  1. Thanks for the info everybody. I'll definitely go into it with my eyes open if I even do. The fact that the guy I spoke with can't even get my name right raised a red flag though and he seemed pushy to set up an interview. Since I'm already a banker, I'm pretty sure they just want me for my client list which just isn't gonna happen.
  2. So I thought I'd see if we've got some insurance guys on here and get some thoughts on a possible job opp I've got going. I sent my resume out yesterday for a Farmers Insurance posting and got a call back almost immediately. Spoke with the recruiter and set up an interview for next Wednesday. however, as i'm researching how these things work it seems like it's almost all commission and not a lot of job security which is what Im really looking for. I also read that the recruiters get paid by the head and don't seem to deal with you much after they get you in. This opinion has just been strengthened by the confirmation email I just recieved where the recruiter didn't even get my name right on the greeting. Has anyone here had any experiences with this type of thing that they can share?
  3. Anybody chases some of the guys I know onto their own property better come prepared. It would look like that scene from Justified where the kid on the bike rides into his yard yelling "Perverts! Help! Perverts!" :)
  4. I think we're talking about the same guy here. I wasn't trying to justify the shooter. I don't see a single thing illegal with what the younger guys did. Notice I said illegal, not smart. You should never pull over to confront a road rager if you can help it, But in the heat of the moment I think they did a great job kicking his rear and stopping when he went down. I don't think they were running away because they were afraid of getting caught, I think they were running away from fear of getting shot.
  5. I thought I read somewhere that the teens, or 20 somethings, drove to their house and then stopped. Maybe I imagined that though.
  6. I hope they have family to take care of that toddler that was in the back seat because they are about to go away for a bit. Stupid people! I admit I've had some choice words for some drivers out there but come on people, THINK before you act! (rant off)
  7. I wouldn't say that the guy being punched was wrong. The shooter is fortunate they didn't also have a gun because it would have been justifiable to shoot him since he started the attack. He's lucky to get away with just a whoopin.
  8. All I could think when I saw the wife bring him the pistol was, "It's Adam and Eve all over again boys!" Always the woman getting the man into more trouble I tell ya. :) :leaving:  :hiding: JK Ladies! These two need to be beaten with a sack full of hammers and fed to the dogs. I can't stand when people like this make us look bad! :wall:
  9. Yeah calm down. We strive for an environment here on TGO where there are no dumb questions. If I got smart with every newbie who came on here asking about best caliber for defense or how to get a HCP I'd tear out my hair, or what's left, from frustration. Plus, I've always wondered about making my own ballistics gel but never took the time to look it up so this thread will even benefit me.   Edit - My apologies to Wew for jumping all over him and not realizing who he was responding to. My fault brother.
  10. This. However, the ground at the plinking range at ORSA can sometimes be hard to get the sign down in so I bring something to start the holes like a crowbar or spike or something.
  11. I've got a Saltmaster brand shaker I'll cut you a deal on for $1400. Trust me, that's a great price. And I'll throw in two bulk cans of salt for just $140. I've got more than $2000 into this whole set up but times are tough. No budging on the prices because anyone willing to question me is an idiot.
  12. Officer: Why did you shoot this man? Father: I was in fear for my life and the lives of my children. He attacked us with a deadly weapon and I responded with one as well. I wasn't able to stop him in time to save my sons but was able to keep him from driving off and killing someone else. I repeat. i was in fear for my life.
  13. Congrats brother! We just had our second kid and all I can say is good luck! :)
  14. I wouldn't call them a church just because they call themselves that. Evil? Yes. Church? Far from it.
  15. I'd like to register my foot in more than a few backdoors in this country.
  16. So far, cross your fingers, nobody has made much of it. If anything, more people are talking about the dangers of teenage drinking than anything so far. And the parents have made statements about how it was a tragic mistake. If I were them, I'd go after the source of the booze.
  17. By straight forward he means inconvenient, time-consuming, mind-numbing...yet worth it all when you finally get your paperwork back. :) The waiting is what drives your crazy. I have heard that Pred. Customs is very helpful with all the paperwork though.
  18. Well I imagine it would be kinda hard to sue if you've just been turned into a greasy stain. :)
  19. This is getting crazy. I had to stop a guy yesterday from buying some 22-250 rounds that, in his haste, he thought were .22lr. I almost didn't say anything but had pity on him. I was able to snag a couple 50 round boxes of winchester super x's though.
  20. Now now. The last thing we want people thinking of when they see a rifle is a drone shooter downer. :)
