  1. i love the books, but i've never been able to get excited about the movies. IMHO they were pretty poorly made at first and have gotten only a little better. if they had done it peter-jackson-lord-of-the-rings-style, those movies could have been classic.
  2. i asked this question a while back after i bought my first pistol and starting reading these types of forums. i never got a good answer, but vero's answer makes sense. err on the side of caution i suppose.
  3. when you came out with the 870, the shepard was probably saying, "uh oh, Dad's here. It's on now, homies." i'd probably feel the same way about them if they jumped my dog. live and let live until they crossed a line like that.

    Your opinion.

Sara, Anyone here would be a little crazy to give you an interview. Why don't you stop by a couple area gun stores and talk to their owners and patrons. You're probably more likely to get someone to give you a few minutes face-to-face.
  7. the best part is the woman ranting about Americans not being stupid....what irony.
  8. that's pretty tough. sorry to hear about Bella.
  9. first time i've been stopped since i got my carry permit. a brentwood leo got me on wilson pike. i gave him my DL and HCP card along with the proof of insurance. he handed the hcp card back so quickly, i wasn't sure he even saw it. he checked the proof of insurance and just said, "let me see what i can do." came back with a warning and was extremely nice about the whole thing. i noticed he had what looked like a m&p on his hip when he walked back to his car, so i asked him about it after he gave me the warning. he said their dept had just converted. we talked about it for a couple of minutes. overall a pleasant experience, considering.
  10. so what did this Sundquist do that was so bad that would cause a solidly red state to elect a democrat?
  11. i moved into TN a year ago March, and I can't figure out how Bresden got elected. he seems so against the politics/beliefs of most Tennesseeans. can somebody explain why enough folks voted for him last time?
  12. thanks for the link. do you have download that directly to your xbox?
  13. i injured my wrist back in may and it's been a little weak since. by the time i hit 200, i'm starting to notice a lot of fatigue/pain. the last time i went to the range, i swapped hands at 150, i think, and shot another 50 or so left handed before calling it quits. i read somewhere on here about using a hand-strengthener, so i grabbed one of those little foam balls from work and use it throughout the day. seems to have helped significantly.
  14. i don't have a terrible temper, but i'll get a little mouth in traffic at times. having a pistol in the car or on my hip has just about cured me of that. i've been surprised at how much more likely i am now to run away from a situation than i was before. when you understand the responsibilities of carrying, you'll go pretty far out of your way to avoid trouble. especially if you consider you have no defense if it's believed you "started" an altercation in some way and then pulled a firearm. *EDIT* btw, i love the camo.
  15. didn't happen in the knox area, but i got my first ticket in about 10 years for 45 in a school zone. the officer gave me the option of traffic school, and i decided to go that route. it was within $10 of the ticket cost and it kept it off of my record. having sold insurance in the past (in VA, though), i know every moving offense ended up averaging out to around $10 month on auto policies...and that's for 3-5 years.
  16. Walker has never followed the fitness norms. He eats once a day, skipping breakfast and lunch. After a long, intense day of training, he eats salad and bread for dinner. He doesn't care for meat or fuss about getting enough protein. Walker's a vegetarian. "It's a mindset -- something I've been doing for a long time," he said. "I don't worry about protein. I don't worry about all that. I'm from old school. I grew up in south Georgia. They didn't worry about cholesterol or protein. They went out and worked and lived a long time, so I don't put a lot of worries in my mind. I just get it done." Sometimes, Walker doesn't have an appetite and will go through seven hours of wrestling, kickboxing, sparring and practicing jujitsu without having eaten for three or four days. 17. were you down at CHMR at 9 on sat? i think i saw you shooting an all black bolt action at the 100 yd spot. i was wearing the purple LSU shirt and shot a .22 for a bit while waiting for a friend.
  18. welcome, and these are definitely a good group of guys.
  19. i've got the midway bag as well. very nice. it's a bit big and can be heavy when it's loaded up with ammo.
  20. dude, where did you find so many people willing to get into a fight with a 6'6", 285lb guy?
  21. an attorney i know has told me, on a related question, that you better do what the judge says in his courtroom unless it's against the law. it's more of a rule of thumb than anything else, but the gist was do what he says or get out. you're definitely not going to win right then and there no matter how wrong he might be.

  23. i had them put on a cerakote coating on a P225, and i wasn't very happy with the finished product. we emailed and called back and forth a few times, but weren't able to resolve the issue. they never offered a solution; just kept asking questions about what i didn't like about it and how a coating isn't the same thing as a new finish. they seemed to be ok with me shipping it back from them to look at, but never even actually offered that. i wasn't going to pay shipping both ways (overnight only according to FedEx) on a "we'll take a look, i guess." they did follow up more than once, so i'll give them that, but they never actually offered to fix the problem or make it right in any way. i would not recommend using them after my experience.
  24. yeah, these are the ones I've been looking at the most. every now and then you can find some good stuff.
