Well, I got laid off yesterday. Looking for a new job
Wyldk2 replied to Wyldk2's topic in General Chat
Well, I got good news today. I had 3 interviews at Walmart in Manchester. And after the drug test( which i should pass) i am supposed to be called for orientation. So hopefully everything will work out. I'm not saying wal-mart is my dream job or the best offer but in my experience, Once you get hired one place it seems the rest of the places start calling you for employment. Still a job is a job. and money is money. Yeah that's right, Imight get to find out where they store and hide all that ammo someone has been hoarding at Wal-mart. -
I'm not against tats or Piercings either. But I have none of either. I want to be different, but sometimes i just feel left out. Most of my friends have some sort of tat. The only thing i see bad on a tat or piercing is with age, things change. I do see the tattoo removal services business becoming a booming industry one day. Best thing i have found out if you decide to get a Tat, don't get any names tatted on you unless it's your children, your mom or dad, a vehicle you love or a pet you always want to remember.

Well, I have never encountered one of these "checkpoints" personally, But i think it's nothing more than a scare tactic by the DHS cronies. It all ammounts to "let me see your papers" checkpoints like they had in East Germany during the Cold War. Personally, I think these who defy the DHS checkpoints are helping get the word out that these "Checkpoints" are nothing but a control tactic. Not bowing down to those if you have nothing to hide is a step toward liberty. For those who think "terrorism" is a big threat, I ask you to look at the biggest terrorism organization on the planet. No not Al-Queida, But our own Federal government. First it is all about security and how you should give up your liberty for security. Next thing you know they will be telling us what we can and cannot do, where we can and cannot go and what we can and cannot eat or drink. In other words it's just another "Agenda" by those in charge.

Realtor coming today, my house is on the market soon.

Only things of mine in there is my ATV and my kayak. I'm afraid he has more stuff in there than me. -
Hello, welcome to the forum and eventually to the State of Tennessee. As for carrying, In the national park it is ok to carry just keep in mind the buildings on site are federal buildings and do not allow carry. No guns signs have to clearly state no firearms on premises and have a gunbuster( so I have learned). I would leave your gun in your vehicle if you come across a sign, just in case. There is No "stand your ground" clause in TN. TN has open of concealed carry, i would recommend conceal carry just in case. Even though we have both, a lot less incidents can be avoided if you conceal. I'msure someone with more info will chime in soon. But hope this at least helps.

Yeah, get in a hurry and typos are a plenty. But you caught it before i could edit it. So used to the Android auto-correct, I wish it was on my computer as well. -
I would get a record of the sale of the firearm to your friend. Just in case. These days, who knows what might happen down the road. As for me, I could sell my guns ( i have a few) But like someone said before, they will be heirlooms to my kids and further down eventually. Had a friend sell all his guns and now he's regretting that decision.

First open carry at Walmart - New yearly tradition!
Wyldk2 replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
That is one thing i have yet to have the nerve to do. Open carry even though it is legal in TN with a permit. Only reason why i haven't is there are way too many sheeple who think any person not wearing a badge and carrying a gun is the bad guy. -
You right to believe what you want. And your right to decide who you do business with regarding their support of whatever. I'll keep my youtube account, basically because i do not care what Google or Youtube or Apple, etc... does. Their companies, their choices. As a little guy, do you think they will care if you close your account with them? When they have millions of other subscribers/account holders. All I know is as long as it dosen't affect me personally, and dosen't involve me, I don't care what gays or Lesbians or whatever decide to do with their lives. Just don't involve me.

I sure hope not. It's a good house, Only thing it lacks is a garage. But considering most of the houses out in the neighborhood don't have garages, and they don't have a nice big Shed out back either. The shed is wired up for power, lights etc... And that is what dad and I are doing today and tomorrow, wiring up his new shed. -
Not a dirt biker myself, but a atv rider. Have you ever been to NATRA? ( northern Alabama Trail Riders association). They have land out near Lawrenceberg and plenty of dirt-bike trails. Some atv trails but t's a long drive for me now. I usually ride locally( if i can find a place still open). Been to Wooly's but it is more suited for the rock crawlers. Mostly we ride the Cove ( Bryant's cove) or Viola. Prentice cooper state forest is a good place if you ever feel the need for speed and the occasional jump.

I was meaning the academy? I have heard there are several across the state. Conditions and requirements vary so I have heard( from LE officers who i know personally). I am just getting Ideas, Haven't done a ride along with a patrol officer so I wouldn't know everything they have to go thru. I hear Tullahoma PD has gone thru several officers in the past few years due to disagreements with the Chief. Might have to schedule a ride along to see what i may or may not be getting myself into. I have a friend who was a Chicago PD officer, He got out after being shot. Told me it wasn't worth it the ammount of money he was getting paid to be shot when he could make the same money or more at a non- LE job. But that is his take on it.
-
Actually thought about getting into LE. How hard is it? Is there an age limit for entry into being a LEO? What can help someone if they decide to go thru with it? Thanks

Mine is a starter house, It was plenty big for me or a couple. 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 0.84 acres yard. 16x10 Mini barn ( country Barn Construction, Built by the Mennonites). I did make it energy efficient( more than my neighbors). If i had Photos on my computer I would upload them, But I'm in Tullahoma for a week. Main thing the realtor told me it has is Privacy. ( mom and I planted 38 Leland cypruss trees around the perimeter of the yard( along the main roads), 7 years ago they were 2 feet tall, Now they are upwards of 12 feet tall. -
Side note, The ammo I have Is spoken for. ( someone local on here is meeting me tomorrow for it). Yes, there are a many good people around us. I just wish it was more widely known instead of all the bad things that happen out there.

Well, I have a small Nano type box in my truck. It will keep your gun out of a smash and grab thief, but if given enough time, I'm sure the lock on it can be defeated. Cabled it to the front seat. I had mine for when I was employed ( and when I am employed again). I doubt it would be legal if i got a federal Job though.

Armed robbery in a Cool Springs office parking lot today 7/1
Wyldk2 replied to Volzfan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If i had the choice with being "fired" for defending myself, or being dead from a gunshot......... Think I would choose being fired. Betterthat than being fired upon. Cool springs is slowly becoming the "Hickory Hollow Mall" dream for thugs. I carry everywhere I go now, even for quick runs into town. Never know when something like this will happen. -

Thanks, I don't expect it to sell real quick. But hopefully within a few months. I got most of my stuff out, just small odds and ends. I really don't know how much it will go for, but it better go for more than I owe on it. Now I got to find a job soon as possible. -
I've been looking for work all the while working on cleaning, straigtening, and moving stuff from my current house to my dad's place ( mine too) in Tullahoma. So today the realtor is coming by, I have been working today doing the last minute things before she gets here. Hopefully it will sell soon. It will be on Access realty's website in Fayetteville. A virtual tour, so you don't have to leave your house to see mine. Hopefully it sells soon and for what i need for it to sell for.
-
I don't know who did it either, but i hope they know i greatly appreciate it. Maybe it will inspire more of us to do more for our gun loving bretheren ( and the rest of the population as well). I try to help people out when I can, Eventually Karma comes around.

Thanks, I'll have to pay it forward someday( soon as i get employed). Hopefully soon, cause I hate asking for help, and hate having to sell and move but gotta do what i gotta do. Side note, I won't let the benefactor status someone has graciously given me go to waste. I have other things i need to sell as well( most are non-firearm related) simply because I am downsizing and need the cash more than anything. I have a few Bike roof racks and some other stuff i am willing to part with. This site definately has better people than found on CL or another trading site.

I go into wal-mart here in Fayetteville on occasion. Just to see what type of ammo and how much they have. Nothing i need really, But a lot more than the Tullahoma store has. Haven't bought ammo in a month, and last time i Bought ammo it was the rarely seen .22 lr bulk pack at Dunhams. I'm ok on ammo, since i stopped shooting as much.
-
Yep, Figured so. I'll try to get a benefactor status someday. Right now funds are tight especially with me still lookingfor a job.
