  1. Same here... in fact, KM, your old 45-70 is ready and waiting.
  2. I popped a large buck this weekend with a 295 gr powerbelt... 100gr of powder... 60 yards. It did quite the number on him... no exit wound, but plenty of blood. He made it 50 yards before he dropped. I didn't recover the bullet, but it did the job just fine.
  3. Nice. Thanks for the info... both well thought out and complete. Exactly what I needed.
  4. How do you think it would work against big game? Large hogs, black bear, etc. I'm needing a backup sidearm and the .41 Mag has been catching my eye lately.
  5. I haven't shot that particular SAKO but my SAKO 85 Kodiak in .375 H&H is an absolute dream to shoot.
  6. Blazing Saddles has got to be one of the most quotable movies of all time. "What in the wide wide world of sports is going on here? I hired you boys to lay some track, not dance around like a bunch of kansas city f---ots."
  7. I've had great luck with Northface products. Mountain Hard Wear makes some good gear as well.
  8. I have a PPS for my EDC gun. Disappears under almost anything. Shoots great as well. I'm not a big fan of the mag release, but that is the only complaint I can come up with.

    Rule #23

Charbucks is awful awful coffee. Overroasted to the point it's almost undrinkable. They do maintain and clean their coffee machines well though, so at least it's not so bitter as to be undrinkable. The key to making any roast palatable is having your coffee maker spotlessly clean. Otherwise the tannins build up and ruin even the best roast. As for best roast in the world... Kona is good, but Jamaican Blue Mountain (on a beach in Jamaica) is far superior to my taste buds.

Coffee is Life. My employees have been well trained over the years. They know not to try talking to the boss unless I've got a cup of coffee in my hand. I'm a big fan of dark italian roasts. I've been using the coffee roasted by Portland Brew - a local roaster here in Nashville. Prepared in a french press to exacting standards... it creates a brew that is at once smooth and eye popping strong. Wonderful stuff. Think I'll go fix myself another pot.
  11. Snazzy. Might have to ask Santa to bring me one of those. After all, I have been a good boy this year.
  12. SF are great lights, but overpriced... particularly when you factor in the battery cost. I switched over to the Streamlight below since it uses AA's. It's been through hell the last few months and has always performed well. Amazon.com: Streamlight 88033 Protac Tactical Flashlight 2AA with White LED Includes 2 "AA" Alkaline Batteries and Holster, Black: Home Improvement
  13. Excellent! I checked with Stoney on West End and they made it clear that they don't have a problem with legal carry.
  14. That is the most awesome example of redneck engineering I've ever seen.
  15. My firearms instructors taught me that there is no such thing as an accidental discharge... only negligent discharges. Same thing applies to bows. These are deadly weapons and safety must be of paramount importance.
  16. Check with Outpost Armory... I think they can do it.
  17. I was at On Target the other day... nice facility, but the ventilation needs some work. It got pretty thick in there.
  18. Wow. That guy does some great work. Thanks.
  19. PM sent. Thanks!
  20. I'm getting a couple of presentation 1911's for my partners this year and I need to get some engraving done on the pistols. Anybody out there know any good local talent?
  21. Nice one! I've had good luck avoiding ticks by treating my clothes w/ permithrin. That combined with generous doses of deet seems to do the trick.
  22. I've been using the 7D. Great camera.
  23. I use pelican / storm cases for overseas travel and have never had a problem.
  24. Awesome! Can't Wait!
  25. I just got back from the Montgomery County range. Fantastic range with fantastic staff. Howard at the rifle range is the MAN! Thanks for the recommendation. I'll try to post some pics of my set up a little later.
