    AR15 .22LR

Looking for suggestions on a AR15 in .22LR for my son as christmas gift. Been looking at the Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22. Any other suggestions or advice on makes and models of that weapon in .22 caliber?
  2. Survival Discussion Question: What is the first step, in any survival situation, that must be made in order to positively affect survival? What do you need in order to take this "first step"?
  3. My idea for a truely awesome gun show a location with some sort of gun range as part of it. Find that used whatever. See how it fires. Now that would be nice..
  4. Purchased a new vehicle and have to get a new license plate. Since there isn't a state issued TGO plate considering the TN NRA license plate. Like to support NRA however at same time am I giving away to much by having one. I don't show Handgun Carry Permit when I have to show ID,always carry concealed and just concerned about letting bad guys know and loose what little element of surprise there might be. Anyway have one and if so why? Considered and decided against if so why? Any reasonable thoughts on subject appreciated
  5. Just fired up my browser and started doing my nightly websites review. What websites do you check on a daily/routine basis? Obviously something other than TGO and no porn please. AK advice

Never owned a AK only shot a couple here and there. So don't really know a lot about them. A buddy of mine is selling off a few guns in his collection. He is selling a yugoslavian made ak47 and wants to know if i am interested. What does anybody know about Yugoslavian made ak's? Good quality? Bad quality? Any advice appreciated.
  8. Speaking as only one of the three of us that stayed for the OC Class it was a quality class as well. However just cant say it great class anytime you get to be OC Sprayed.
  9. Just curious if anyone has taken this class and how it was?
  10. Just paid for 5 stickers and when hats and patches become available l am down for at least 3 hats and 2 patches.
  11. You might think a 3-year-old would whiz through security. A child is non-threatening, wears slip-on shoes, and carries little luggage. Mandy Simon suffered through a TSA pat down. Not the case for Mandy Simon who was passing through security with her dad at the airport in Chattanooga, Tenn. A TSA employee gave Mandy the pat down and she started screaming and kicking her legs. Her dad, Steve, happens to be a TV reporter and caught 17 seconds of the ordeal on his cell phone Why was Mandy searched in the first place? She started crying when she was asked to put her teddy bear through the X-ray machine. This made it difficult for her to walk calmly through the metal detector and she set the machine off twice, which meant she "must be hand-searched." If the TSA is going to search kids, maybe they need a little training on how to do it--or at least employees should have a few lollipops or stickers in their pockets. 12. Will bring a couple of tables. Chips and some drinks. Doing a Wally world run tonight. We got everything else covered ? My son and myself really excited to be coming.
  13. Would have to disagree about aggravated assault charges outcome. Scenario I described is based on real situation and outcome of idiot arrested was correct. Only detail I changed was person defending themselves was a female. Reading the story got to me thinking about edc and carrying something in addition to gun and knife. Reason I posted my question just curiosity. I agree with force on force training however. Don't remember who said "Proximity negates skill" and "everything at contact distance is an emergency" These two thoughts argue persuasively for those less lethal options that control from a distance before force and force is needed.
  14. Think your missing the situations I am referring. An idiot intentionally bumps into you at wally world while you’re shopping. You turn to see who’s assaulted you and you’re met with, “What the eff is your problem?†You apologize and attempt to back way, but your antagonist persists, walking closer and changing his stance to more of a fighting stance and points his finger in your face while spitting expletives in your direction. You place your off hand up, palm outward to check his forward movement if he comes closer while you drop back your strong-side foot and ready yourself for fight or flight. You reach into your rear pocket grabbing your oc spray, stating (as witness will later attest), “Listen, I don’t want any trouble.†Aggressively moving in toward you with clenched fists raising, the idiot yells, “Trouble? I’ll give you trouble.†You draw your OC spray and your thumb finds the button. You yell, “Get back!†as you step to the side and hose the idiot with a face full of OC spray. His thoughts of aggression are now neutralized. Backing away you now draw your cell phone with your off hand and dial 911. Store security arrives just before the local cops handcuffing the idiot with him whining about his face burning. It’s this kind of situation or those drunken (or sober), angry, threatening, pushing persons preparing to throw a punch that I cannot otherwise avoid. Yes I carry a concealed pistol and a knife but they are reserved for deadly encounters.
  15. Just curious what other forms of non deadly options you carry. Got to thinking about effective options in between punching and kicking and deadly force. There is obviously a vast area between these two. Police carry taser and oc spray to help cover some of those. What do you carry or do you?
