, unfortunately it is ignorance to household 110 VAC, 220 VAC that gets people killed every day, if you do not prove a circuit dead, you are asking to be shocked and perhaps to be killed

you seem to have a few guns that you never fire, you are missing all of the fun they are tools and meant to be used, carried, scuffed up, I think you would be shocked to see how I treat my High end carry 1911's

Just be sure that your breaker is turned off, verify this and be careful when removing it, if it is like mine the wire harness is very tight (not much slack) it really is simple if you are careful

Replace the element, I had the same thing happen and for $45.00 shipped I had a new element and installed it myself
