  1. Was a great show again this year.  A little too much jewelry and duck calls though.  Picked up on some Hevi-Shot Magnum Blend Shells (3.5" - 2 1/4th) for $30 each.  Hevi-Shot is running a $10 rebate on for up to two boxes right now so that was a bonus.  Retail on those shells are normally around $36 plus tax.  Also picked up a custom made walnut waterproof box call from a company called Tru-Tone Custom Calls to go with the waterproof slate call that I bought from them at last years show.  Lots of good / discounted prices at the show.
  2. I purchased a 2011 Honda Rancher 4x4 ES there and never had any issues.  The sales team and manager were pretty straight forward.  Have also purchased parts there and have continued to go back.  I would definitely get the deal worked out over the phone and a final price set before making the trip as mentioned above though.
  3. Welcome to the forum!

  5. Merry Christmas TGO!
  6.   What part of WV?  I hunt on a family farm in Milton, WV every year.  Great hunting.  The sad part is that an out of state WV hunting license is about to become cheaper than a Tennessee Sportsman License come July 1st.
  7. Someone mentioned Boscos but it is out of business.  Turtle Anarchy is in Franklin and is a favorite of mine.  Has a tap room, etc.  Yazoo and Jackelope are also very good and almost walking distance between each other and are in Nashville off 8th Avenue.
  8.   Agreed.  I hunt in WV every year and buy an out of state license for what TN is about to charge for a Sportsman License.  I also see much more deer in WV and hunt on my families 300 acre farm.  I'll pass on 3 or 4 in a day before I finally decide on one and typically see does that are the size of most bucks in TN.  I will either just hunt WV exclusively or pony up for the lifetime license before July 1st.
  9. I have a 2011 Honda Rancher 4x4 w/ Electric Shift and it's been great.  Bought it new and have put around 223 miles on it.  Has a solid rear axle.  Only thing I might have done different was buy the Foreman instead but will be selling the Rancher in a few years to upgrade to a side by side but my recommendation would be to stick with Honda.  I would check the used inventory at the ATV dealers.  That may provide a little more peace of mind and have some warranty attached to it.  Have heard a lot of good things about the Honda ATV dealer in Chattanooga also.
  10. Never seen 10mm at a Wal-Mart either.  I asked once and was told they don't carry it.  Could have just been specific to the Wal-Mart that I go to.
  11.   I just picked up one recently.  Put a stainless steel guide rod in it.  Anxious to use it.

  13. Have you looked into a 10mm?  It's the equivalent of a .41 Magnum.  I carry it with me when I hunt incase I have an opportunity for a short range shot.  That or encounter a poacher or a 4 legged animal of some sorts coming at me.
  14. Sorry for your loss Dave.  Praying for your family.
  15.   Welcome to TGO.  I'll 2nd the Saddle Shop.  Did a transfer there recently for the first time.  Very easy, no problems and $32.  I was in and out.  Friendly staff.

  19.   No dice over here.  Got blown around by the strong winds in my ladder stand all day and called it quits around lunch time.  Never saw any deer at all.  Probably pass on hunting tomorrow due to the weather.
  20. I'll be near a huge Cabela's while visiting family during Thanksgiving but I don't want to be anywhere near it that weekend.  They usually run some pretty good black Friday bulk ammo deals but not worth fighting the crowds.  I'll be cruising the internet for deals instead if I am not in a tree stand.
  21. 20% off ammo at Dick's Sporting Goods. Looks like it may just be this weekend only.
  22.   Welcome to TN and the forum.  The blaze orange requirement is for all of the deer seasons.  Not required for turkey though.
  23. Just did a transfer from a shop in Texas which will remain nameless.  Was a pain in the butt and I was getting ready to cancel the order for not receiving the gun almost 4 weeks after the order was placed.  Was told it was on the way several times which it wasn't.  Spoke to the owner several times and same excuses and that it's waiting to be picked up and shipped out, etc. and never was.  And then they were going to send me $50 for all the trouble which they never did.  Needless to say I'll buy from the LGS next time.
  24. I used the Saddle Shop on Highway 96 in Triune/Arrington and they were great to deal with.  $32.
  25. I've purchased a lifetime license for my 1st son and purchasing one for my 2nd son soon also.  Lucky them.  lol.    I also hunt in West Virginia on a famly farm every year and pay about $160+ for an out of state license year after year.  I inquired if I could purchase a life time license in West Virginia for $750 and was told no as I was an out of state resident.  Sounds like the same goes for TN and they will not sell life time licenses to non-residents either.
