  1. I think everyone needs a plan. I thought it was interesting to hear the plans of LEO's. I think as a civilian, my plan is to grab the bed side pistol with Laser/ light and guard the hall that leads from all outside doors to all bedroom doors. As long as my family is behind me and my pistol we should be fine. I'm not putting my life and my families lives in danger to run down stairs and protect a TV or clear the house. I secure the hall while the wife calls 911. Be sure you have a plan though.
  2. Your welcome. It was a ton of fun. I'm looking into the possibilities of a November shoot.
  3. Arrington certainly fits the country part of the question. Nice area and 10-15 minutes from Franklin. If you head south of Franklin to Spring Hill things are rapidly expanding there too. Fairview could be a consideration. Williamson county and convenient to Franklin and not to far from Nashville.

    Glock Barrels

I have a lonewolfe conversion barrel. It's 99% reliable, not 100% for me like others. My Storm Lake lead/ reload barrel for my g35 has been 100%.
  5. I'm in the blue shirt to redstategunnut's left.
  6. I'm in the blue shirt in front of the grill.
  7. That's a good reminder to not let your guard down.
  8. Glad it's back up. Now I can come off the ledge.

  11. We had a great shoot. Thanks to everyone for coming. Now let's post some pics and show everyone what they missed.

    Preferences?

I too would reccomend stainless. The upside to blued is it can be refinished if the blueing does wear.
  14. Looks like it would be a fun shooter.
  15. I dont think the OP is telling us he got caught. Only that he was in the court room watching others who got caught.
  16. About 15 minutes after you left last week a guy showed up with a full auto SBR M16. It was pretty sweet.
  17. Yes, I think we will need several. Thanks.
  18. Class 3 is allowed. The main thing is that all rounds land on the backboard and you don't shoot over the burm. I'm sure we will see the range owner. We'll ask him for the best place to shoot full auto. I saw an M16 out there last weekend and I saw an MP5 the weekend before that. The longest range open is 100 yards. The 200, 300, and 400 yard burms are not complete yet.

    Carbon removal

We used to put a copper barrel brush in a drill to clean some nasty carbon on M16s in the military. After a long day on the range we didn't have much elbow greese left. We were National Guard though.
  20. You can pick up some hot dog buns if you want. I think we are good on drinks and dogs.
  21. We need some paper plates. I think that will cover everything.
  22. The weather looks to be perfect for Saturday! We need a few folding tables to hold all the weapons. If you can bring one just throw it in. I'll have a table setup for name tags and collecting your 5 bucks. Try to bring exact change to make it a little easier. We will have a safety briefing at 11am, if your running a few minutes late we can fill you in when you get there. You still have a few days to stock up on ammo, targets, and clay pigeons. Just remember nothing is for sale at the range and unfortunately no pumpkins, just clay and paper targets. The range address is 2795 Owl Hollow Rd, Franklin, TN. Pull down the drive and behind the log cabin style home. If you think you might have trouble finding it, just PM me and I'll give you my cell.
  23. My guess is if they have the decal they don't care if you have a permit. If you find someone willing to do that tell them to just remove the sticker, because it's already illegal to carry with no permit. Welcome to TGO.
  24. You can never have too many pistols.
  25. I took a carry permit class in Memphis at an indoor range I guess about 11 years ago. The name of the range illudes me at the moment. Anyway, there was a women around 70 I would guess. She was a robbery victim and thought it was time to get a permit. She couldn't even hit the target without someone stabilizing the pistol for her. She borrowed a .38 from the range and told us that was her first time shooting. I had to rent a gun too, because it was the week before my 21st birthday. I turned in my paperwork and purchased my first carry gun on my 21st birthday.
