I always suggest 870 for first shotgun. You can even get a 25 or 26 inch and use it for sporting too.

MCTS is pretty cool. There is also Cole personal safety in Dickson. Took an Advanced pistol class last year and they were pretty good.

That's what I thought of when someone mentioned military uniforms are illegal. You should see some guys that show up at the local Airsoft field. They have more gear than some soldiers do. Most of it is mil-spec stuff. I guess the laws are not prosecuted for the general public, but for those who are found to be anti whatever the flavor of the day is. It's like getting a drug cartel on tax charges. If they can't find something to charge you with, then there is this crazy military uniform law.

Some states have crazy laws like no church carry for Arkansas. Just be very careful to check the local laws. It is definately worth the time and effort to carry.

If it's a state park and you have a permit the no firearms sign does not apply. Part of the legislation that opened state parks to carry said they did not need to update signage because of the expense. Signs will be slowly removed as they need replacement. Wish I could make the drive up for this. Maybe you guys will inspire a trip in my neck of the woods.

I just don't see enough savings to use after market mags. I used them during the Brady ban just because I could save like 80 bucks on a high cap mag. Lot's of people like them and I'm sure they function fine, but I'll stick with factory until I can't get them anymore. The ones I used were not Korean and not metal lined, so my experience was less than satisfactory.

I have heard good things about the P30 and would like to shoot one some day, but I'm a Glock guy too. Nothing feels quite like a Glock to me. I have shot plenty of 1911's and they don't do anything for me either.
