I ended up upgrading a part on my new Glock that was bugging me and that was the takedown tab. To me the factory one seemed too sunk in for me to manipulate it properly so I got the extended version. It seems to make a difference without sticking out too far. So far I've put 300+ rounds though it with ZERO malfunctions. My next upgrade will be the Ameriglo Bold sights. The stock ones just aren't all that great. But so far so good with everything else.

This was an advertisement for FSU back in the 60's. A young Jim Morrison had a minor role in it.

Back in the cassette days I probably had every Doors album with the exception of some of the live and bootleg albums. Too many songs to list I like from them. If I ever get to go to Paris I'd like to visit his grave there.

Here's another good version of Guitar Boogie. The Quin Tikis were talented musicians. They'd blow people away on today's talent shows. Watch closely at what they are doing. That takes some serious skill and coordination to pull it off.

Maybe a "greatest hits" edition?

Maybe all NRA members could write or call the board of directors if they have one and demand that the leadership be overhauled. Dunno if they would listen or not. If the organization wants to survive then changes must be made or the NRA will stand for Not Relavent Anymore.

Do Glocks require any break-in period? I haven't been able to find a definite answer. Some say it doesn't need a break- in and some say shoot at least 500 rounds through it. I've only put 100 rounds through mine so far. I plan to test it more this weekend.

I feel we need honest and transparent dealings with a pro 2nd Amendment organization as the detractors are looking for anything they can find to paint gun owners as "evil" people

Been looking at joining a pro- Second Amendment organization again. I used to be a member of the NRA but with all the turmoil going on with them, I'm hesitant. Should I join the GOA instead? Granted the NRA has a large following but GOA seems to have some clout too. Should I join both? Thanks in advance

100 yards is pretty dang good for a pistol. They may have had Hickok45 training them..

Glocks usually eat most any brand of ammo. I'd did have some issues with the aluminum cased stuff in my G23. Does the G19 Gen 5 have a preferred brand(s) that it likes more than others? I plan on feeding it 115g Speer Gold Dots or maybe some HSTs.

I finally broke down and bought me a Glock G19 to add to the 'family". I did some research about the Gen 5 and most reviews were favorable. It all started last weekend while I was at GT Distributors. I was looking at a used G19 Gen4 but really wanted the newest version. I was told that if I signed up with the GSSF, I could get a Gen 5 at a reduced cost. I signed up for a 2-year membership on Monday and got the packet on Wednesday. It contains a coupon good for the purchase of a new Glock pistol. I'll also get another coupon next year. I went back to GT and they had 2 G19s left so I went ahead and picked one up. The cost for the pistol was $425 plus background check with my coupon. I think the one I got may be the first version of the Gen 5 as it has the slide serrations on the front of the slide as well as the rear. It also doesn't have the "scallop" cut-out on the front strap that some people don't like. I took it to the range and put 100 rounds through it with no issues. I like the fact that they incorporated the smaller grip with add-on back straps like the Gen 4 models. I think it fits my hand a little bit better than my G23 Gen 3. I also like the fact that the holsters I have for my G23 will work with this one since they are roughly the same size.

Oh no. I always enjoyed his reviews. He'll be missed

What would've been real funny is if he could've had R.Lee Ermey as a guest and he would make a painting while talking like he did in Full Metal Jacket...
-
He was a cool dude. So laid back and made painting look easy. I was reading his bio one time about his stint in the Air Force where he had a leadership role and would have to yell at people. He said once he left the service, he told himself he would never raise his voice to people again.

Got a friend who's brother bought a Sota Arms AR-15 at a gun show. I have never heard of them. From what reviews I've read about them, they seem kinda of hit or miss in the quality department. Anyone here ever heard of them or has one? Are they any good? Thanks.

I think a dash cam would be a good idea but I do have a question. I assume most if not all come with a microphone to record audio. Let's say you are stuck in the middle of a situation and while assessing the situation you utter some ill or choice words about the situation or the people causing the mayhem to either yourself or a passenger. If the situation were to require deadly force to save yourself or a loved one, I would think the audio may discredit the use of force because you showed some type of negative "bias" or "ill-will" prior to using force. I don't know if most people would remember that their words are also being recorded and think about what they say while a situation unfolds. What's y'all's thoughts?

So sorry for your loss. It can be as hard losing a pet as it is a human relative. They are family. When the world seems cold and cruel, our pets are always there to show us unconditional love. To them we are their world. It takes time to heal before looking for a new pet /friend/family member. When the time comes, I think sometimes they will find us first. My boxer Sami turned 6 not long ago. We got her when she was 8 weeks old. Today she is starting to show some gray. I dread to think of the day when she leaves us. Edit: I do want add that I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that her final moments she felt love and safety in the arms of her hero. She was able to slip away to the Rainbow Bridge knowing that one day you'll meet again

I think SC has a duty to notify LEOs law if you are licensed to carry and are armed. -
As Johnny Cochran used to say...If it doesn't fit, you must aquit

Sadly many have relied on Hollywood to get their "facts" and "history lessons". Kinda like the "wild West" They like to throw that term up when it comes to guns. If they made an accurate movie on the "wild West", it'd probably be the most boring movie ever. There weren't shootouts every 5 minutes. Yeah there times people did bad things but not the frequency that Hollywood portrays it.
