  1. Thanks to everyone for the feedback. One of the more tedious aspects of prepping the loader was adjusting the powder dispenser. It's kind of a trial and error process it seems. Maybe there's and easier or faster method? You have to loosen the "locking collar" and then make adjustments to the screw and then tightening the collar back without turning the screw. Not the correct terms I think but you probably know I mean.
  2. I think I found a winner. It's made by Lyman and a little cheaper than the Wheeler one. Plus I discovered it also has 1/32" adjustment markings. Anyone ever used one of these? It's been out for about a year. https://www.amazon.com/Lyman-AccuSight-Pistol-Installation-7031287/dp/B084RF37D7/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=lyman+sight+pusher&qid=1611542362&sprefix=Lyman+sig&sr=8-4
  3. I looked at the MGW and the Wheeler pushers and am leaning towards the Wheeler at the moment.
  4. Thanks for the input. I recently had some Ameriglo Bold night sights installed on my Glock 19 and it would be nice to have a pusher on hand at the range to make any adjustments on the spot. I am also looking at adding night sights to my RI 1911 and that would make it easier.
  5. I've been looking at a sight pusher to use on my Glocks and 1911. I seen a few on Amazon but don't know if they are any good or not. I would like to find one that maybe has index marks on it to gauge how far the sight has been moved. Do they make such a pusher?
  6. The thing I got to looking into is whether to go with a simple set up or maybe a progressive system. He uses a manual scale as he doesn't totally trust the digital scales. Any pros or cons to either?
  7. I was offered the opportunity by a coworker/friend to stop by their place today and learn how to reload some ammo. I was kinda ho hum about it at first but thought I'd try it. It turns out it was pretty fun. We used his RCBS Rock Chucker to load some 9mm and .45 ACP rounds. He showed me how the set up worked and how to use the loading books. The cases already had been prepped (with some exception to the 9mm brass) and the primers installed so that helped. The trickiest part was getting the equipment set up properly and the powder to measure correctly for the loads we were using. Once that was done, and seeing a few examples of how to load the powder and press the bullet into the case, I got to take my crack at it. It took me a little while to get somewhat of a rhythm down. I managed to make about 100 rounds of 9 mm and 100 rounds of .45. After we were done, he let me keep what I made! From other posts I read about learning reloading, now's a bad time to start with availability and pricing issues. Hopefully things will settle down over time and I will seriously look into investing into the equipment and supplies. I wish I had gotten into reloading sooner but better late than never I suppose.
  8. Bill Geissele has a video on YT that shows how to install their triggers also. I watched it when I installed my SSA trigger. They sometimes run deals on their triggers. I got mine for $189 a few years ago. I may look at a LaRue for my other AR as I've read good things about them and they are cheaper too I think.
  9. I have a RI Ultra Tac Ii and really like it. The first one I bought had some issues and sent it to them for repairs. They sent it back but it had the same issue. They ended up sending me a new gun. I did have the barrel throated and polished and it runs good. I recommend them.
  10. We as responsible and law abiding gun owners need to stay above this. We accomplish nothing by acting out. We will give the anti-gunners all the reason in the world to paint us as bloodthirsty gun nuts hell bent on terrorizing our fellow citizens and furthering their resolve to strip us of out 2A rights. We have everything to lose and nothing to gain.
  11. Looking at adding an XS Big Dot front sight or red dot optic to my Mossy 12 gauge. I want something for nighttime home defense use. I've been eyeballing the XS sight but you have to use something like JB Weld to attach it to the included bead sight. I'm afraid if I ever had to replace it then it might damage the barrel. The red dot seems like a safer option but more expensive. Which should I go with? Thanks
  12. I agree but wonder if after reviewing the case, the attorney just says, "Sorry, can't help you with this. Take the plea deal".
  13. This discussion made me think of one of the statutes TN has about self defense. Would flipping off a person be considered provokng the other person's use of force? Is being flipped off grounds for LEGALLY inflicting serious bodily harm or death against another person? I guess what I'm asking is by giving a gesture, expletive, etc, would that person be considered the aggressor? I would like to think not but IANAL. Below is what I found. e) The threat or use of force against another is not justified: (1) If the person using force consented to the exact force used or attempted by the other individual; (2) If the person using force provoked the other individual's use or attempted use of unlawful force, unless: (A) The person using force abandons the encounter or clearly communicates to the other the intent to do so; and (B) The other person nevertheless continues or attempts to use unlawful force against the person;
  14. I sure hope this gets shot down (no pun intended). Castle doctrine laws are a good thing. I guess the Democrats won't be happy until everyone is helpless... https://www.click2houston.com/news/politics/2020/12/10/bill-seeking-to-modify-texas-castle-doctrine-causes-stir-ahead-of-2021-legislative-session/ Note: I'm having issues getting the link to paste properly. 15. Safariland appears to have some for that model minus the optic ability https://safariland.com/products/model-6355-als-tactical-holster-with-quick-release-leg-harness-19910
  16. I used ACRW back around July to have the barrel on my RIA 1911 throated and polished. They seemed to do a good job on mine. They are located off Scruggs Road in Ft. Oglethorpe
  17. Update...suspect is dead https://www.wrcbtv.com/story/42780991/update-suspect-involved-in-the-shooting-of-an-east-ridge-police-officer-is-dead
  18. He is holed up around the Lake Winnie area. THP chopper has been circling around and I've been hearing gunshots from time to time. It's within a mile of my house. He ditched his car on the street my sister lives on right past the state line in GA.
  19. I put mine in the corner of a spare bedroom. The safe weighs around 725 lbs empty. I had Parker Safes get mine in the house. If you need to get the safe in your house I highly recommend them They had to block up the steps to the front porch before taking it inside. I don't have it bolted down but with the weight of everything in it, I doubt it will get very far. I also have a dog and alarm on the house to protect it.
  20. This happened not far from where I live. He ditched his car in the neighborhood my sister lives in and a manhunt is underway. Prayers for the officer involved and hope they recover quickly. https://newschannel9.com/news/local/east-ridge-police-officer-shot-at-traffic-stop-on-ringgold-road-sunday-afternoon
  21. That is freaking awesome. Awesome tribute to the Dead.
  22. RIP Eddie..
  23. The Motor City Madman!!!
  24. The one thing I wonder about constitutional carry is how it would affect the ability to carry out of state. If other states wouldn't recognize cc then going out of TN might mean leaving your gun at home or locked up in your vehicle without quick access wouldn't it?
  25. Another underated Outlaws tune..
