dlm37015 replied to zgunbear's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
i never saw a 240 230 and 200 yes but i try to learn something every day o use montana gold 230 round nose as they feed best for me -
i was at a gunshow in ky and saw an ak set up for 460 of 500 with the rims turned off anybody ever see one of these
-
they shoot real good with proper loads and there would be a small loss of bullet speed but not enough to worry about the 11.5 inch barrel with a 1-10 1-12 twist makes a very good platform when used with 55.62 grain bullets
-
mine have colt uppers and colt barrels that were 20 inch hbars but have been cut to 11.5 inches not trying to sell you one but tou can build one for 200.00 bucks or less if you build one be sure tio get a slower twist barrel it makes a great rifle out to 250 yards and with 55 grain hornady sx bullets you wouldnt belive what it will do to a praire dogs
-
i have an extra upper like that its not an oly but i built seversl of them years ago catch me in knoxville at the next show i will bring one with me i like them because i built thrm with slow twist barrels makes a great home or car gun

been using the same lyman for 40 years have others but still have the lyman utube is also a great place to learn about reloading
-
i have several progessave presses i sell several hundred presses a year i teach several people each month how to reload.if someone is getting into reloading for speed alone thats the wrong reason .to realy understand reloading you have to load on a single stage .if you are loading rifle ammo you can load it faster on a single stage loading machine gun fodder is fine on a progressave but i think you load better ammo on a single stage press .my typeing skills are not too good but i have most progressave presses from a lee 100 to a camdex and ammo load with all the dillons in between if you want to try them just ask i have found with most progressave presses it takes to long to change cal. and primers sizes so if you are not loading several 100 rounds i can load them on my lyman before you can get set up if you want to load fast get a camdex comes set up for 1 size round will load 6000 rounds an hour thats work i reload for fun
-
if you are going to buy a progressave go gray get a camdex forget about dillon if you want to learn how to reload give me a call david 615-497-4205i live near nashville have several presses set up including at least 1 of all the dillons including a 330 his first but most people are better served learning how to load on a single stane press the biggest thing about reloading is to not get in a hurry or you will forget something also the nra has a very good book on reloading

bill goodman is in very bad health but his son david still runs the shows rk did not buy them out -
find you a good 98 mauser send it to shaw in pa have them put a 458 on it that is rhe cheapest way to go
-
577 nintro cost about 65.00 per round if i have the brass and use a cast bullet it cost about 40 cents thats a no brainer sometimes you can find cheap cheap ammo for less than reloading your own but why would you put that crap in your gun when you can load much better ammo for less money than you can buy if you are going to compare handloads with cheap store bought ammo dont compare good brass cased ammo with steel cased crap or something else
