  1. Look, I am not trying to lecture anyone here but I have spent a bunch of money training under Clint Smith at Thunder Ranch he was a student of Col Jeff Cooper you all can do as you wish, after all it is your life, but here are Col Jeff Coopers thoughts on 1911 carry conditions: jeff cooper's five facts of 1911 life: John Browning’s revolutionary semiautomatic pistol was still being used like a Colt six-shooter until Jeff Cooper came along.
  2. Already got the insurance covered, not surprisingly with my record and age it is very affordable on both of the Bikes in question, and I will definitely buy the gear beforehand I just got back from looking at an 09 Street R, Very Very nice bike, they will have the 2011 models by the time I get mine so I will check them out as well
  3. Something that only Penicillin can cure
  4. I agree with you 100% I can ride an 1100 just as easy as a 600 because it is how I ride it and respect it that makes the difference. The reason I am thinking of going with the Speed, I love the look of that bike, especially in the Khaki Green, there is just something about it, with that being said I love the Black Street triple R I will definitely check them both out, as I said a friend of mine owns the Street triple R and absolutely loves it, I am pretty sure I have it narrowed down to these 2 bikes now, by the time that I am ready to buy it I will know for sure

    Gorilla Glue?

I have several Ebony wood carvings of animals that I brought home from Africa, any a few of the Elephants trunks were broken off during my travels and I used Gorilla Glue to mend them, it is awesome stuff and has worked very well for me
  6. All the same you guys make a great point and the Street Triple is much cheaper and less powerful, I may get that one instead
  7. LOL, I should have said my first New Bike, I have ridden for several years without a license I have had 3 but the last one was 15 years ago, Believe me when I tell you that I know to respect motorcycles
  8. I have had my license for well over a year, I just have not bought a Bike. I started wanting a Harley, then a BMW but decided not to spend that much money on one. A Canadian friend of mine just bought a 2010 Triumph Street Triple R, and I really like those and thought about getting one. I then started researching the Speed Triple and like that a heck of a lot more, well they just came out with a color that I love, I will be getting a Bike around April 2011 and I think it will be this one
  9. Buy them online, much cheaper try here Victorinox Swiss Army Knives
  10. I know what you mean, but I actually stopped for nearly 3 years before, it was much easier back then though. I am just to a point in my life where it bothered me when I realized just how much I was addicted to them, that pissed me off and with the fact that my family has been begging me to stop I honestly know that I am done with them it is a very liberating feeling one that in my case is more mental than physical I honestly never want to smoke again and that for me is the whole battle
  11. That my friend is a fine looking rifle, Congrats!
  12. LOL, that was my Cigarette money for the rest of the year on this one!!!
  13. I have been a smoker for over 26 years, my wife and children have all begged me to quit and I kept promising them that I would. I considered Hypnotism, and several stop smoking drugs, what it boiled down to though was Cold Turkey, I have not cheated, used chewing tobacco or anything, not even gum this has been the hardest thing I have ever done but the cravings have STOPPED, food tastes better to me and I have a new sense of smell. I can honestly say that I am DONE with nicotine, if any of you are trying to quit, just stop Cold Turkey that is the only thing that has ever worked for me. the 8th day was the worse I thought I would loose my mind. In all honesty I already feel a heck of a lot better, Sorry for the rant
  14. Leroy, With all do respect, we as a society are a heck of a lot safer now than we were decades ago. Please explain to me what you think is safe about having a live round in the chamber and 1/2 cocking the trigger? The potential of an accidental discharge makes this NOT SAFE. Also god forbid any of us have to use our 1911 in self defense, fumbling for the trigger to cock it before getting a shot off that could save your life also keeps this from being safe. When people ask for advice on how to handle or carry a weapon we should teach them the safe way of doing things, not the way it use to be done before people knew any better
  15. I just ordered this one, I like the looks of it better then the Black one that I had
  16. If you are carrying a 1911 this way, do us all a favor and get rid of it, you obviously know nothing about the model 1911 the way you claim to carry: This Condition of Carry offers the dual disadvantage of being both dangerous and awkward. To bring the pistol into action, the operator must first cock the hammer to the rear, making this method of operation slower than the "cocked-and-locked" method of Condition One. Furthermore, Condition. Two could be dangerous if the hammer slips during the risky "dropping" process or if the gun itself is accidentally dropped while in this hammer-down mode. This mode of carry is not recommended under any circumstances.
  17. Negative, DO NOT carry this way, the 1911 was not designed for that you are asking for trouble if you choose to carry this way
  18. Your link is not working, I love Winchesters, Congrats!
  19. Condition 1, Cocked and locked what the pistol was designed for

    PS90

They are great rifles and a blast to shoot however the Bullpup design was just something that I could not warm up to that is why I sold mine
  22. I know nothing about them except that George would not be a dealer for them if they were not very nice guns It is strange that they only offer commander size 1911's and no Government models at least from what I could find Edit: after reading some posts about these 1911's I would definitely pass on them for now the reason that I posted this was because there was interest about this company a few months ago, but after reading what some respected friends have written about them I would not buy one
