  1. i love Punisher84 for making an "all your base" reference. oh wait...wrong thread.
  2. I used to sell Property and Casualty insurance in VA, and I can assure you 1 ticket is enough for rates to rise, depending on the company of course. In my experience it averaged out to $10/month per ticket. When I got a ticket in Greenbrier, TN, I decided to go to the school since guess 10/month for the next 3-5 years is a lot more than the school and fines cost. BTW, I saw the rates rise on renewals so you might not notice it for several months if you have a 12 month policy.
  3. I'm with you Jamie. When it's vertical, the rotary wing can't generate lift, and there's nothing else keeping that thing in the air.
  4. i don't think this has been posted, yet. you can fast forward to about the 2 minute mark to skip some random fast forwarding and rewinding. Video Shows Robber Shoot Himself, Clerk At Same Time - News Story - WSB Atlanta
  5. i'm getting more and more reluctant to take a chance by intervening in an unknown dispute/situation. According to accounts by the ATF and Rep. Lee, Clark left his apartment that morning and found his neighbor Marguerite Duncan crying and trembling. "She pleaded for his help, knowing that Clark was a federal agent," Lee wrote to congressional colleagues in a June 30 letter trying to stir support for his resolution backing the agent. The woman's boyfriend, Marcus Sukow, who was naked and supposedly intoxicated, reportedly started pounding on her car hood and throwing large landscaping rocks. According to Lee, Clark tried calming the man, to no avail. The man allegedly made threats and eventually came charging at Clark with a Maglite flashlight, which is considered a potentially lethal weapon. The agent opened fire, killing Sukow. An ATF shooting review panel found that Clark acted reasonably in the situation. ...... "After reviewing the facts of the case, along with interviewing several witnesses, which included an attorney, a former prosecutor and a security guard, the U.S. Virgin Islands Attorney General concluded that the Agent Clark acted with excessive force," she wrote. "Moreover, the domestic abuse victim to whose defense he came has also stated that his response to the incident was excessive." ATF Defends Agent William Clark in Virgin Islands Murder Rap
  6. welcome! you won't find a nicer guy than Charlie or a better deal than the range down at owl hollow.
  7. Any LSU fans on TGO? I'm originally from NELa and figured I'd post this for all the other coonies and hicks in case anyone has some good ideas. Official Nashville Travel Guide - Tiger Rant - LSU Sports Forum - TigerDroppings.com
  8. i agree with JAB. relax and don't believe everything you hear. the q&a part at the end of my class was hilarious, especially one part where a guy had a whole string of questions about how someone would trace a gun back to him if he "lost" it. my wife shot 50 out of 50 on the range part and she'd only been shooting 4-5 times in her life.
  9. went to church, had breakfast with the mrs and then talked her into going to the (chmr) range with me and had a good talk with Charlie. came back home, pulled up the flooring in the guest bathroom, pulled the toilet, undercut the doors and started laying some new flooring. all in all a nice sunday.
  10. i'm in nashville, but if you're in the area and want to shoot my 40c, pm me.
  11. in installed the apex sear on my 40c and it has totally changed the gun IMHO. i didn't dislike the feel of the trigger before, but the new sear made all the difference in accuracy and definitely increased the feel of the reset.
  12. i taught high school for 3 years in Louisiana, and I agree whole-heartedly. 95% of all discipline problems I had with kids were caused by their parents. and i don't mean allowed or just not prohibited...i mean CAUSED.
  13. nice response. got the point across without a lot of emotion or negative comments.
  14. you've got to love the anti-gun crowd (sarcasm for those who are humor-challenged) Nationwide statistics aren't available Rand, the spokeswoman for the Violence Policy Center, acknowledged that “we don’t have centralized data-gathering to know what people are doing with these licenses.â€â€œ(But) anecdotally, we know they’re doing quite a bit of harm,†she said. Record numbers now licensed to pack heat - Life- msnbc.com Found this on a site about belief in ghosts, demons, etc: Nevertheless, testimonials and anecdotes in such matters are of little value in establishing the probability of the claims they are put forth to support. And this one: These anecdotal associations are so powerful that they cause people to ignore contrary evidence I just can't help but find it humorous that the VPC claims anecdotal evidence as their justification for their claims with a straight face. people definitely do wed their beliefs more faithfully than their spouses.
  15. i took my 40c to the range today with the new apex sear, and it made a huge difference in accuracy and consistency. i had a problem shooting low before and that's gone away completely. my grouping tightened up considerably as well. i recommend that upgrade if you aren't completely satisfied with the default trigger.
  16. so, could you break down the theory behind the all black sights? when i first saw this type of sight, i figured it was a really dumb idea, but after reading some things from master shooter, i realized there must be something to it.
  17. can't speak to the gun or carry laws on the trip, but i can say i love Gettysburg. such a fascinating and beautiful place. here are a few pics of our trip a couple falls ago.
  18. congrats on your 9c. i've been very impressed with this line of pistol. i just put the apex sear in my 40c tonight. i like the new trigger pull, but didn't find it to be drastically different than before.
  19. i bought the 40c for my EDC, so i was trying to find a more compact solution. the extension is just for range use to make it easier on me to practice and put enough rounds through to break it in.
  20. i checked out those custom carry mag sleeves and i would have to agree the x-grips are better designed for the fit and are an especially good deal for 12 or 13 bucks.
  21. Got a FS mag and the X-Grip to try on my M&P 40c, and I'm really liking it. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the range to see how it feels. I have to say after my first visit, shooting it with the regular mag fatigued my forearms and hand pretty badly, so I'm thinking this will help out there. Full size mag w/h x-grip and regular mag with pinky extension in-hand w/h regular mag in-hand with extension
  22. i agree...this seems to be a definitive "no". PC Magazine Discussions - Password protect a folder or zip file in Vista? you could use TrueCrypt and encrypt the folders you wish to control.
  23. i've gone through the exact process with my wife. she's not willing to adjust much to conceal carry and has to wear business clothes at work, so there aren't many options. of all the guns we've looked at, the kahr pm9 seems to fit the bill the best. she doesn't want a ruger lcp or a revolver, so the easiest options were ruled out. if you can get her to start carrying daily, please let me know how so i can try it on my wife.
  24. i thought the same thing when i first read it. i was thinking, "that's odd, but i guess they can specify moms only if they want." but then i started trying to figure out how one could be a mom with less than one child.
  25. saw this on American Idol last night.
