  1. I think he meant that God was looking out for him by allowing him to have enough money saved for the times when bad things happen. Not that God sent the bad things so he wouldn't be able to get his gun. "The Lord will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." Psalm 121:7, 8
  2. That's why when I save money I don't tell myself what I'm saving for and then I sneak up on something and buy it! I figure things won't break down if they don't know that I'm saving for something I didn't even know that I'm buying in the first place. Sneaky huh? But I do agree with you, the Lord looks out for His own and I'm very thankful for it. Plus, He knows what I'm gonna buy before I do so there's no foolin' Him!
  3. Nice doggy Good thing Dane's are usually couch potatoes. If not than you could always sell tickets for the neighborhood kids to ride him!
  4. No snow in sight here in Knoxville but SunTrust is closing at 3 anyway! Woohoo!

    iPad

It ONLY takes micro-sim cards which means T-mobile's out as well as most other US carriers. Micro-sim is mainly a European thing.

I can agree with those points except the $15 a month for 250mb. That will last an average person a week if they're doing anything with video. Don't get me wrong. I love Apple and only own Apple products but for the people who already have iPhones, I just can't see how this will be a benefit. I mean the larger screen is nice but what can it do that an iPhone can't other than iWork? And even then, there are options for people to edit documents and spreadsheets on the iPhone.

I'm really dissapointed that in order to get the 3g model you have to spend at least $629 plus an extra $30 a month for the data plan. You can easily get a macbook for $999 with almost triple the processing power. Granted it doesn't boot instantly but leave it in standby and it will be almost as fast. I'll be waiting for V.2 as well before I even think about it more seriously. And the name? iPad? Come on...
  8. Yes....Banks hate clowns. We do regular employment checks on our account holders just to see who is a clown and who isn't and drain the accounts of those who are and send their money to those who have been traumatized by clowns in the past. 9. Almost. My dumb self thought it'd be cool to shoot an old tv of my friends so we got the shotgun, hid behind a tree, and tried to shoot it. We didn't realize that the glass in an old tv is about six inches thick so all the shot bounced back and peppered the tree we were hiding behind. We didn't try again.
  10. Anyone know how much admission usually is?
  11. As a banker, I understand that sign more than anything. We won't help you if we can't see your eyes or other distinguishing features. I was working one day and a guy came in with clown makeup on. Well you know what we were all thinking, ah , but it turned out he was just on his way to a gig and needed gas money. Needless to say, we educated him quickly about his lack of common sense and showed him the drive through for next time.
  12. It's called selective hearing! While I'm not in the military I have shot a full-auto Thompson and all I can say is I don't know how the fellas in WWII and later did it. I had 26db muffs on and my ears still rang! I have since started wearing plugs with muffs for all the big stuff.
  13. I don't blame you though! I wish our policy would change and let us carry while we work. I suggested they let us post our shooting range targets in our teller window saying "your teller today is (insert name)"
  14. I work for a bank and I can tell you that it is legal. However, just like people said earlier, it's the people who don't know the law who you have to watch out for. I was subbing at another branch one weekend and a gentleman, who was OC'ing, walked up to a girl at another station. She freaked out, said he couldn't carry a gun into a bank, and threatened to hit her alarm button. I knew she had a tendency to overreact to things so I walked over and told her it's legal since we weren't posted and took the gentleman at my window. She then went on after he left about how guns make her nervous and...
  15. I second the opinion on the Judge but am pretty sure it won't fit in the budget unless you can find one from someone who's wanting to get rid of one cheap. Check gunbroker.com
  16. Looking at me you'd think my family descended from a mixture of donuts, cakes, and other assorted baked goods, but I'm really part Polish, Welsh, and a smattering of American Indian on my dad's side.
  17. Wow...sounds like someone's insecure in his own manhood.
  18. This, my friends, is a good thread! But I would have to say I would have done the same thing the lady did because you never know if he's gonna shoot you and then continue to break into your car. If he runs, so be it, I'll let him run. But until that happens, my gun will be pointed center mass. Too many people get shot even after they hand over thier stuff.
  19. I am trying to find a way I can carry my xdm with me when I take the dog out at ungodly hours of the morning. I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt so I won't have a belt for a normal style holster and the shorts aren't tight enough for me to stuff it in the waist. I've been trying to find a bandolier style holster for a semi-auto but haven't had any luck. I'm just looking for something I can throw over my shoulder right quick without any clumsy straps to mess with like a shoulder holster. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
