Morgan County Correctional Complex, Stopped from taking pictures, deleted.
Wyldk2 replied to soapy's topic in General Chat
Well, when I was younger( Back before the technology spurt of smartphones) I may have had my share of dealings with the local cops. Nothing bad though there was one cop that seemed to have it in for teenage drivers. You have the right to video police ( good or bad) and if they have a problem with it, tell them since they are paid for by the taxes you are forced to pay, they will be videoed when they are on duty. They have video recorders in their vehicles so why should they have a problem with you recording them? Good though, more people like you( Keal G Seo) are needed to help keep those that are supposed to "serve and protect" from becoming those that "punish and enslave". -
S&W M&P 15 Sport suggested riser height?
Wyldk2 replied to Andyshowfan's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I put about a 1/2 inch riser on mine. Not for the red dot but for the adjustable scope. Helps not having to see the A2 front sight. I have a M&P sport AR-15 and had mine a year. As for the riser height, it depends on the type of red-dot or scope you want to put on it. -

Eh, I'd probably keep on driving down the road( you would think they would have better things to do than chase someone just taking pictures, minding his own business). Like Lagerhead said, they better get some actual cops out there to talk to me, I ain't no prisoner and definately don't deserve to be treated as such. Until I have actually broken a real law, I'll stay out of jail and their jurisdiction. I knew about Qik, just haven't had a need to use it. Guess everyone is going to need it if we have crap like this to deal with. -

Sounds like some more people need to test the goon squad out. If you're on a public road and taking pictures, seems to me they should have not made you delete the photos nor treated you like a common criminal or a suspect in a potential crime. They are not police, they are the guards for the criminals the cops bring to justice. Just because they "ask" you to do something, dosen't mean you have to comply. ( this goes for all in Law enforcement), unless they give you an actual order, you do not have to comply. It's still a mostly free country, and last i heard this isn't East Germany during the Iron curtain days. I'm occasionally up that way, next time I'm up there I'll fill you all in on my results( going to use multiple cameras and my GoPro). -
Pistol- 9mm & .40 cal Rifle - .22 & 5.56 Shotgun - 12 Ga ( I know a .22 isn't a defensive round, but if i ever was to run out of my other defensive ammo, anything is better than nothing). It may not kill( though if you look at the stats, more people are killed by .22 than any other caliber), but It'll hurt like a B****.

By the time you've bought 5 of those you coulda had a new Stihl gas chainsaw and it would keep on lasting you years to come. Maintenence is the key. As long as you keep your stuff maintained it will last you a long time. And cheaperin the long run than having to repair or replace an item. My Ryobi trimmer I have had for the past 7 years has never let me down( easier to start than my dad's stihl weedeater). I have a Cub cadet mower 1720 ( from the 80's or 90's) and it has not let me down yet. If you're going to use something maybe once or twice a year, get the homeowner unit, if you plan on using something all the time or frequently, get the Heavy commercial grade unit. It's all about preference, how much you are willing to spend once or how little you spend now and end up spending more later. I used to work at Lowe's,I remember the contractor coming in returning the home owner grade tool because they tore it up. More than likely abuse. The homeowner grade tools usually have a longer warranty( that is what some contractors only care about), the mfg knows the avg homeowner isnt going to abuse or overuse the tools. I saw more Black and decker tools come in for return or repair than I saw of the dewalts. and B&D owns Dewalt.

New Jersey is disgusting...if you didn't already know.
Wyldk2 replied to ShamGlock's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I have friends up there, they tell me it is getting worse up there. Don't think it can't happen here anytime soon but who knows. One of the many reasons i refuse to patronize a state or any state that refuses to recognize my handgun permit and the rights of its own gun owning citizens. -
If I rode a motorcycle I would want to open carry, simply for the comfort level. If you have a permit and are following the law, I see you should have nothing to worry about. So there are sheeple everywhere, let them worry about themselves and leave us law abiding folk alone. When I ride my atv, I open carry mainly for the snakes, though since I have been open carrying out on the trails the drunk riders have'nt bothered me any.

Pork-Infused Ammunition, Not Seen Since Black Jack Pershing
Wyldk2 replied to StPatrick's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Maybe they need Bacon enfused Z-max rounds, You know for the Muslim Zombies...... All I know is If they try to enforce that Sharia law, those Bacon rounds will start flying off the shelves. -
This^ One reason why i keep a change of clothes in my car, In case drinking gets out of hand, I'll spend the night. No level of intoxicity is worth taking a chance at a DUI or worse, taking a life. New laws won't solve the problem, just will increase the ammount of revenue for the state( federal and state). Texting laws don't work, even though it is a dangerous action( any action which distracts the driver is dangerous itself). The only way to get to Driving While Texting (DWT) drivers is education on the matter. If all phone makers would make something in their phones which would stop texting(while driving over 10 mph) maybe the problem itself would be reduced. You can never eliminate a problem. These laws are the lawmakers excuses to solving a problem, By generating revenue in which may get some, but not all. Reducing .08 to a ,05 may not sound like much. But it will catch someone who isn't aware they may be over some limit. It is stupid IMO to lower the limit.

JWC and I are cousins. In case you didn't know. But $ saved by makeing your lunches is still $ saved. I think most people tend to want to save $ especially the way the economy is right now.
-
Probably because she takes care of the kids, she figures you're old enough and capable enought to fix your own lunch. You know lunchmeats and cheese on bread isn't hard to do. Plus i read it can save you close to $525 a year versus eating out all the time. Just imagine, that money saved you could buy a new gun or ammo to shoot with. lol

A whole new level of civil disobedience....
Wyldk2 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Baby steps. Not full on armed protest. Most people who would show up would be un-armed simply because they don't want to go to jail. Just like paying taxes, most people do it because they are afraid of being put into a cage.( Taxes are supposed to be voluntary, but people are told it is mandatory). If you watch any of Adam Kokesh's videos, they arrest people for simply "dancing" at the Jefferson Memorial. What makes anyone think they won't do something worse to anyone openly carrying a rifle or pistol, loaded or not? I would like to see it one day allowed constitutional carry everywhere in the U.S. but until that day happens, we have to play by the rules and chip away at these stupid gun laws, piece by piece. Going in armed, is going to set a bad example, and make us look like a bunchof crazies. I fear it may further galvanize the anti-gun movement. -
IMO, (and various others) using a firearm should be a last resort. And I would advise against making yourself a target. For both the BG and regular "sheeple". But you want to open carry, it is your right to do either. I have thought about open carrying before. In the summer, with thinner and less easy to conceal clothing( aside from a holster shirt), I can see open carry as an option. Might since it is getting warmer, wear an untucked shirt over my holster.
-
Concealed mainly. But at home or out trail riding I usually open carry.

Why not bury him at sea( after all we did that to BinLaden). As for the hotness of the bombers, They'll be hot where they will be going. Burning in hell. And the virgins they were promised will be male. Hey, they never said the sex of the virgins.

Very nice house. Kinda reminds me of my dads. I second the John Deere( not the home depot or lowes ones) get you a 300-320x. And though dad has a Stihl weedeater as well, I prefer my Ryobi quick start. Had it over 7 years and never fails. Motion detectors, A dog, and fence would add to the security.

A few years back when my brother and I were younger. I remember borrowing my grandmother's 97 crown vic( white) and cruising around Gallatin. And we had the mirrored sunglasses. Every teenager driving around was scared straight. LMAO. I guess they thought we were cops in an undercover car. Right till you see the civilian tag.

I'm lucky I bought some green-tip ammo ( winchester penetrator) this summer. Figured I'd buy before these idiots in congress made it illegal to buy over the internet in large Quantities. Traded with some relatives and friends though. Noticed not much a difference in the shooting of either .223 ball or the 5.56 ammo. They both shoot great. Never a jam or issue in my S&W m&p sport.
-
Heck, I like either. Still i'd probably be torn between having the stang or the raptor. How is the fuel mileage? better or worse?
-
It depends, If your life is in danger yes, by all means if you have a clear shot shoot the perp( but like others said) drop mag, clear round and lay flat on the ground and make no threatening moves. Say if a cop is pinned down by a crazed shooter, I'd do everything in my power to save his/her life. If I had a clear shot. May have to be treated as a suspect( drop gun, mag and clear round and be unthreatening). But I'd do it.

I never loan my guns out, neither my fourwheeler nor my truck. But a garden tool, or something easily replaced, No problem. Bring it back when you're done. Thing i was taught by my dad was if you borrow something, bring it back in the same shape as you first borrowed it. Clean it up ( even if it was dirty to begin with) and return it to the same spot as you took it from.
-
I wish the cops around here would do that. And another thing, when driving on the road, ever notice when there is a cop car driving along, everyone is scared to pass him even if he's going 5 under? Hilarious.
-
I guess in some areas Police are viewed as nothing more than revenue generators. Around here i never had a problem with a cop pulling someone over violating a traffic law. I have had 2 tickets in my life( for speeding). I don't speed anymore( just go with the flow of traffic). I live out in the country and it is nice to see the sheriff deputies "harassing" cruising the neighborhood from time to time. Least make their presence known. Soon I'll be moving back to Tullahoma and having a city cop down the road isn't going to make me feel one bit "harassed".
-
Some people act like that in stores. People acted like that in school too. Going down the hall way to class, it was rampant. nobody wanted to give in, to budge or move out of your way if you were a little fella. Follow a big kid and he'll plow the row for ya. I agree though, people tend to do it more in cars and on the internet. Bullies are everywhere, just know you can't resort to their level, even though it would be nice to tell them 2 can play that game.
