  1. I buy lots of ammo at Wal-Mart. Can't beat their prices on ammo. That's about the extent of my Wal-Mart shopping though.
  2. Congrats! Took me 3 months to get mine also right after Obama got elected. Now it's no more than 3-4 weeks.
  3. You can kiss our guns goodbye if Obama wins re-election. He has nothing to hold back on with a 2nd term and will also potentially appoint 2 or 3 more anti-2nd Amendment SCOTUS Judges on the bench. Even if you don't like any of the candidates you better press hard for whoever it may be to defeat Barack Hussein Obama.
  4. No gun buster signs at the Mac Authority or Best Buy as far as I know. I buy my Macs there. Won't dare step foot near a mall anymore.
  5. Welcome to the forum!
  6. From Nashville to Memphis has nice rolling hills and a little more flat. From Nashville to Knoxville it becomes more mountainous. Depends on your preference but each is very scenic and has nice land to be found. Best of luck in your search for land in Tennessee. You won't regret moving here and welcome to the forum!

  8. Found this tidbit on the NRA-ILA site: Special Advisory for New York and New Jersey Airports: Despite federal law that protects travelers, authorities at JFK, La Guardia, Newark and Albany airports have been known to enforce state and local firearms laws against airline travelers who are merely passing through the jurisdiction. In some cases, even persons traveling in full compliance with federal law have been arrested or threatened with arrest. As noted above in the section entitled "Federal Law on the Transportation of Firearms," FOPA`s protections have been substantially narrowed by court decisions, and persons traveling with firearms may want to avoid New York and New Jersey or make arrangements to ship their firearms to their destination, rather than bringing them through these jurisdictions. 9. I flew from Nashville to Manchester, NH a few years ago and checked my firearm there and back with no problems at all. The ticketing agent only asked if the ammunition was in the manufacturers package and that my firearm was in a secured/locked hard case. Neither airport asked to see or inspect the firearm. Only fill out a small form that sticks to the case of the firearm. Regarding being diverted to NYC and having a firearm in your possession it seems that the best solution at that point would be to rent a car and drive to the Philadelphia airport 2 hours away which is a much friendlier 2A state than NYC where we also have reciprocity.
  10. I hunt in Columbia / Maury County. Welcome back to TGO.
  11. Live in Nashville also. Welcome to TGO.
  12. Wouldn't have handled the situation any different. Your awareness and actions were spot on. Sounds like general consensus from those that live in the area is to avoid that Wal-Mart though.

  16. Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear that there are still a few professors left that aren't so far to the left that they are about to tip over.
  17. The chamber could be alternated with .410 and .45LC. I don't personally use one for self defense but use a Glock 22 .40 caliber along with a Remington 870 Home Defense. I personally would not want to be hit with a .410 round and then a .45LC right after that or vise verse. It's just more of a versatile firearm that could be used at home for self defense as all that I am saying if a 12 Gauge was not an option and someone lived in a confined area such as an apartment, etc.
  18. If space is constrained in your residence I would recommend the Taurus Judge for Home Defense. They will run you a little more than a 12 Gauge but at least you could carry it with you or keep it in your car.
  19. The Cool Springs Walmart sells them.
  20. Welcome to the forum!
  21. I would recommend a Glock G19.
  22. And find an experienced hunter to go with to help get you started. I would not recommend someone new to hunting to head out by themselves.
  23. This was from February of 2011 but is the 11 Most Dangerous Cities with Memphis being number 6. The 11 Most Dangerous Cities - US News and World Report
