  1. A friend of mine sent me this video of a traffic stop in Lenior City. I've already formed my own opinions, but wanted to share this with everyone else for their input. https://youtu.be/SMbJsXLP96g
  2. I for one welcome Beretta to TN. Their customer service amazed me when I had troubles with my ARX 160. Ended up having to swap the entire gun but didn't give me a bit of trouble about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Bushnell TRS 1x25. Great price and durability. Found mine online for $75 on sale. Good battery life too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Other than a rare manufacturing defect, I love my ARX. Some may cringe from the aesthetics but I love the way it shoots and handles.
  5. I've got a silencerco sparrow and am trying to put it on my Beretta arx .22 but have run into a small issue. I thought it would have traditional AR threading at .600 inches so I bought a .200 thread spacer. However, the threading on the ARX is apparently 1/4 of an inch to short with the spacer on so the sparrow doesn't tighten down all the way. But when I try it without the spacer in place the threads protrude 1/4 too far into the sparrow so I'm wondering which is the lesser evil until I can find a smaller spacer, leave a gap inside the sparrow and use the spacer or leave it off and let the threads protrude 1/4 of an inch inside the can? Would either of these two options pose any significant threat to a stainless steel can like the sparrow or am I overthinking this?
  6. Just picked this up today. Tapped out the flash hider pin and put my Sparrow on it. Haven't gotten to take it out for a spin yet though.
  7. Saw a tarantula hawk wasp once while visiting New Mexico. If you haven't seen one in person the thing sounds like a chopper flying over if you're close enough. If you don't like bees or wasps, don't google it. You've been warned.
  8. +1 for Kingston. We just moved from Oak a ridge to Kingston and we love it here! Just far enough out from Knoxville to not feel cramped but still close enough to Oak Ridge Sportsmans Association to go shooting whenever. Midtown is a couple miles from us and was listed as one of the fastest growing areas of Tennessee. Plus, taxes are lower here too!
  9. Thought it was a good stand alone zombie movie but didn't deserve to be based on the book.
  10. Ours on Clinton Highway roped off one half of the dining room due to raw sewage soaked into the carpet but stayed open for business on the other side. Whole place absolutely reeked. We turned right around and have never been back.
  11. Get ready for blood to run in the streets people! :panic:   (Not)
  12. They're decent for keeping your guns out of little hands but don't expect them to be theft proof. Doesn't take much more than a paperclip to get some of their models open.
  13. This is exactly why I'm replacing the screws on my deadbolt strike plates with 3'' screws and getting the electronic ones that auto lock after 30 seconds so if someone forgets to lock the door, it will take care of it for you. Not saying this makes the door impervious but most doors fail at the frame where the locks click shut. Yes, home carry would be great but I can't honestly say I do it all the time. I like running around in my underwear too much!   And those of you who know me know that that might just be enough to scare them off anyway :)
  14. I'd have to retire my britches after that one!
  15. I don't agree with laying blame with the victim ever. I think some are confusing fault with consequences. There are always consequences to our actions. Any actions. Yes, a girl shouldn't have to worry about getting raped at a party, but I also shouldn't have to worry about getting robbed just for walking through some shady neighborhoods around the city. But I do have to worry about that so I choose not to walk through those neighborhoods becuase I know it's a risk Im not willing to take. Rape is never the fault of the victim but your odds can be reduced by not doing certain things or going certain places. In a perfect world a girl would never have to worry about it but we all know this world is far from perfect. We live in a world that has consequences, sometimes very bad ones, One reason I don't drink is that I don't want to ingest anything that lowers my reactions or ihibitions. I don't have anything against anyone who drinks. It's not even the drinking I have a problem with. It's the getting so drunk that you can't control yourself or defend yourself if the need arises that I have a problem with. I know that I certainly wouldn't want my daughter drinking around a bunch of people she didn't know where something like this could happen. Unfortunately we don't live in a world where a girl can go out and party and pass out and not have to worry about anything happening to her. Should she have to worry about this? No! Does she have to worry about this? Unfortunately. We live in a world with evil people who are nothing but animals at heart and will take advantage of people who have their guard down. I will say again. The rape was not her fault. But let's say this wasn't a case of rape, and perhaps a robbery, (see example of me in bad neighborhood) Let's say I chose to fall alseep in said neighborhood and woke up having been robbed of all my possessions. Do I have no personal responsibility at all for choosing to be in the situation im in? Could I have lessened my chances of being robbed by making better descisions? You bet. The girl shoudln't be blamed for what happened to her. But she lives in a world where one of the possible consequences of drinking so much you pass out is running the risk of being raped while others stand by and do nothing to help you.
  16. Yep! Im going through it again for like the third time now. :)
  17. The main thing that irks me about the movie are the "fast" zombies. The book didn't have fast zombies. They were slow, but had strength in numbers. I've never been a fan of the "fast" zombies. Yes, 28 days later was awesome, but for some reason I don't really consider that style of monster a "zombie". More like enraged, rabid, out of control human that happens to want to rip you apart. They're just not that scary to me. I believe that the slow, moaning, brain eating, shamblers have a more powerful psychological effect on me because they are totally opposite of what being a "human" is and that they just keep coming, slow and steady. So unnatural that it just creeps me out. The fast, rabid, ones just remind me of a human being who's just had too many bath salts or meth. Just personal taste I guess.
  18. Welcome! I too grew up with guns but never really got into them until I moved out here about 6 years ago. Bought my first pistol, a springfield XDm 9mm and haven't stopped since! I think you'll find a great group of people on TGO and hopefully find some useful information.   PS - It's only a matter of time now until you get the suppresor bug for those .22's of yours. If you'd have asked me two years ago if I'd ever own a suppressor I'd have told you it was too much trouble, but now I can't think of any better purchase I've made for my .22's!
  19. Book was incredible. It wasn't meant to be one long story but an account of the overall toll that the rising took on humanity and how humans finally started fighting back. The story of the girl at the church and the other about the military finally taking a stand were incredible. The movie however looks nothing like the book and doesn't look to deserve to share the title of the book.
  20. +1 on the sparrow for the .22's. Not the quietest out there but sooooo easy to clean it more than makes up for the few DB you'll gain from the others.
  21. Just had to replace my wife's compressor. Everytime you turned on the AC it would blow warm but the car would also stutter and try to stall and then the engine would start over heating. Turned out to be a bad compressor and a bad condensor fan. They seemed to think that the bad condenser fan could have contributed to the compressor failing because it was working to hard due to overheating.
  22.     I can't wear the face cover either. I have to have the nasal pillows. And yes, I know to what you referring and I agree! :)
  23. The song that never ends from Lamb Chops Play Along
