  1. I've made a few stops there myself and plan to go back.  I picked up some ammo and Glock magazines last time I was there.  I would recommend for those in the area to check it out.
  2. This is what I suspected.  Thanks everyone for the confirmation.  Of course I will report the sales tax.  Just like I do on Amazon.  :-\
  3. I've never purchased a firearm through gunbroker.com, only accessories and magazines.  I was curious if I buy a firearm through gunbroker.com and do the FFL transfer if I still have to pay sale tax on it?  Not necessarily looking to avoid the sales tax, just an added bonus since I'll already be paying for the background check and transfer fee.
  4. I've been extremely happy with my 2012 Tundra 4x4 Cremax TRD Rock Warrior.  Bought it new March of 2012.  Have not had a single issue and had a very positive experience with the Toyota dealer that I bought it from.
  5. Nothing on the side either.  All I ever saw were hens but the gobblers were either MIA or wouldn't come out of the thick woods up in the trees.  Also missed 3 weekends of hunting due to weather, etc. so I have no one to blame but myself.
  6. Saw Hickok45 on his way out the door when I get there today.  Tons of 38 Special otherwise 9mm and .40 were scarce and overpriced.  Gun prices were good too but all I walked out with was a rubber grip for my LC9.
  7. Welcome to the forum!
  8. You will definitely want some type of rubber grip on a Glock Gen 4 though.
  9.   They are from the Putnam County area.  Much more south of you.
  10. Welcome to TN!  My wife is from WV so we spend time there and I do some hunting on her families property during deer season.  You should contact the Friends of the NRA in Middle Tennessee / Davidson County when you get settled in.  What part of WV are you relocating from?  Go Mountaineers!
  11. Thanks for the feedback on the Archery Den.  Sounds like a great place.  Going to swing by there on Saturday afternoon and check it out when I get done turkey hunting.
  12. I'll report back for the Maury County area this Saturday.  Last weekend I saw nothing but hens but the weekend before I talked back and forth with a gobbler for 2 hours who was deep in the woods and would never come out.  Frustrating.  I would have made too much noise going in after him.  The pursuit continues.

  14.   I remember Mr. Boo's.  Used to work out that direction.  Loved that place!  I think Mr. Boo kicked the bucket and they closed it from what I heard.
  15. I'm a fan of 400 Degrees.  Will probably be going there for lunch tomorrow or Friday.  I'm a few weeks overdue.
  16.   Let me know how this place is.  Never been there and am in the bow market myself and will be checking out the Archery Den soon.
  17. Just built out a Chevy Volt - $43,475 with a $7,500 tax credit that you and I are paying for.  If I were to pick between the Volt and the Leaf I'd take the Volt.  Interior is much nicer and has a 9.3 gallon tank to get you through if you wanted to take a road trip or go more than the 38 mile round trip on a full electric charge. I drove a Nissan Leaf a little while back and didn't feel safe.  Drove and felt like I was in a golf cart with doors.
  18. Congrats!  Saw a few hens last weekend but no gobblers.  Will be back at it again this weekend.
  19. Got it.  Thanks for confirming!
  20. I will probably end up contacting the TWRA just to make sure but thought I would see if anyone here knew.  A hunting buddy of mine is unable to hunt this season due to some nerve damage and expected surgery at some point and his Dr. told him no shooting due to the recoil.  I believe the nerve damage is around his neck but otherwise he is able to function just fine.  My question is if he is able to go on the WMA public lands with me to call turkeys without a hunting license?  He will not have a shotgun and will not be shooting.  He does not see much point in buying a sportsman license if he is physically unable to hunt this season but still wants to go and be with some of us while we hunt to do some calling unless a license is required to do that.
  21. I guess it all depends on how my turkey season goes before I decide to drive up there.  If I take a gobbler or two locally before I'm scheduled to go I'll probably pass up on it. The good thing is that my draw is not scheduled until the last weekend of the season so I can wait and make a decision then.  So what's so special about the draw and why does the TWRA do it?
  22. So I received a draw today in the mail for a turkey hunt in Chuck Swan State Forest May 9th through the 11th.  Does anyone know how these quote hunts work?  This is the first time that I've entered into the drawing.  And does anyone know much about Chuck Swan State Forest?  I live in middle Tennessee and have never hunted there.
  23. Good riddance.
  24. Welcome to TGO!
  25. Very impressed with him so far.    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi6gZU01yF8
