  1. I guess the hummer has been beat the snot out of? :pleased:
  2. I don't think i would want to take anything that nice off-road. My durango has been off-road a few times but that back when I first got mine. ( expensive to repair if you make a off-roaders mistake). Since mine's a daily driver until i can get something better, it stays on the pavement or gravel. My off-road toy is my 2008 outlander 650 max. ( trust me, your trucks won't make it where I go). We definately need to get the TGO ride up and planned soon.
  3. Oh, i though taxes in Lincoln county were bad. Til i saw the property tax in Tullahoma. Yeesh.  But compared to friends up north and midwest( omaha), we have it pretty good. Tax is theft anyways, taxing you on something you already own is plain thievery. If enough people stop paying, then what can they do?   But pays for schools, police, fire, garbage, etc...  If our kids keep getting low scores compared to the rest of the world, you think we deserve a rebate.
  4. I wish i knew about that earlier. Would have loved to go meet the cast. As I grew up with that show( like most on here).   Speaking of which, if you like cars and John Schnieder, Both will be at the Southern Wheels and Motion car show to be held at Tullahoma's South Jackson Civic center parking lot June 15th, 2013.   John will be signing autographs from 12-2.
  5. Well, i priced both a raptor and the fx4 with what options i would want and do you know the fx4 was more than the raptor. Even with the ecoboost v6. If only the raptor came with a 6.5 ft bed.   Willis, the ruby red looks awesome. Even though I'm partial to the blue, I like the red, it stands out since i mainly see black, silver or blue raptors lately.   I just need to win the lotto. lol   Seriously, willis when you get it, post some pics.
  6. I would like to see a car restoration show ( more local). Would love to get my dad's 33 Plymouth coupe restored. It has been garaged for over 40 years. I have never seen it run, only seen a dusty old car in my grandparent's garage.   Just recently talking to dad, he told me he had no speedometer, no fuel gauge to go by and no inclination to how much mpg it got. But back then gas cost 25 cents a gallon, so Idoubt they were worried about the mpg we are today.
  7. Ok, i keep putting my foot in my mouth.   11-16 isn't bad i agree. Considering the ammount of weight 6.2 liters is pushing. I like the look of the raptor myself, but leaning toward the fx4 in ecoboost. Eventually.. As far as timetable, I got to get my house sold, moved and a new job ( and save up for a little while). Right now for a 1998( 220,000 mi) i'm lucky to get 18 city/20 hwy from a 5.2liter v-8.  I put 198,000 miles on it and still running strong( hope it can hold up til i get enough saved for a new truck).   If new car prices keep climbing, It may take longer.
  8. Be careful in Savannah. A friend of mine was mugged there close to the beach and they knocked him out, stole his money and ran. He wasn't armed either. Best to be aware of your surroundings and never travel alone if you can.
  9. ( David) if asking someone what they do is rude, i guess there are a lot of rude people on this forum.   I know not to ask what anyone makes( none of my business or anyone else's).   Seriously though, I have been looking into a new truck soon and I do agree with Mike .357. I love the raptor but it's gas mileage sucks. But no offense to anyone who has one. My durango isn't a fuel sipper either.   Willis, If i offended you in any way, I apologize. No offense meant.   Both your rides are sweet. I would love to have either, or be given the chance to at least ride in either one day.
  10. Never meant to be rude, just asking what someone does?    I worked for 7 years in a pretty good job(so i thought) and most of my money went to my house. It won't go 0-60 in 5 seconds though.
  11. Mounting mine was easy( though it is best having a helper) First measure between handlebar and rear of seat, Attach the mounts to a 1/2 -3/4 thick board and mount the board to the ceiling. You need to screw the board to the joists for strength. Use 2 1/2 -3" screws for best hold.
  12. I wonder what you do to afford such gass guzzling vehicles?
  13. I disagree. Shot placement of whatever you carry is what matters. You can carry a .45 or a 10mm  and still not hit your target. I carry a 9mm and on occasion a .40. Thing is, any caliber you carry has the potiental for killing. If it were a .22( and statistics show it is the #1 round that kills the most people involved in shootings here in the states).   Having the training and the ability to shoot makes anyone, regardless of their choice in caliber, a deadly adversary to a potiental BG.
  14. I have one of those. It works great in the house. Also good for storing Kayaks or ladders.
  15. Planning on it. I can do that this week. I have my old license before i moved to Fayetteville( expired though).
  16. Anything that sucks the blood out of you( including all politicians) is on my sh** list.   As for the deet, They make a non-deet product that works ok.
  17. city taxes, arent that bad. could be worse. But when I was out in lincoln county, taxes were low. But i think tax in general( tax on what you already own) is theft plain and simple. What can I do about it? nothing, except maybe move ( which i don't want to ever do). Only good thing about my new neighborhood is it's close but not that close to town, and there is a TP officer down the street. I think i'm going to be safer here in Tullahoma, since my bike riding is safer here than out in the county. No tractors to run me over or as many stray dogs to try and bite me.   Thing is, I can step out of the city anytime I want( right on the city limits).
  18. I don't have a 45. But IMO, shot placement is where it's at. You can kill with a .22, it may come in one area and go out a different area od the body, But it sure hurts like hell. Just don't tell the robber/BG what you're carrying, just point and shoot, Plain and simple.
  19. I haven't had a case of Chiggers or ticks in a long time. Mainly bcause I spray on anything with Deet in it and wear light colored clothing when out in the brush. ( please note, i rarely ever am out in the brush on foot, I prefer the atv).   But i hate them creepy srawly things that suck the blood out of ya and make ya itch. Mosquitoes are also on that list.
  20. Yeah, I have a few friends from the area( tullahoma/manchester/winchester) who are on the board. Thing is, never have enough friends who like to shoot. I'm dying to get my ar back out and shoot. Living in Lincoln county, even though i am in kinda a suburb makes it hard to have anyplace to shoot. My house in Tullahoma is in the city limits so i can't shoot there( aside from the pellet gun).
  21. I never have been in a pawn shop before i was looking for my first pistol. Back then I tried KK's in Tullahoma and they had overpriced "junk". Went back a few weeks ago with a friend to help her look and still Overpriced "junk" plus the fact that the guy behind the counter never acknowledged myself or my friend( potiential customers).  I won't set foot in that pawn shop ever, and advise everyone else to stay out of it as well. As for the ammo gouging issue, If you don't buy it, and tell everyone else not to buy it as well, eventually the gougers will have to make some kind of money or lose their investment. I think if we named those shops and individuals ( like a gunbot site) who are gouging the ammo, maybe it would hurt them and the ammo issue could get closer to being like it was before all the hoopla.
  22. While it has been a while since i did hardwood floor, I do remember the jist of it. I did both hardwood floor and ceramic tile in the old house before the fire. Just about done with my current project of replacing an exterior door, the floor and the trim around the door.   Please note I am not a professional installer. Just have done it a few times. I remember the hammer/floor setter. Now we use finish nailers.
  23. I lookedinto them for the shield when i got mine. But the folks at Herogear told me they were a PITA to get installed. So for now i have stock sights.
  24. Beings I live( for time being) about 4 miles north of the state line. Alabama is ok, just they have passed a new law further protecting our gun rights( for carry permit holders only). I have never had a problem while carrying in Bama. But I don't go to the bars and rarely stayed longer than a day down there.   Florida, I have never carried down there, may have to eventually whenever i do plan on going back.
  25. If your'e in the right place at the right time, buy. If not, wait a while. Before all this I was luckily enough to buy 3 bricks for $17 a piece. I have 2 of those still, and last 2 bricks i bought were right at $24 each(with tax). so i haven't shot much, but i won't be caught unprepared. I was able to find a brick at Dunhams about a month ago. And 3 of them lasted all day saturday. Haven't shot much if any either. Mainly been shooting my air rifle ( cause ammo is cheap and easily available), but not near as fun.
