  1.   I'm sorry to hear about your son's bad news, but I remember telling my wife what Mike said after the election in November.  Our country, as a whole, is getting exactly what we asked for and what we deserve.  Not all of us deserve it, of course, but the American people spoke and made it clear exactly how dense and morally bankrupt our country is.
  2. You can take care of most of the ESPN offerings with watchespn.com.  Not sure about the cable news, though.
  3. The bit about the birds being eaten....on Tuesday....cracked me up.
  4.   btw, thanks for posting.  hopefully, i'll catch some in stock soon!
  5. By the time I checked I only saw the CCI and it's already gone.
  6. Not sure about the lanterns, but the lights in the table are powered by a cable that runs under the couch, I believe.  This link has the plans on how the guy built it.   http://blog.aimsurplus.com/mosin-nagant-rifle-crate-coffee-table/
  7. Carrying my ar on my bike would be awesome! (disclaimer: Bike shown below not my bike) ;) Somebody get to work on changing that law pronto.
  8. I used to sell auto/home in Virginia, and I would agree with the above advice to increase the uninsured/underinsured coverage. You can price it out, but it shouldn't make much difference in the premiums.  I would also add back the medical coverage if you can.  It's handy and helps prevent out-of-pocket costs.  The rest looks ok IMHO.   Definitely check into that umbrella policy.  It's good peace of mind and it shouldn't be too expensive.  Be sure to read the coverage limitations or get an agent to answer questions.
  9. I was thinking the same thing....LOL.  I thought, "Man, that's a interesting shelving system."  :squint:
  10. I would agree.  The deciding factor to me is you were sure you heard shattering glass.  If I were unsure of whether I heard anything suspicious (or wasn't sure what I heard), I might check the house instead of calling the cops.  Given that everything you needed to protect was in the same room and you were convinced of what you heard, I think that was the right thing to do.
  11. Something I've never understood about using a statistic like that.  If you as an adult make the decision to carry, and some criminal manages to use that pistol to harm you, isn't that your choice?  That decision is on me if it's the wrong one.   It's maddening that people like this senator think they know better than you do how you should live your life.
  12. By the way, I believe the ruling from Vanderbilt wasn't that Christian groups had to allow non-Christians as elected leaders.  It was that these groups couldn't require their leaders to sign a statement of faith asserting they agree to and will maintain basic Christian beliefs.  Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.
  13. *Edited to remove info.*  I realized posting that might be considered selling outside of the classifieds.   In short he has 8 91/30's and a M44.  All '44 and older ranging from $150 to $225.
  14.   That would be my guess as well.
  15. Interesting read on the AR-15, and its rise in popularity/infamy.  I didn't realize the platform has gained it's civilian popularity (or maybe acceptance) so recently.   http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2013/02/ar-15/
  16. SIAP.   Wife sent this over to me today, and I thought you guys would enjoy.   http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/pizza-shop-owner-offering-discount-gun-owners-article-1.1266889
  17. Good to know.  Thanks Broomhead. I'm definitely interested in trying one of these out this spring or summer.
  18. Are these predominately for younger people?   EDIT: By younger people, I mean teens and pre-teens.  I'm not an over 50, old geezer like most of you guys.  :stir:
  19. From the article this sounds like it went badly for the teen, but was handled appropriately by the police.  I firmly believe if you break into someone's house, you should be willing accept whatever consequences occur in the moment and should have no ability to sue in the aftermath.
  20. If he has to share a jail cell, it probably will be with a liberal. ;)
  21. From what I could tell, it's just the cheaper version. 1 less mag, cheaper parts, etc.
