I have been keeping my HD shotgun loaded with a full tube and a round in the chamber with the safety on. After reading a few articles about why that is a bad idea, I decided to keep the tube full, hammer down with the safety on. Does anyone on here keep their HD shotguns with a round in the chamber? Since a shotgun doesn't have a drop safety, I guess the fear of an AD if the gun were dropped and having 00 buckshot tearing through something I don't want it to made me reconsider my strategy.

My HD weapon is my Mossberg 590 with TL Racker light. I used to keep my G23 with laser in my nightstand but swapped it out after I got my Mossy.

Just picked me up the Vantrue N2 Pro. I was looking forward to mounting it when I came across an article about dash cams and found out that the ones that mount to your windshield are illegal in some states like GA & AL. I have a GPS mount that I've used before that mounts to my windshield and never had issues. Does anyone on here who uses a dashcam mount them to the dash instead of the windshield? Below is the article I found. https://www.lifewire.com/aare-dash-cams-legal-534879 Edit: I finally found a mount that attaches to the rear view mirror. Hopefully this will work.

Maybe they hired a "head engineer"?

I was thinking the same thing when I first read about it...lol. I think the name of the ship is named Blue Origin. I have my own twist to that name...the Blue Organ...

Speaking of my previous post, check out this idiot who had a dash cam and got caught up in road rage. How he hasn't been charged I don't know but it was very stupid.
-
My reasoning is mostlly based on a situation that happened to a friend of a coworker. He apparently got involved in some road rage incident in which a gun was supposedly displayed. From my understanding he was in some serious trouble and eventually went to court to answer the charges. The case was postponed on several different occasions because the "victim" never showed up to testify and the case was eventually dismissed. He was out of tens of thousands of dollars in attorney's fees because of that accusation though. Dunno if he could sue the accuser to recoup attorney's fee or not though.. Since I drive armed 99.9% of the time,I just want to kind of protect myself from some vindictive road rage driver who may try to say I did something like that. I still haven't decided if I will get one or not but the thought of losing all that money over a false accusation is scary.

This brings a question to mind. If pulled over and I have a dash cam running, do I let the officer know upfront or wait and see if they ask me about it? I'm currently looking at this one to buy.. https://www.amazon.com/N2-Pro-Infrared-1920x1080P-2560x1440P/dp/B0742J69SQ/?_encoding=UTF8&pf_rd_p=3916d856-3bce-4f10-8f05-902be920fe19&pd_rd_wg=h4HzF&pf_rd_r=BEKBDRQ3W271MNC9TSYF&pd_rd_w=gXZi3&pd_rd_r=a442af46-1fde-4e02-b777-bda50f9b7405&ref_=ci_mcx_mr_hp_atf_m

I have one for my RIA 1911 and really like it. I also bought a matching magazine holster for it. They also have good customer service of you have any questions.

I am looking to get a set of offset flip up sights for my AR and saw any different ones on Amazon. I bought a pair called Souforce for another AR a few years ago and they are okay but was wondering if there may be better ones available. I would like get the ones with the dual apertures. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The problem I see with permitless carry or with permits that are issued without any classes is that people probably aren't aware of the laws of what they can or can't do. The classes at least touch on some of the laws on the use of deadly force. I doubt most of those who carry that haven't had to take a class are aware or even look at what is legal to do or not do. They then find out the hard way when they pull a gun and then say "I thought that wqs legal to do" and find out otherwise.

Thanks for the replies. I havent had a chance to handle either yet but the next time I'm in GT Distributors, I'll see if they have both for me to check out. I had originally been looking at getting the gen 5 23 in .40 caliber but I have a gen 3 23. Hickok 45 wasn't too fond of it in his review so I thought maybe a .45 might be the way to go.
-
I wonder if a gen 5 flavor for those models will come along? I've done some searching but haven't found anything.

I've been toying with the thought of getting another Glock in the distant future. I have been looking at the 30 but also the 21...especially the 21SF. I wish they made a mid-size .45 but the only one I saw in that size is the 38 which is chambered in .45 GAP which I'm not too interested in. Does anyone on here carry a 21 for CC? I know the 21 is a full size which will make it more difficult to conceal. I've read that some people don't like the 30 because it can pinch their pinky fingers between the grip and magazine. I'm still kinda on the fence about which one to get.

Front sight install for RIA 1911 issue
lock n' load replied to lock n' load's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Okay. Thanks for the tip. Should I use a fine grit sandpaper? -
I bought a set of Meprolight night sights for my RIA 1911. The rear sight went on without much issue. The front sight however was a different story. Even though these sights are for a Rock Island, I had to do quite a bit of filing on the bottom of the sight in order to get it to fit into the dovetail. After several back and forth of test fitting, filing, test fitting, etc. I was able to get it in enough to use my sight pusher. Got the sight on but got to noticing a small amount of daylight between the dovetail of the slide and sight on the bottom side. I dunno if somehow I was filing the sight crooked but was trying to keep it straight as I took material off the bottom. I am now kinda worried about any moisture getting in that area and causing rust. I didn't use any locktite to hold it in place. Should I remove the sight and put some locktite in the dovetail and reinstall and maybe that would help fill that gap? I guess I should've let a pro install it instead of trying to be a diy gunsmith.

Nashville Shootout Body Cam Footage
lock n' load replied to Omega's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Here's my take on all this.. 1. Don't associate with wanted felons. 2. Don't drive a vehicle if the person who owns it is a wanted felon. 3. Don't be "riding dirty". 4. Having a bad attitude and resisting arrest won't get you far. 5. Pulling and/or using a weapon on a LEO will most likely get you killed. To sum it up..I don't have any sympathy for her or anyone else who acts like that. -
I was browsing around Ollie's the other day and came across a book that got my attention. It is called "Cop Under Fire" by well-known Sheriff David Clarke Jr. I'm about close to being halfway through and it haa been a good read. I always liked his no-nonsense attitude and his unwavering support for law enforcement. He doesn't pull any punches and tells it like it is on a variety of subjects. I highly recommend it.
