  2. I got mine from SPIKES TACTICAL : AR-15 LOWER RECEIVER - World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools. Best price I have found besides Aim Surplus who is currently out of stock.

    Carbon removal

I tried two or three others and only Hoppe's was strong enough. I can't even recall what the others were. I had them for years before trying to clean the GP100, they might have lost some strength or something. I went to a gun shop and asked for the strongest solvent they had and that's what they gave me. My pistol is stainless, you may check the solvent website to see if it will affect blueing if left for long periods.

    GSG 22

Yes, the GSG5-PK is the pistol variant.
  5. I have always thought it was strange for small gun shops to not sell online. Seems like a quick way to increase revenue.

    Carbon removal

I have a Ruger GP100 .357 that I only shot .38s through. I didn't clean my guns very often (I'm better now) and the carbon in the cylinder got so bad I couldn't put a .357 shell in the chamber. The only thing that worked was putting Hoppe's solvent in a small metal bowl and soak the cylinder over night. It was still some work to get it out, but was much easier. I started with a styrafoam cup, but it was no match for Hoppe's. Be sure to use metal, glass or line anything plasic with aluminum foil.
  7. Looks great. Congrats on the new EBR.
  8. You can go up the food chain and buy 20,000 plus pieces of .223 brass straight from the army base. The trick is finding someone to split it with.

    GSG 22

Be sure to get the 22rnd mags. There are some 10 rounder mags floating around for the commy states.
  10. I do dry fire exercises at home. Place an empty cartridge on the muzzle and dry fire. Make sure the cartridge never moves. I also get a sight picture, close my eyes, dry fire, and then open my eyes to make sure the muzzle never moved. There are 100's of websites dedicated to trigger control, breathing, and grip. Those sights also help troubleshoot your grip, low left indicates anticipating recoil for a right handed shooter, etc.

    Different Ranges?

Check out Music City Tactical Shooters. It's an IDPA competition club in Dickson. They shoot twice a month and the President is active on the boards. They do all the ninja stuff. I have shot with them a couple of times. Good group of guys.

    GSG 22

Go ahead and get the GSG-5 it is a ton of fun and a real head turner at the range. Federal Bulk runs great as well as Remington Thunderbolt. Had some trouble with Winchester bulk packs for some reason. Does prefer to have some oil in the action to run smooth. I have the rifle version, but they make a pistol that looks like fun. Mine was pre-lawsuit too. Did they change something after the lawsuit?
  14. Hey man, glad you found the site. Don't forget about the CHMR shoot on the 30th. There will be a lot of local shooters there and plenty of evil black rifles from the looks of it. The link is in my signature.
  15. I bought some steel plates from a scrap yard a couple years ago just to see what different rifles would do. I had 1/4 inch and 3/8. If I remember corectly the .223 ripped through the 1/4, but only steel core penetrators made it through the 3/8. 7.62x39 ripped through the 3/8 with FMJ surplus ammo. We didn't have them on a stand, just sitting on the birm. No pistol caliber made it through either including .50AE. Most of the pistol calibers were reloads, so not sure if they were up to factory specs or not.
  16. That's the one I use for my G26. I have a Galco Skyops Tuckable, but I prefer the $30 Don Hume.
  17. I havn't shot an Aimpoint yet and was just telling my buddy I was consiidering one. Go ahead and throw it in if it's not to much trouble. We do need plates, napkins and plastic forks if you can make it. Let me know by Tuesday so I have time to get someone else if you can't be there.

    M4 issue

I have Magpul MOE on the M&P and a Daniel Defense Omega 7.0 on the Vltor. I'll try to remove both handguards and see what that does.

    M4 issue

I was thinking it would be Easier than that. The wierd thing is the Eotech can go on my GSG5 and has the same point of impact as the M&P. I guess I just need to put an Acog on my Christmas list.
  20. Yea, I put about 50 rounds through it yesterday. I have an extra set of stock and handguards if you need to borrow them for Saturday. Just let me know.

    M4 issue

I have an M&P15 and just built an AR with a Vltor Mur upper. With my Eotech sited on the M&P15 it's dead on. When I mount the same optic on the Vltor it's 4 inches low at 25 yards. I put the same optic on a buddies Colt and it shoots where the Vltor does. I would like to figure out why, but also come up with a solution so I can move optics between guns without resighting them in. They are both flat top ARs and I am putting the optic in the same position on each weapon. Can anybody shed some light on this?
  22. I'm guessing you have shot the pf9 right. There is no comparison.
  23. I had a 556 that I bought intending to swap out the 511, but I liked it better so I kept it.
  24. Yea went in pretty easy. Had trouble with the selector switch, but just had to take out the hammer and install the selector first. Is that the Eotech 511? Looks like the same one I have.
  25. Looks like a weapon used in Call of Duty video games. I would think it would be tough to shoot such a beast.
