  1. Is the Tula safe in Glocks?
  2. Has anyone seen one of their complete builds? I've been told they use a lot of Rock River Arms parts. I like the idea of buying local but I'm new to these and I'd like more info.
  3. I have an 870 Police and to me the action feels smoother than the Mossbergs but I think they are both quality guns. My vote would be to steer clear of a pistol grip.
  4. I have a Crossbreed Supertuck. I bought it for my Glock 19 but it works with all my Glocks. Which one is determined by how concealed I want to be that day. I have a slim build and the 26 absolutely disappears with just about any shirt.
  5. +1 for a Glock 19 or Glock 26. A 26 can be concealed by almost anyone.
  6. If the recoil is that big a deal, I'd recommend trading your 27 for a 26. You can't have mine. I like .40, but not in a gun that small.
  7. Since you are in Knoxville you should check out Mast General Store. I know what you're thinking... That's a semi-trendy, over-priced touristy place... Believe it or not they actually have manufacturer sample sales in from time to time. About 2 years ago someone tipped off my wife and I got a really nice Mountain Hardwear jacket with a zip-out liner at 50% off and got a great deal on a vest for the wife. They had a selection of Columbia, North Face, and Mountain Hardwear. I also have a really puffy down North Face jacket that I got on Ebay when I was in law school (read broke). It is a little warmer but I'm actually doing anything active I prefer the MH with a thin wool sweater underneath. It is comfortable in a surprisingly wide temperature range. You may want to ask the employees about the manufactur sample sales. I think they do them once or twice a year. You may also check out Campmor and Sierra Trading Post. They often have discontinued styles of North Face, Mountain Hardwear, and Columbia.

    Rule #23

This exactly. Add to that it must be black.
  9. My current handguns are Glock 19, Glock 26, Glock 17(Gen4), Glock 22 (Gen 3RTF2) and a Ruger LCP. They are all defensive/carry guns. They are tools. They may not be collectible, sentimental or pretty, but they are all reliable and I'm comfortable with them. The only bad handgun I ever bought was a Beretta Bobcat. It would FTE constantly. Not reliable or powerful enough to carry and too small fun at the range either. It was replaced by a combination of a .22 conversion kit and the LCP.
  10. I've just had my permit since January. I took an "advanced marksmanship" class at Coal Creek last Spring. I'd like take at least one class a year for a while. I'm also interested in some type of home defense shotgun class if I can find one in my area.
  11. I second the Order of Protection. I've filed tons of OPs in Knox County. PM me if you have questions. I'll also be in the office (450-3333) Monday afternoon.
  12. I do family law as well. It is incredibly volitile and very emotional.
  13. When I got my permit I only got it because my work sometimes sends me to ask tough questions to difficult people in parts of town I wouldn't normally travel to. Since I've had my permit, however, I carry almost everywhere it's legal.
  14. I vote trade. I really like my G22.
  15. Anyone in the Knoxville area with experience working as a paralegal, legal secretary, or a law student? I'm a solo-practice Attorney with a para-legal who is on maternity leave. If I keep working Saturdays and coming home after dinner my wife is not going to be happy. I'd be willing to talk to anyone who could start soon to come in a few days a week to catch the phone and keep me from getting too far behind on basic paperwork (think billing and filing). I got a pm a while back from a TGOer who had just started law school. I had just hired my paralegal at that time and had another law student working 30 hours a week last summer. I can't find your pm. I do criminal defense, family law, & personal injury. I promise it's not boring. This would be hourly contract work for now... basically temp to hire. If I stay as busy as I have been lately, I may keep you after my paralegal comes back... email resumes to my reedlawfirm@yahoo.com The office line is 450-3333.
  16. +1 for apdopting a dog through TGO. We adopted our Boxer from a TGO member last spring (with some hesitation from the wife)and he's a great dog. The wife even recently remarked that he's a better dog than the Cocker Spaniel that we've had for six years. Great looking dogs you've got there.
  17. I have a G26 in my Aholster right now. IWB with an untucked shirt is my favorite carry mode but it usually doesn't work well for me since I wear suits and tuck my shirt in most of the time. The G26 is too big for pocket carry jeans but works fine in most of my dress pants and/or Khakis.
  18. Plus 1 for the 5.11 belts. I have 2 and they work fine, are reasonably priced, don't cost a ton, and best of all, they don't look like you're trying to be GI JOE. Plus 1 to the Glock suggestion as well. I've got a similiar build to you and my Supertuck at about 5:00 is the most concealable option I've tried for IWB.
  19. And just how are lawyers not professionals?
  20. .357 or you'd have to change your name.
  21. I am rigjt-handed and left-eye-dominant. Not really a big deal since I shoot handguns with both eyes open. I have a shotgun which I also shoot right-handed using only my right (weaker) eye. I've not shot it nearly as much as my handguns so I haven't given it much thought. I'm considering a rifle for my next purchase. Although I shoot handguns often, I didn't grow up around guns so I have very little experience with rifles. I know that some guys keep both eyes open with holographic sights but I'm not sure if I should consider learning to shoot left-handed before buying a rifle. What do you guys think?
  22. Gunny's in Maryville used to offer one that was broken up over two weekdays. You might want to call them at (865) 233-3471. According to their website they have a class from 6-10pm next Monday and Tuesday. Gunnys Indoor Shooting Range
  23. I've got a 3 season and I've also been fine into the 20s as well. This was with a good mummy bag of course.
  24. Looks to be natural gas, not meth.
  25. I don't even like 1911s (I'm a simpleton) and I've got to admit that's a sweet piece.
