Shooting at Denver theater during new Batman movie.
Kenstaroni replied to K191145's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Interesting how stuff like this happens right around when any major gun legislation is in the works...cough cough the UN ATT. Sorry, alot of this doesn't make sense. Anyone who would do this would most likely be willing to take their own life or fight to the death, not get apprehended in the parking lot. Booby trap the apartment, gas canisters, ect. This thing stinks to high heaven of a staged attack. Soften up the public during a time when a few senators are on the fence about going with Obama on the ATT to get them on his side. 9/11 and suddently no one care's one bit about the treasonous patriot act because it wll keep us all safe. Now this right before the ATT vote. Just wait for the next couple weeks as the media deamonizes guns every single day...blah blah blah until they can get the ATT vote pushed through, then we are all screwed and we'll look back on this and wonder what happened. Sorry liberals you can't support any of what you preach with an ounce of evidence that less guns = more safety...quite the opposite. How many people died in Chicago yesterday? How many people died from car accidents yesterday? How many people died of heart disease yesterday? Bet the numbers in perspective will suprise you. -
+1 David is a great guy to deal with...he basically got me started in reloading. I've bought 95% of all the reloading stuff I own from him.

Those of you who live near the mountains are so freakin' lucky...
Kenstaroni replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
I was up at Fontana Lake flyfishing and camping at Hazel creek last weekend. I lived in Knoxville for 4 years and didn't realize how much I'd miss the mountains until I moved back to the basin of Nashville. However, that's about all I miss about East Tn...lol -
Ha ha...if you think this will prevent the U.S. from doing any backroom deals you're crazy. This is about control not arms trade. It's a joke, it's treasonous, and we won't stand for it. When's the last time we did anything the U.N. said we had to do...we'll only do that when it's in the mutual interest of the governement...conveinent how that works.

True, all treaties must be ratified. However, how in the world can we count on the congress to protect us...they passed the Healthcare bill without reading it. The Supreme Court, we'll we recently found out how reliable they are. Anyone who is oblivious to everything going on these days really should wake up and pay attention. I bet most of the country had no idea what the ATT even is...they will be the one's begging us to protect them when things turn to turmoil.

They have a wierd law where it has to be on your person or in a glove box or console with a permit. Can't have it on the seat or somewhere else...why, I have no idea. Don't quote me word for word on this, look it up yourself...it's been a while since I've had a reason to go to SC...lol

Reloading supplies...contact David here on TGO..screen name DLM37015. Don't even bother looking anywhere else, his prices, service, ect. are top notch. He doesn't have a retail store, just sells at gun shows so he can smoke anyone's prices and meet you around town with whatever you are looking for. You can go to Reloader's Bench if you want to spend more money...lol Best stores within a reasonable drive of say Nashville and my favorite 3 because I appreciate a fair price right off the bat without having to study a few episodes of Pawn Stars to brush up on my negotiating skills before I walk in... 1. Whittaker's Guns in Owensboro, KY (hands down best prices and excellent selection, expect cost plus 10%, lots of scopes, ect. as well. No haggling, but best sticker prices bar none) 2. Kentucky Gun Co in Bardstown, KY (check their website..if they have something you want the price will be pretty good and close to Whittakers) 3. GT Distributors in Rossville, GA right outside Chattanooga (great selection of guns and gear, more police type selection but they do the GSSF LEO priced Glocks, ect) As far as Middle TN -Guns and Leather (fair prices, great guys, probably the best all around store in town) -D&T Arms (best service around, just a smaller store) -Outpost (good selection, "ok" prices..don't expect a deal on anything right now but they have some cool stuff. Just do your research before you walk in) -Franklin Gun (100% full retail prices but the best selection around for sure, they will discount but there's a reason for that as they are too high to begin with. If you want something and have to have it today then they are the place to go, just don't expect to get any great deal on anything. Good guys though and much more friendly than most places) -On Target ( good guys, decent selection, about 10% higher than the Outpost) -Outdoor Junction (good selection but mainly a hunting store, archery, ect. worth a stop if you're bored along I-40 exit 290) -Hero Gear (been there twice good selection and worth a drive on a Saturday. In Winchester so not too far from you. I can't speak of the new management, I went in the days when Joe owned it. Good folks and a sponsor of TGO) East TN -Coal Creek Armory (decent selection, fair prices, I wouldn't drive from Nashville or anything) -Mikes Gun Shop in Tazewell, TN (best little shop in TN. If you are in East TN it's worth the drive, pretty much cost plus 10%. I bought all my firearms from there for the 3 years I lived in Knoxville) Hope that helps....I've been to more shops than whats listed but the only one's really worth mentioning that I've been too are listed. Good luck!

Truely sad day for sure. The Supreme Court should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Obama campaigned for the healthcare bill saying over and over again that it wasn't a tax then the SC upholds it as a tax. We'll which one is it? I'll vote for freakin Kermit the Frog in November before I vote for a man who has lied and lied about everything he campaigned on, drove up our debt, decided executive orders are greater than the constitution, ect. ect. ect. Either way allowing the goverment to require you to buy something soley on the basis that you exist on this planet is the beginning of a dangerous relationship between it and the citizens. The "what's next" argument is the scary one. We'll they can push and push but eventually the people will push back and we'll see how things go then. Fortunately I don't think that day is too far away.

Military & Police Call in About Gun Confiscation Orders

It's wonderful for everyone to have their own opinions on things and a good healthy argument is great to have. However any more opinions from me would fall on deaf ears so you guys have fun. -

It can never happen here right...we'll if that's your mentality prepare to be a victim when it does. I would love to elaborate but this is a public forum after all. I strongly encourage everyone to do their own research, read all the facts, and make your own decisions. History repeats itself and don't be surprised when it does. If you don't question everything then you won't learn anything. -
Military & Police Call in About Gun Confiscation Orders

Glad I'm not the only one who has read into this today. Alex may be a little nutty to some but I'd take his news reporting over any mainstream media any day. All he does is report on other non-mainstream news organizations articles, not sure what's so crazy about that. Ultimately doing your own research is key. -
Walnut stock Socom's are my favorite M1a...something about a rifle so crazy tough looking in a wood stock...lol Good luck either way. Maybe find someone around that has a Sig 716 and see if you can shoot it to see how you like it. I think the LMT is probably the best bang for the buck in the AR10 game. You can find them for 2300ish if you hunt around.

I had one for a short period of time. For the price I'd say its a decent deal, but like most Sig rifles at least IMO, there's always something left to be desired. Their pistols rock, but I've never really been that thrilled with any of their rifles. On the plus side the bolt is the same as LWRC's REPR bolt (made by the same company) so you can count on that being pretty good. They are mass produced guns so don't expect the attention to detail and rock solid feel that you would find on an LWRC, LaRue OBR, LMT, ect. I think you would be way happier in the long run with an LMT MWS or a POF for a couple hundred more, but it kinda depends on what you want to do with it as the Sig is lighter I believe. Just my $0.2

The sign has to be the proper gun buster sign. Just something written out like "no firearms" or something wouldn't be the correct signage and therefore technically not valid because it's not posted properly. I think it was part of a law passed last year or so...I'm sure someone knows the name of it, but it required businesses to have a specific sign to alleviate all the different signs out there. Most businesses aren't aware of this or haven't chosen to post properly. They all still think a sticker on the door is going to prevent crime...lol
-
Glad you just edited the verbiage of your post. This is a better way to ask your question. Any carry laws apply to government buildings and property, however private businesses are supposed to be posted properly with the proper sign to communicate their desires to not have legal guns on the property. If you don't see a sign or have prior knowledge that the area is posted and you carry there, usually the only thing that's going to happen is they could ask you to leave. As long as you comply there are rarely any issues. It is very common for places to not be posted properly. I, like many gun owners just choose not to do business there, personally not because I can't carry inside, but because of the principal of it.

Good, I F'in hate Memphis anyway. Funny how it's justified to tax the citizens for commuting to work where they earn money that they are taxed on, only to "ease the burden" on the local government for it's programs that the tax payers already pay for. Nothing but horesh*t.

Think about it....Obama supports the occupy people, sits back and watches it get worse and worse...oh wait a minute that gives me an idea to pass a new law so that doesn't happen again....hmmm wonder how that happened. The government are artists when it comes to creating problems that never existed then "fixing" them, aka passing a bunch of new laws giving them more power and us less freedom....the biggest of which was 9/11, but I'll stop at this point as I could go on all day.

Where is the White river? I was canoeing the Piney river a couple weekends ago and one of the locals said Miller's Creek was good trout fishing...that's not to far from you. My poor fly rod hasn't been wet in too long...lol

Three things I'll take out of this thread.... 1. Don't buy anything from Arsenal 2. Never walk in On Target again (sad considering I live in Murfreesboro) 3. Don't forget items 1&2

I think once you move to another state and you are a permanent resident of that state your permit is no longer valid in TN, but maybe someone more knowledgable can confirm or elaborate on this.

The only show I've been to and liked around Nashville was the one in Murfreesboro...always thought the fairgrounds and agriculture center or whatever is out past Franklin...shows sucked and have never been back.

I run an aimpoint and a 3.5-10 Leupold Mark 4 on my .308 carbine...a good 1-4 or some of the new 1-7 and 1-8 power scopes are a good choice too. SWFA is coming out with a 1-6 I think that's pretty nice. Trijicon makes a 1-4 that rocks. Really depends on what you want to use if for. If its going to be a heavy metal carbine than a 1-4 would be fine. If you want to punch paper way out then you'll want more magnification.

How is this for a fortified home
Kenstaroni replied to LI0NSFAN's topic in Survival and Preparedness
You would be safer in a tent in the woods than in that place in Miami...lol Pointless to consider that a fortress given the location and people in the area..lol
