  1. Lol, Nutcase and TDR. It would almost be enough for a trim piece.

It resides in the ditch now. Headless.

    oh you're KIDDING!

    Maaan!!

those guys are great for keeping mice outta the house, they also eat insects like cockroaches. they're the PERFECT house pet...they don't like other people or animals, just their food...so they stay out of sight. They're non- venomous (its a corn snake man!!!)

The only detractor I can think of is that women are afraid of them because they're a snake.

I had a friend that kept one in his house..he loved it during the winter...when the mice and chipmunks would invade his attic and the rest of his house, the snake was on the job and he didn't have to worry about them.

  2. actually, I made the same sort of argument, nolo. the .32 actually has better penetration than a .380! I didn't know it until someone I trust actually told me to go to www.theboxoftruth.com and check it out.

As for the keltec p3at, they're great little pistols!

I had one and traded it away (yah, I know...still kicking myself). I shot 500 rounds before I ever cleaned it. not one hiccup out of it. no failures at all of any sort.

In my opinion, even though they're plastic, they're great little mouseguns! they don't have the soul of a hand crafted steel pistol like the colt vestpocket but they're great for what they do!

  3. I logged on the night of the shoot with a long list of thank you's and good to see you's. somehow I got logged out(guess I should have typed faster).

I really enjoyed meeting all the new faces and definitely had fun staying up till 4am talking with Mark and Suntzu.

Katy, I loved shooting with you guys. I was tempted to ask your Hubby to let me shoot his lever action but I got sidetracked.

As for the Mauser, it's a nice, straight shooting rifle and you're welcome to shoot it when ever I have it at the shoots. I was impressed that you chose it over the Garand!

I especially enjoyed talking to Gunslinger707 and his whole family! great folks!

There were so many more to say hi to and to thank for coming (Jan and Plinkerbell, pontiac to name a few that I remember)...but I am tired and have a lot to do tomorrow.

thanks to EVERYONE for coming...and especially thanks to Mark@sea and Sue for putting the shoot on.

I especially liked the medals that you guys got!!

someone should post a picture of one of them up!!!

  4. In my opinion, any one of these rifles are great rifles! Ammo for the 8mm mauser can be had if you know where to look...most of the cheaper ammo is corrosive so you'll have to give your rifle a bath after shooting and THEN clean it...but this isn't so bad when you consider how much you paid for it.

The Swiss K-31 is an excellent rifle and to the best of my knowledge, the only ammunition that the swiss government makes for it is match grade ammunition.

One of the things to look for is to ensure that the weapon is in good working order, not too worn. ensure the stock is in good condition..it's my understanding that it seconded for a hammer to pound tent stakes when one wasn't available.

The Mosin Nagant? very cheap. accuracy is within a "minute of man" and they're lots of fun to shoot!

again, as with all rifles like this, pick the one that is the least worn and has the best furniture...sometimes these things aren't going to be on the same rifle. Therein lies the fun!

the more you learn, the more fun you'll have collecting and shooting them.

hope I helped in some small way.

  5. If there's going to be a spinner target, I'll bring my 39A. Haven't got it out for some time.

I was thinking the same thing..plus, there may be some youngsters that would rather shoot .22! so why not give them a nifty target to shoot?

I will also be bringing an 8mm mauser and a .308 enfield ...the Ishapore.

now where did I put my turban?

  6. It will really be good to see you guys! there's a zombie attack at the range? wooot! excellent!

I will be bringing a goodly assortment of cans (tomato paste is awesome...) and I'll bring a spinner target for 22 rifles..please don't shoot my wife's spinner target with anything other than a 22..she'll kill me.

I've been looking forward to this for the past few months!

  7. I have made arrangements to be there also! Julie has to work, but I'll be down for a few days. I'm REALLY looking forward to this!

It will be good to see the old faces as well as new ones...and really nice to shoot service rifles again.

I will be bringing the Yugo mauser, m44, the Ishapore .308 cal Enfield, and the 1866 Yellowboy. Pistols will probably include the EMP, the pa-63 and the I think that's enough for me..I'll be days cleaning them afterwards...but I'll also bring my lantern to fire up.

  8. I noticed your location is London, Ky. There are more than a few Bubba's up there... I'm originally from Monticello, Ky.

The real name is James. Same as my dad's. Whatever you do, don't ever give your kids your same first name and middle initial! That's kinda no man's land: not really a junior but can't use their first name either.

I'm a transplant to Ky. this is my wifes' home town. I have NO problem with folks named Bubba. I know a couple of Bubba's that are genuinely good people. smart, articulate and capable.

if you think being a Bubba is bad, try having a snooty name and speaking with an accent.

My name is Elliott...I'm neither fish nor fowl nor good red meat when it comes to that sort of stuff..

  9. Not to be too tinfoil hattish, but I'm pretty suspicious that this populist fury is being groomed for some reason, perhaps as a distraction from who knows what other stuff.

I frankly expect to hear my fellow citizens think and say stuff like this. No, I don't hold the average American citizen in very high regard. What bugs me is that I'm not seeing our elected officials trying to calm people down or take a longer view. Instead, I see some of them actually contributing to the fury.

IMO, the congressman that suggested that AIG executives should either resign or commit suicide ought to be sent home packing. That kind of language has no business coming from our representatives.

This wasn't a congressman. this was posted in response to a memo posted by the Washington post by an AIG exec that defended his bonus.

Now, we see the government suggesting legislation that will allow THEM to seize any privately owned business that could fail.

    Coincidence?

  10. As you can guess from my ID, I don't have a problem with Bubba. I've been Bubba for 30+ years.

It was fun when I worked for an international company. I'm known by several people in Canada, Europe, and Asia as "Bubba". Most of them don't even know my real name... I even have it on my business cards -- at my boss's urging.

    Its not Harold, is it?

    :D

  11. Obama using the military??? I don't think this moron has the balls or leadership. He's a small time thug in bigtime politics. Just look at his floundering with the current situations facing the country.

I agree. I mean it was what? 30 days into his term of office when he told the Brit's that he didn't mean to snub them but he was "overwhelmed"???

yah..THAT'S a term I want to hear from our leader...

    WUSSY!
