  1. I would think that in a situation like that, I'd call the police station back, ask to speak to the guy's supervisor or the chief and then let him know about that call...

if at any time you think something isn't right when dealing with a law enforcement officer, ask them to call their supervisor!

this isn't a slight on the officer and they shouldn't take exception to it. If anything they will welcome the extra help with an obstinate citizen!

This little bit of common sense will save miles of trouble. Much like the guy who got slammed for his pistol showing in Knoxville a few years ago. Turned out that the cop was at fault. The Chief of Police ended up writing an apology to the citizen.

Don't count on that happening in your case but having more than one cop on the scene keeps a dirty cop from doing anything dirty and gives a good cop the peace of mind in knowing that they're not in the situation alone..and since YOU demanded the supervisor, they don't look like a wussy.

    :)

If they refuse to call their supervisor, call 911 immediately!

  2. Cool, No problem on the Napkins, However is there a convenience store there close? Last time I used my big cooler I left it in a buddies car and don't have it right now, but if there is a store there close where I could get some ice...It should be fine til I get it there if someone else has a big cooler they could bring?

    oh yes..there's a store nearby..and I've got a couple of coolers, I can bring one or 2.

Mark also has a couple...heh..that's like saying there's a drop of water in the Mississippi.

  3. Grab 'em. I bet if I went to the county transfer station, I could find all the signs I want!!

    Will do!

someone bring some tape to tape up the targets..or a decent stapler! mine's out of staples and I went and bought the wrong stinkin size staples like a doofus.

  4. If anyone needs .40 ammo, let me know and I'll bring it along. I have about 150 rounds that I don't need since I got rid of my SW40VE.

Bring it anyway...likely you can swap it for something at the meet! :stunned:

Truth to tell, it'll be great to see you guys again!

I've been too long gone from home...Julie just remarked that she found the drive in over here..it's about 5 minutes from the house...and said "I'm in heaven..I'm never leaving!!!"

You don't know how happy that made me.

  5. So far, that's 9 folks not including mark or sue, correct?

I can get the beef hot dogs and some bubba burgers also along with the buns.

Does anyone want to bring condiments?

    Mayo, mustard and ketchup?

if nobody calls the condiments I'll get some squeezable ones.

  6. I wish someone in Knox did this.

    MIKE!! I'm surprised at you!!!

If you want a class on distance shooting, give me a call, or if you can talk mark into it....

    :stunned:

Bear in mind that mark is a better teacher than I am and he has the benefit of the extra training that the navy rifle/pistol team offered and has actually trained folks in prep for camp perry competitions.

Me? I just have the army training.

  7. I'd have to go with the katana also.

the sword has been around almost as long as the spear and the club and is a very good close in defensive as well as offensive weapon.

The reason I'd pick a sword over a club?

with a club, you usually get only 1 swing, and it had better be the right one, against a skilled and sometimes even just an aware opponent.

the sword gives you more options.

  8. This Saturday, 29th of May? Julie said she may decide to cook something to feed the troops, so to speak.

Julie and I will be there, btw. I think she's been itching to shoot a little this summer..of course this means it's time for me to make sure her desert eagle is cleaned and ready and reload another 100 rounds of .45 for her.

Also, I guess I need to reload another 100 rounds or so of 30-06 for "Darwin"..my M1 Garand. ;)

hey..since we're gonna all be getting together, does anyone have anything they want to swap out?

If you do, bring it and we can do some horse trading while we're there!

  9. It's done and the system that the founders put in place hasn't worked, it's been ignored!

I despise sex offenders. Still, every man or woman should not be held without Just cause.

if they have served their time, then according to the founders, they are free to re join society.

IF they have done something SO terrible that they should not be let back into society, either ensure that their sentences are so long that they never see the outside world again, or put them to death.

Once the government has the power to hold someone without due process and for no reason, you can bet that they'll use that power. They already have, with the patriot act.

Make no mistake. rebellions have been fought over this very thing.

    (remember Bastille day anyone?)

Because they hold indefinitely someone that you or I think should be UNDER the jail instead of in it, is of little regard. Will you cry out when they hold someone you DON'T think should be held?

  10. I see a couple of blanks, One looks like a spear point, not an arrowhead, and the one on the bottom left looks like either a blank, a knife or a scraper...not sure which as I'm no expert.

google "arrowhead types" and you'll get a lot of info!
