  1. I'm gonna give my honest opinon here... I was very excited about the idea of a new style of gun show and appreciate the guys for putting it on. You could call it a starting point, and I'm sure it would have been better if more companies were involved. All in all it was out with the beef jerky, and add in the ATV and binocular guys.... Negatives: 1. I found little to nothing that I wanted....only items purchased were from Haversack Ammo. 2. There were no accessories really, no optics (unless you wanted to spend $1,000+), not much AR 15 stuff, not a decent bipod in the room except for the shooting stick guy I guess. Couldn't find a collapsable butt stock for my rifle...at least with the buffer tube and spring as no one had it all except for a couple cheap Tapco's. No one seemed to have any good stuff to buy, just really expensive stuff to look at, or overpriced stuff I can get anywhere. I saw a small molle pack on one table for $120.00....you can buy one that size for less than $30. I didn't even bother looking at anything else on thier table as I couldn't concieve that I would be getting even a fair deal. 3. Vendors brought stuff to show, which is cool, however if I wanted to see $2,000+ rifles I could just go to a local gun store. Barret was there....cool The ATV gun rack people....I mean really? Anyone ever been to Bass Pro Shops? 15 gun safes lined up....I mean cool to look at I guess, but who's gonna buy one at a show like that? 4. I could have found more to look at that I actually wanted to buy If I would have just gone to the Outpost Armory's store and wouldn't have had to pay $8 to get in. 5. It was like a tradeshow more than a gun show. And we're not gun dealers, we are consumers so this format doesn't really benefit most people. Positives: 1. Haversack had a booth there selling HSM ammo. This ammo is really nice and unfortunately most people in the South haven't heard of it as it's made in Montana. They have match grade ammo for the same price as you would pay for a box of Remington at a gun store...how can you go wrong. They were the only booth with a good variety of ammo except for the Armory who had a few calibers of Wolf for better than normal prices, but still $75-$100 more per case than you can buy it for online. 2. Met some people from TGO and passed on a rifle to one of them. Hope you enjoy man! *The highlight of the trip, and the only reason it was really worth while was that I met up with TNRobocop and picked up a DPMS Tac-20 from him Friday night on my way into town. Thanks for the great deal man..can't wait to play with it! All in all...I like the idea of a new style of gun show, but I think this show made baby steps at best in that direction. Hopefully the next one will be better...
  2. I might try to make it if I'm in town. Still debating on the Gun and Gear Expo . I joined a couple weeks ago. I got so tired of the TWRA range in Knoxville...all the rude range guys, more than one shot per minute was "too fast"...lol Plus they just close whenever they feel like it, and that always seemed to coincide with when I wanted to go..lol Met some cool guys there last Sunday. I was wondering about bringing beer kegs and other fun targets. I guess it's no biggie as long as you clean up everything and don't leave a mess huh?
  3. Check out voodoo tactical. They have some great Molle bags, weapons cases, pouches, etc. I just bought few things from them and the quality is top notch. They are in Raleigh, NC, so shipping is quick. The company behind it is Captain Daves Survival Store. Put that in google and you'll find a website full of everything you need.
  4. I was at Gunny's in Maryville today and they were talking about it. They said the Governer tried to veto it and something about an appeal already in progress. I have a HCP and never cared about carrying in a restaurant, however I do like having that option. I don't worry so much about restaurants in areas I am familiar with, but if I traveled out of town I might carry just for the simple fact I wouldn't know what to expect in that area. Either way I definately don't like any of our freedoms regarding guns being repealed. I hope we can all make steps forward, not backwards. I think Georgia has some of the better gun laws, I wish TN would take note. I do not visit, drive through, nor purchase any items from companies in Illinois (internet, etc.) just because of thier rediculus infringing gun laws. You couldn't pay me enough to live in a state that didn't respect the U.S Constitution. It's ok TN you can keep my gun out of the restaurants for now, but the AK-47 I picked up today is still comfortably in my gun safe...
  5. Is that Voodoo Tactical's store...wow? I'm going to Raleigh the week after Thanksgiving, if that's the case, I'm making a pit stop...lol
  6. Check out www.airsoftvanguard.com Never bought a magnifier from them but they have the eotech clones. I've found nothing but good reviews on AR15.com about thier Aimpoint and ACOG clones. I have ordered both!
  7. Boresnakes get my vote Quick, simple, easy and compact to carry, not putting a rod together, feeding a patch in, risking damage to barrel from improper use. Just my $.02
  8. I had a Tasco Propoint red dot on mine and was pretty happy with it. You probably aren't going to shoot but 50 yards, maybe 100 accurately with a .22 anyway, so what's the need for a scope with magnification? Not to say don't go that route, but red dot is great for 10/22's (my $.02) If you want the look of the aimpoints but not the price I'd check out www.airsoftvanguard.com It's a japanese company that sells clones. If you do a search on Ar15.com you'll find some write-up's and torture tests done on these optics and the reviews are quite good. Performance that equals the real thing for 10% of the price. I would at least get a Barska for a traditional red dot, the low end Tasco's, Leapers, and similar have been known to just go out after minimal use.
  9. I had terrible luck out of Butler Creek Hot lips mags, while stock one's were perfect every time. I would at least try the steel lips, or get the tactical innovations as I've heard good things about thier mags.
  10. I picked one up for $125.00 at the last gun show in Knoxville. The guy had several of them, all brand new, and the price was so good I couldn't pass it up. I put about 100 rounds through mine while sighting up a scope on my AR and it preformed flawlessly. Definately dirtier than .223, however considering the ease of removal, cleaning, and re-installing it's a not a big deal at all. I now can have fun with the AR and not watch dollar bills fly out of my pockets...lol
  11. I recently ordered some products from www.voodootactical.com including a weapons case for two rifles, shotgun scabbard, and some rifle slings. The quality of thier products are top notch and shipping was really quick. I searched and searched for a reasonably priced Molle rifle case that would hold two rifles with some kind of divider in it. I finally ran across this website and got exactly what I wanted for a really fair price. If anyone is in the market for tactical gear, rifle bags, etc. I would recommend you check these guys out. I am not affiliated with them in any way, just a happy customer sharing thier experiences. -Kenstaroni
