  1. I prefer to support local businesses whenever possible. I've also had good experiences at Ensley's and Gunny's, but I felt compelled to spread the word about Bill's since he has great prices and I have know doubt he'll take care of any problems that should arise.
  2. The gun looked clean. I might have kept it if it was a few FTEs, or FTFs, but after shooting 20 or so rounds it wouldn't cycle correctly even one time. It was a used gun he had taken on trade so who knows what the real issue was???? ... When he tested it he used different mags so that may have been it. I don't know but I'm sure he'll figure it out and make sure it is right before he sells it so someone else and it was used anyway so he's not really out anything. I didn't expect a refund, even though he offered one. He was so eager to take care of it that I wanted to use the credit to get something from him. I also appreciate the fact that he offered to order something for me. It just so happened that he just got the LCR, I said "that will work" and that was that. I'm not sure what you meant by "better treatment than needed"; but I do expect a gun to work when I buy it, especially when I buy the ammo at the same time and buy what the shop owner recommends. I didn't expect to be offered all my money back or for him to special order something else for me (which he offered). I hope his customer service will serve him well in the long run. I'm spreading the word about great prices and great service.
  3. I bought a used beretta from Bill wanting a .22 to shoot with and also wanting a pocket gun for the rare occasions when my G26 is too big to carry. I know a .22LR isn't great but I figure it's better than nothing right? Besides it was an impulse buy since the stainless INOX finish was sweet and it was the first pocket gun that I found good looking. The Beretta had one FTF and FTE after another when I fired it at Gunny's the next day. What would Bill do? He offered to refund my money, or order me anything I wanted even though he thoroughly cleaned the gun and then he couldn't get it to fail. I had lost my faith in it by that time. I ended up getting a brand new Ruger LCP to get the pocket gun category covered. BTW, I actually pocket carry my G26 often, but it just doesn't work with some clothes, and my wife recently called me out for "printing", although I'm convinced no one else notices. Anyway, I wanted to post for great customer service and great prices at Bills. I put 50 rounds of FMJ and 10 rounds of Winchester PDX JHPs through the LCP today without 1 hiccup. I'll probably put a few more through it before I feel comfortable carrying it, but it's nice to know I've got something I can easily stick in my pocket when circumstances don't allow me to carry a real gun. As for a .22, I'm looking into just getting a conversion kit for one of my Glocks.* *Mods, I wasn't sure where to post this so please move it if there is a more appropriate place.
  4. Ding Ding Ding!!!! We have a correct answer!!!
  5. A smoothie with peanut butter, coffee, bannana, and something chocolate in it.
  6. He signed legislation which included a revision to the National Park carry.
  7. Thanks for the reminder that Easter is much more important than bunnies and candy!
  8. I've got Glocks, and I know That LEM is an HK design. Who makes the DAK trigger?
  9. Thousands of Cops can't be wrong. It all depends on your build and your style of dress whether you can easily carry a full size. They will probably shoot better than a smaller gun so if you can conceal it, I'd say go for it.
  10. I should have read posts b4 I replied. PJman summed up my feelings exactly.
  11. Congrats! Your life will never be the same again. Make sure you get as much sleep as you can now!
  12. Yes, they have been spotted in NYC. The wife pointed it out to me when they mentioned it on "Good Morning America" or whatever morning show she was watching as I was leaving for work the other day. Here is a really good article that explains the rise of the eastern coyotes and how they are actually more dangerous than their western counterparts. Coyote Attacks | Outside Online
  13. I voted IWB but I also pocket carry my Glock 26 in an Aholster. I would carry OWB if my build and style of dress allowed. I'd like to have a nice paddle or pancake holster but I'm not sure how much I'd use it.
  14. G 36 is single stack. It's the thinnest Glock. Definitely thinner than the G19 and G26 that alternate as my carry guns. Glock for all the reasons stated by 10mm4me.
  15. I vote Glock. I like the feel of the Kahrs but they seem to have a "break-in" period which I don't like on prinicple.
  16. I believe that XD has taken plenty of lessons from Glock.
  17. If you're concerned about parts availibility and reliability, I can't think of any reason not to do the mech tech conversion with a Glock 17.
  18. I'm looking for a trainer/plinker; I'm considering a Walther P22 or the Austrian Arms Glock 19 clone (.22).

    A-team

Of course I like the Dukes. That's why I had high hopes for the movie. Unfortunatly, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Maybe my hopes were too high but I thought it was a little plot-weak. Hopefully the A-Team will be better.

    A-team

Like many of you, if I saw the show now, I'm sure I'd hate it. That said, I can't help but like it now, because I liked it so much as a kid. I hope the movie isn't a total disappiontment ie...Dukes of Hazard
  21. +1; I really like the size and how the triggers feel when I've handled them. But, I've just seen too many incidents like this to pay the price premium they command.
  22. Not a gimmick at all. I think the only reason it's not more popular is that so many of us don't like to buy something that we're not certain we can find ammunition for. As stated above, I think it would be sweet if Glock, M&P, Or Springfield would make one. It would probably only take one manufacturer to bring down the price of the guns and increase the availablity of the ammo.
  23. Uh, No. If he's got to keep his kid out of his stuff he needs to do it now, not when he's saved and budgeted $2,000, or so. My kid is 20 months now and he's lots of fun but he's at times he becomes a small, unstoppable whirlwind. His favorite place to play is in my closet and around my bedside table. After seeing how easily he defeats most of the Babies R' Us childproofing junk, I keep my guns locked up and I don't trust anything to keep him out unless it would deter an adult. I'm looking forward to seeing the answer to his question in his price range. He can always get a nicer safe later and just use whatever he buys now for ammo and accessories.

    Bushmaster M4?

No way, it's probably worth $200 to $250 at best. Just PM me for my number and I'll arrange for a quick payment.
