  1. Not that I'm aware of... but I've been known to take a little drunk on a Saturday night, so you never know.
  2. Excellent. See you there. I'm prepping for a Safari in a week or so. Hunting plains game along the Limpopo. Assuming I don't end up as lion food, I'll post pix when I get back. Can't wait!
  3. Agreed, but the folks at Stones River... for some reason, draw the line there... whatever.
  4. Yeah, It's a little hot to suit up in body armor. Only way I'll go to Cheatham.
  5. Perfect! Just called them and they said no problem. I guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow. Thanks Jeff!
  6. I need to find a range near Nashville that I can use to zero my .375 H&H Magnum. Stones River won't allow anything larger than a .338... Anyone have any suggestions?
  7. I'm with you, the Webley is on my list of "must have" guns.
  8. Same here. Thanks!
  9. That's what I was afraid of. Ah well, so much for the songbirds. Thank you.
  10. We occasionally practice clearing the house w/ airsofts and surefires. Good practice and actually a lot of fun. Have one person "set" the house w/ a few targets and you can run the drill starting from your bed. If you use paper targets, the airsofts will usually go right through so you can check your shot placement.
  11. I've had a hawk move into the neighborhood who is tearing through our songbirds like Micheal Moore at a Shoney's all you can eat buffet. Can I do anything about the hawk or (as I suspect) is it a protected species? Anybody know?
  12. Patton is probably my all time favorite as well. But I would have to add Zulu to the list. Great action scenes, all the proper military virtues and in the end, victory against overwhelming odds.
  13. Best - Outpost Armory (full disclosure these guys are clients) - Great Selection, very knowledgeable... they can get their hands on stuff others can't. Guns for America - Small store, but I love talking to those guys... I've found some really good deals there. Franklin Gun Store - Can be a bit overpriced, but they have a HUGE selection and the staff is very helpful. Worst - Gun City (Gun Sh*tty) - Awful selection, terrible staff and don't use the range unless you are wearing full body armor. It's unsupervised and very dangerous... I've had ricochets come within inches of hitting me.
  14. Think of it as evolution in action.
  15. The Godfather... one of the few 'perfect' movies.
  16. Congrats!
  17. Just watched the first episode... not bad. A bit grisly at points, but really pretty good.
  18. WD, let me know how tnboar goes. I haven't been there and am interested in giving them a shot.
  19. Caryonah is nice... good sized hogs, excellent lodging and great guides. Loshbough hunting lodge (full disclosure: they have recently become a client) in Crossville is also fantastic. They've got an absolutely beautiful area to hunt in... limestone cliffs, creeks, etc. The big advantage they have over any other lodge in the area is that they are the only one where the hogs are born and raised on the property. All the other lodges in TN release captured hogs into their hunting areas (nothing wrong with this... I had an amazing hunt at Caryonah). At Loshbough all the animals are born and raised on the property... I've seen sounders of 70 to 80 hogs at one time out there... Boars, sows and piglets all together. The accommodations are a little more rustic than Caryonah's but it's also significantly less expensive. Their old website (we're working on a new one now) is tennboar.com . Regardless, I've hunted with dogs in both places and whichever one you choose you'll have an awesome time.
  20. Make sure you keep those shoulder shots low. I've seen the bony plate on a mature hog's shoulder stop black powder rounds cold... zero penetration. The hogs pumphouse is a lot lower and farther forward than you might expect. If you guys are taking hogs w/ .22's, my hat is off to you... That's good shot placement.
  21. I reckon that'll do the trick.
  22. I wish it were a simple decision for employers. If you do allow firearms carry on the premises and someone complains, you can be sued for creating a "hostile" work place. In todays overly PC world, it's amazing how easy it is for employers to get hosed because one of your employees felt "uncomfortable". It doesn't even have to be a legitimate complaint, the defense legal fees alone will cripple most companies. Fully half of what our HR department does is help us thread our way through the nightmare of government rules and regulations.
  23. Congrats! Let me know if you want some company on your pig hunt.
  24. Very nice!
  25. And of course the classic:
