  1. Actually the Manchester store has a 2 box limit per customer. But the customers bring their wives, their kids, their of age family members or friends who don't shoot and buy up all the ammo. All I heard last night was Phone calls for sporting goods, and one of the sporting goods employees told me a guy called about 6 times one day looking for .22 ammo.   We cannot control what comes in, when it comes in or what time it is stocked. Some employees like to stock it as soon as it is unloaded, some wait till the next day. There is no 7 am wait for ammo at Manchester.  Walmart supercenters are 24/7, but i guess the ammo sales availability varies per store.   I know Fayetteville walmart wouldn't sell handgun ammo after 10 pm. That was even before SH. Now you're lucky if you can even find it.   We aren't hoarding it in the backroom either, if it was there, I would know about it.
  2. Either I'm the Designated driver or the Designated CCW. I don't usually drink, but when I do i know my limit and drink only at home or out on the river(kayaking). Now carrying a gun on the river is a no-brainer, as we never know what might happen. But i can safely handle a little alcohol and my gun and not act like a total ass. Out in public, i don't like to drink. But if i do, The gun stays in the car. Drink mostly at home, when I can afford to. I have been drunk before, well before i got into guns. I don't ever want to go that road again. So I stop after maybe 3 beers, maybe 2 mixed drinks just to play safe.
  3. I cut cable as soon as cable internet was available where I was living in Lincoln county, TN. I got a PS3 and then streamed Netflix and watched the free Hulu channel. Dropped the netflix dvd delivery subscription soon as was laid off ( had to keep entertained somehow).
  4. Shipments of 9mm come in at least once a week in my store. Usually sold out by the next day though. Had some ever elusive .22 semi-auto ammo come in and was gone as soon as we got it.
  5. .380, 9mm came in tonight. Store 0308(Manchester).
  6. Sorry fellas, No ammo on tonights truck.
  7. I'd love to have a motorcycle one day. Right now i'm afraid ifi were to getone my mother would come back and haunt me( she never liked Motorcycles of any kind). It took all i could to get an atv. ( promising I wear my helmet everytime i ride) And yes, I usually am the only one riding with a helmet, even during this hot summer weather. I have rode a Gas gas off-road bike but would love to learn on the road someday. I need to be able to get my license to ride a motorcycle if I ever decide to get a Spyder. Yep, I'm a can-am geek.
  8. Make sure you bringsome overly ripe tomatoes and Produce. If I am off i may consider going to help the protesters have another voice.
  9. Why is the 29"?  Most mountianbikes are 26", the 29" is more oftena higher priced model. Unless they have changed and brought out some cheap wal-mart models. Which, I have yet to see a 29" ANIMAL.
  10. Well, i'm going to put my 2 cents in on this one. Since i am an avid mountainbiker and i started out on a Huffy(most of us did). I have a K2 animal ( Hencemy log on name) which might be a bit much for the recreational rider.   The best thing to do would be for you to go to a bicycle shop ( not a sporting goods store) but a bike shop. That way they can measure you and make sure you get a frame that fits you and one that fits your wife. Cookie cutter bikes are fine for the kiddos, But when you get to riding something a lot you need something that is more comfortable and just rides better. Plus, I would tryto help out the small business as much as possible.   You can get a good quality bike for $300-$800. Depending on the components mainly. The frames these days are mostly aluminum or steel. The carbon fiber and Titanium i would stay away from unless you decide to get into racing or have the $$$$ to spend on those.   Shop around, you canfind some good deals on craigslist. But IMHO a new bike will have no issues the used ones( even if they look mechanically sound) might have lying underneath. Also see the "fit" issue.   But as with everything, you get what you pay for.
  11. I wouldn't advise it but frozen or near frozen paintballs instead of Pepper balls. They evenmake paintballs that smell like rotten eggs.   could always use re-balls ( foam balls) and freeze them.
  12. 9mm, .40 and .45 bulk packs came in tonight at store 0308.
  13. I've only had 2 dealings with the THP. One was my involvment in a traffic accident( which he was there only to take statements) and the recent stopping by one in Manchester. Both times they were nice and cordial. Now some city and county cops seem like they want to harass you. The rudest cops i have dealt with were in Estil Springs( which is a speed trap) and Tullahoma( though the officer in question has since been transferred). It was back when I was a teenager, my dealings with the TPD.
  14. I think once he found out i was a HCP holder and i was just coming off work that I wasn't worth a search. I do however wish i had a videocamera mounted at that time just to show the internet not all cops are bad as some make 'em out to be.
  15. I have family in and around Gallatin. I almost moved up there. Good area, not overgrown like Franklin....Yet.
  16. McCain is just another Rhino jumping on the liberal train. I wish more politicians had the balls to stand up to the liberals who seem to want to blame the gun for the crime.
  17. Set of adjustable clippers $20   Hand mirror $3   Knowing you can do it yourself anytime, while saving a ton of money =  Priceless       I used to always get my haircuts from my mom, beings she was a licensed cosmetologist. When she passed, it was a new experience for me looking for a reputable hair-cutter. I for a while would give my business to a friend who i used to work with and she is licensed and needed the money, but driving out her way was almost as much as the haircut.   I'll eventually get around to letting one of those professionals cut my hair again.
  18. Nothing wrong witha plow or a brushguard on the front of a vehicle. I'm thinking, i would try to find another way around though. If there is no other way around, I would make my way around. 4x4 does come in handy, and if they(protestors) try anything, the pistol is in lap, doors locked and windows rolled up. Just for safety measure, the AR would be within arms reach just in case.   In a perfect scenario, this above would be my choice.
  19. I saw one of the ever reclusive bulk packs come in day before yesterday at Manchester's wal-mart. The 555 round .22 boxes came in. Think we only got 8 boxes of them. Plenty of Shotgun ammo though.
  20. He was wearing his hat. Only i see him take it off before he got back into his vehicle.   It was around 1 am and Yes, i didn't feel like changing a headlight bulb, Fog light was out, but i rarely use those. Thing is, i had never been stopped by anyone for having my aftermarket headlights( had these a year). Projector bulb/halo rings. It was the foglight that was out. There is a loose wire somewhere, cause i jiggled it and it came on fine.
  21. Well, I had just gotten off work this morning and was headed home. Just crossed the interstate (exit 114) and i see a THP officer coming toward me, Thinking nothing of it, and i wasn't speeding or nothing, i still keep on, then see him turn a U-turn and turn his blues on right behoind me. I knew i had done nothing wrong, Pulled over, turned car off and rolled down the window all the way, had my DL and Permit ready. Handed those to him, being friendly and respectful( he was being respectful toward myself, I just did the same). Asked me where my weapon was, I told him and he told me i was doing everything like i was supposed to. Turns out he had pulled me over because i supposedly had a headlight out( just my fog light). Aftermarket headlights i had replaced a year earlier and no problems.   Other than that, I was a bit nervous. Haven't been pulled over for anything since i had the permit. But he let me off with a warning, thought my headlights were cool though.
  22. Seriously thinking Whitewolf needs to publish his work. Get on the Zombie bandwagon while you can. Definately will get a lot of us in the guns community hooked.
  23. Believe me, Iknow about wal-mart being one of the only places to get reasonably priced ammo in an area. Fayetteville has some pawn shops, but the ammo there is a hit or miss. Though compared to other wal-marts in the area, Fayetteville's wal-mart did have the best selection of ammo the last time i was there. Tullahoma and Manchester stores only seemed to have shotgun ammo and mybe one box of .40 cal.   Manchester's truck last night only had shotgun ammo. At least that is all i saw.
  24. So many stores, so little time to catchup. I'm thinking the manufacturers have been working at full capacity, their facilities can only handle so much. And then there are the people who think wal-mart is the only place to get ammo in town. They still haven't gotten the message.
  25. I know they don't pay enough. Most retail do not pay the help what they should. ( but if they paid more, you would see the money have to come from somewhere). Maybe you mis-read me, I never said i agree with what the employee is doing. I know when I worked for Slows ( lowe's) we couldn't accept tips. Yet i saw it all the time, people would offer tips( mostly these ladies who appreciated the help loading or delivering), I was offered money, but never accepted. Out of sheer principle. True, the wal-mart employee in question needs to be fired, for what he is doing is unethical. It is against the employee rulebook. Sometimes, wal-mart is a stepping stone to other employment, and maybe the people that work wal-mart have another job. Some people I know, have made Wal-mart their carreer. Would I? heck no. But sometimes wal-mart is the onlything available in a certian area.   TMF, have you ever worked retail, do you even know what you are talking about?
