  1. Rock River Arms won the DEA contract with their Government Series Pro rifle. It Beat out Colt and several others. In the Real world the DEA uses their rifle I Loved the one I had and would trust my life to it any day. Their Barrels are Chrome Lined at least mine was. They went through a pretty sever proving ground to win this contract. They also have a Lifetime warranty on their rifles while Colt gives a year Press Release on DEA Contract for RRA DEA/FBI Tactical Carbine http://www.rockriverarms.com/images/pdfs/gm_oct04.pdf
  2. I work offshore so I am gone roughly 6 months out of the year. But the other 6 months I am home, which can be a pain as I want to shoot when everyone else is at work anyway to answer your question my Carry gun Nighthawk commander has close to 4K rounds through it all Hollow point I have yet to shoot FMJ through it. The Les Baer TRS now has 800 rounds through it (done in 2 days) When I go to the range I usually put a minimum of 300 rounds through every pistol I bring. The Nighthawk was not field stripped (only ran a bore snake through) until after it had 2000 rounds through it. then I gave it a thorough cleaning I have one Ed Brown Executive target that I only put 100 rounds through (selling it next week as I do not need a target pistol) I will be going this weekend to shoot the TRS more. I look at this differently than a lot of people. In my carry guns I only shoot the ammo that I will be carrying. It is expensive but makes perfect sense to me as that is what I will be using if I ever have to use it. So the rounds that I have fired through the TRS and the Nighthawk have all been Remington Golden Saber 230 Grain. None of these pistols have suffered any kind of malfunction and they are extremely accurate I only use Chip McCormick 8 round Power Mags and Wilson Combat 47DC's this recipe has worked on all of the 1911's that I have owned. I will be shooting FMJ through the TRS this weekend and after running 800 Rounds of Carry ammo through it I seriously doubt I will have any issues but if I do I will let everyone know.
  3. The problem is that a lot of people can't just enjoy a movie as it is meant to be, a break from reality I have never been that way and always know the difference it really surprises me how many people do not understand this
  4. Before you begin to make statements like this( this whole thread), I suggest you gather your own experiences. I have been a 1911 owner for a very long time. My first Handgun was a Kimber Ultra Carry after owning a dozen different models I can honestly say they are NOT anymore maintenance intensive then my 3 Glocks or my Sig. To each their own if you do not like the 100 year old proven design then by all means do not ever buy one but for God's sake don't knock them before you try them
  5. Thanks, I appreciate it I am hoping for 3 weeks,
  6. Did they give any explanation as to why? or did it just show up
  7. Exactly why I have not been tempted to get one, now if I owned the land to shoot it on my bank account would be seriously hurting
  8. Damn, I did not know it could be done that quickly, My friend in Texas that turned me onto the Idea waited like 4 months for his. It may be different state to state?
  9. Cool!!! That was very quick, maybe it helped that I used my CC instead of a check so they did not have to wait for the check to clear?
  10. Allright, I sent off the forms last week and today the ATF charged my card the $30.00 Is that any indication that the ball is rolling?
  11. Go with the CBOB, If you get a Mil Spec now you will always want the CBOB later, save yourself some money and get what you want the first time. I warn you now that 1911's can be very addictive just something for you to think about before you take the plunge.
  12. You may not ever figure out the exact model if someone built it. However I would email RRA the serial number and they may be able to tell you it looks like entry tactical but I am not sure, I would definitely get a Phantom Flash hider on that if I were you
  13. That means Chrome Lined, 1 in 7 twist, and it will handle 5.56 as well as .223 rounds, You did good, Congrats I love RRA weapons

    Titans Draft

Every since LP field was around, my Brother in law has owned 2 Excellent seats, lower level titans sideline 35 yard-line, a man he works with his friend bought the 2 next to him, well this year his friend is selling me his season tickets, hopefully I will get his PSL's eventually, Back to the topic, I am looking forward to this season, I think Rolle will be a great asset to the team, he has the athletic ability and the brains to stay out of trouble
  15. I would never own a 1911 not chambered in .45 acp I know a few people that have them in 9 and .40 even a 10 mill and they like them, call me a purist but a 1911 should be a .45
  16. That about sums it up I would think, thank you Jason One of these days I will have one of Larry's Pistols
  17. I really like that Jason, it looks just like mine
  18. If you lived closer (or are willing to come here) I would let you shoot my Brown, Nighthawk and Baer Believe it or not they all work 100% Crazy I know but after all that is what they are supposed to do. Every manufacturer has a problem child go out the door, it is not a perfect world. I guess I have been extremely lucky as I listen to you and CK1 I have owned 12 1911's and every one of them has ran perfectly and given me no problems. As Tim Calhoun said 99% of 1911 problems are with the extractor My guns are tools I like Nice 1911's I spend a lot of money on them and I shoot the piss out of them. I have 3 Glocks and I like them very much but to me the 1911 is the perfect fighting tool and the best Handgun ever conceived
  19. What do you mean? if it is stainless or blued are you suggesting that you want it polished?
  20. The wilson 47dc's are the closest thing they make to a flush fit, Wilson uses bumper pads and the C stands for concealment. Those are what I use in my commander carry gun
  21. They should, it is best to call Wilson, I have never owned a sub compact 1911 The 10 rounders however will not be flush, they stick out
