  1. Than once he gets the 3.8'' I can shoot his! But I do wanna thank BrazilNuts for takin me on a tour of the ORSA facilities and letting me shoot his stuff too. Never knew how much a couple cans and a big mud puddle could be once you add an AR to the mix! Oh and to reply to the whole difficulty of concealing a longer barrel, I guess it's just all about your physical size cause I can conceal it comfortably even with the grip being as big as it is. However, 19 rounds does get a tad heavy depending on where you're carrying it.
  2. Red dots are great! You just have to get used to the fact that you have to focus on the target and not the dot and keep both eyes open.
  3. You gotta watch out for those Paparazzi! They're everywhere.
  4. Or maybe that's why you can't see any ninjas. Chuck already killed them all......than put them in the blue dumpster
  5. Welcome from Oak Ridge! Today a .22, tomorrow lookout Barrett .50cal!
  6. I don't need a gun cause I live in a safe neighborhood! (just kidding) I keep my XDM-9 in the night stand along with an extra mag. I just have to practice so I don't pull out a pair of undies along with it!
  7. It's better to just shoot them in the leg
  8. Im wondering about places like Coal Creek Armory which is in Knoxville right off of I40. Or would they be considered a gun store first and the indoor range a side business? Edit: Sorry my browser went nuts. Crazy. I've never thought about where the "limits" are drawn.
  9. What about Coal Creek Armory? Or is that considered a gun store with the range as a side business?
  10. © Commercial indoor shooting ranges. Because of the ultra-hazardous nature of the operation of a commercial indoor shooting range, and because of the potential threat to the safety of the citizens of the city from the operation of such activity, it is hereby declared to be an unlawful purpose to operate an indoor commercial shooting range within the city limits. -How does a place like Coal Creek Armory fit into this?
  11. "Ruger .22 pistols have an excellent reputation for reliability. They seldom jam or otherwise malfunction. They are also simple to take down for cleaning." - Popular online review of Ruger .22
  12. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with Weimaraners? Ours is now 8 months old and is pretty well behaved, most of the time, but is still having trouble with biting and nipping while he's playing. Nothing serious, just kinda annoying being nipped in the butt when you walk down the hall. I've put a link to his pic below if anyone wants to see the little angel. Sorry, I couldn't post the pic from my work computer. OpenDNS
  13. Hmm...I wonder how much a round they charge?
  14. Johnny was a chemist's son but Johnny is no more. What Johnny thought was H20 was H2S04. (sorry not an Obama one)
  15. I actually called too and was told the whole process of waiting for the TBI to get it back to them and blah blah blah...basically was told to wait 90 days. At least they answered the phone!
  16. Makes me itch all over (shiver)
  17. I have already spoken to a couple of ya'll about the possibility of me joining the Oak Ridge Sportsman's Association but am unable to take a tour of their facilities for a little while. I'm wondering if any of our local Oak Ridgers could give me their opinions and maybe some details about the facilites. (Range conditions, trap and skeet pricing, times of operation, etc.) I've just never been aware of a place like this. They seem to have it all.
  18. Definitly looks like something fired from an unsupported chamber. I wonder if they even knew it when it happened?
  19. Does anyone here know anything about Savage Arms' stuff and if they would be considered a good entry level rifle? Here's a link to one I've found. Ignore the scope. It's probably poo. They don't even tell you what brand it is. And yes it does come with the gun, that should tell you. I'm wondering about the rifle itself. Thanks! 20. I guess it all depends on the models you're comparing together. Now that I think of it, on the lower entry level end, both Canon and Nikon compare equally in both categories. Only when you get into the higher end cameras do the Nikons take off with their multi point focusing system. Try the website www.dpreview.com It's got a ton of reviews on new models and lenses.
  21. I love my Canon 40d but the Nikon D40 (confusing I know) are wonderful cameras as well. Basically you have to consider what type of photography you'd be using it for. Nikons usually do better with fast action and Canons do really well with landscape stuff. Lenses are the most important part of the camera so don't stress too much about the body as long as it can handle the bigger lenses and flashes. And remember, more megapixles doesn't always mean a better picture, just able to print it out bigger.
