  1. I know of Vijay Kumar... he's running on a platform of stopping universal jihad. Very good guy with a detailed knowledge of the problems that have historically accompanied political Islam. Very pro 2nd amendment as well.

    FNP-9

My wife has one and is quite fond of it.
  3. They used to, but don't seem to anymore. The rules shift fairly often... the attendants are usually pretty professional and will walk you over to the TSA station. Hang around until the TSA guys give you the all clear and then you should be good to go.
  4. I fly SW with my firearm all the time. Never had a problem with them... I occasionally run into a noob who doesn't know the rules, but once a manager comes over... no problem. Just make sure the gun is unloaded and in a locked case and your ammo is stored separately in the original box or a hard case specifically designed to hold bullets. You'll be fine. Their friendliness with firearms is one of the reasons that SW remains my favorite airline.
  5. Will they let us shoot 50s? The TWRA range at Stones River won't allow anything bigger than a .338.
  6. mmmmm, Ziva.
  7. Chris

    Sorry!!

    I like it!
  8. I took a 275lb sow yesterday with my 375 H&H. Curiously, safari rounds do baaaaad things to wild pigs.
  9. I'll drive that far to be able to shoot 500+. I'll even bring the ammo and the beer for after.
  10. The range out in Manchester is the only one I'm aware of and it only goes to 300. I have the same problem with my 99.
  11. I don't know those guys but I've had good hunts at both of these lodges. I'm kind of partial to Loshbough, but they are both excellent hunts. Tennessee Hunting, Wild Boar, Elk and Exotic Hunting Loshbough Hunting Range
  12. I've got a Bushnell 1-4x on mine that works great. It's inexpensive and perfect for hunting in heavy cover. Amazon.com: Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 1-4x32 Riflescope: Sports & Outdoors
  13. I Love my 1895! Great gun. The recoil is significant but entirely manageable.
  14. I'm in for hog hunting anywhere and anytime. I hunted at Loshbough Hunting Reserve in Crossville not long ago, really an awesome property with great guides.
  15. I saw one at SHOT show. It looked pretty awesome. Next time I need one, I'll seriously consider one... now that I think of it, my safe flooded (contents had already been removed), might be time to replace it.
  16. Nice fan on that one. Good looking bird.
  17. It's all about shot placement... low and forward, like whiskey says. I put a 45/70 through both lungs of a 300 lb hog and he stayed on his feet ready to fight until I put the second round through his pump house. They are tough animals.
  18. Sounds like a blast!
  19. With good shot placement you should be fine.
  20. Nice bird.
  21. Chris

    1000 yd range

Assuming I can shoot my .50, I'm so in!
  22. I like the lead sled, very helpful tool. Makes sighting in my 45/70 a much less painful experience.
  23. Nice one Clutepc! I had a weird morning in the field. Same spot I hunted Saturday, but today there was nothing... no gobbles, no birds to be seen... very weird... this spot is always hot and have it so dead was very strange. The yotes have been very active, so maybe they drove the birds to another hill. Once turkey season is over, I'm taking those suckers out!
  24. I'm a big fan of "Cat Crap". I've used it on my goggles in Iraq as well as shooting glasses, scuba masks, welding masks, paintball masks (if it can keep one of these from fogging, you know it's good) and damn near anything else that covers my eyes. You simply can't beat this product... it handles extreme conditions well and a $9 container will last for years.
  25. I LOVE that town! I highly recommend the Venetian or the Wynn... you should be able to get decent prices and they are great casinos. Make sure to take the wife to a show or two... you can find pretty much anything you might like and the productions are fantastic. Try a magic show like Penn and Teller... very different from your traditional broadway show. I don't gamble a lot but I love to wander around and check out the sights and sounds. You can spend days just wandering the casinos and checking out the awesome scenery. There is a range in Vegas where you can shoot full auto weapons... great fun. And if you are a food aficionado, this is THE town. Emeril, Battali, Flay... take your pick... the food is amazing. Don't bother renting a car, there is a monorail that runs up and down the strip and most of the hotels have shuttles. Great golf and the scenery is very fun... I highly recommend a trip to Hoover Dam, well worth the drive. Finally, I recommend wearing a sport coat in Vegas... dress up a little and you will receive a much better level of service. Look into a couple of guides to Vegas... you can have a great time and spend very little money if you know what you are doing. Have a blast!
