Just got this SAR 6 in the mail, Fred I now see why you are addicted to these knives they are simply amazing!!

As far as I know all 3rd Generations are S35VN, my custom is the only one that has the blade steel on the blade though

Sometime in 2011 I will be buying an LWRC PSD in 6.8

Mav, I think you are talking apples to oranges here, I love Chris Reeve knives and will get all three that you mention here. The two makers just have different styles The folks that I know that own both would trust any task to each of them and looks come in more to play in the comparison in my opinion. I personally feel that Jerry Busse and Chris Reeve make some of the best knives in the world anyone should be happy to own either I handled a Pacific Chris Reeve in Rotterdam, I would make that my next Chris Reeve if I were you

9mm 1911, I have heard of problems like this with everyone I know that has a 9mm whether it is Nighthawk, STI the problem seems to be the same this is why I only have .45ACP 1911's If you installed the Ed Brown part, were you having these issues before that? if not I would replace it with your stock part and see if the problem goes away
