  1. Looks cool
  2. My first handgun was a P95. Great gun and often wish I had it back. More of a Glock guy now, but that was a great gun.
  3. I'll take any step in the right direction. I wish it said firearm instead of handgun, but I'll take it.
  4. My wife loves Ruger revolvers. She has a GP100 and an LCR. Can't go wrong with Ruger.
  5. I get the flu shot every since my four year old was born. I got one this year and got type A flu. It wiped me out for a solid 3 days, but better than the typical 7. My wife and kids did not get it even though I was around them. It seems like maybe I just got a bad shot, because they got the same shot and never got sick from me. The doc was surprised it was type A. He said most people were getting B.
  6. Post it on TGO and get at least double, maybe 3x that amount. ###.com is another good TN firearms selling/trading site. Stuff rarely lasts more than a day if priced right. Lots of trading too. Might just get what he is looking for on trade.
  7. My most recent AR is a mid length gas system, because it is suppose to have less stress on components. I have heard gas pistons have an even bigger impact on stress to components and are cleaner. The only reason I have not considered them yet is comparability. It seems like everyone is using their own system and parts. I wish someone would come out with one system adopted by all major manufacturers.
  8. Where did you get the cover? Best one I have seen yet.
  9. A cop would not give a weapon back that could not be sold. I would sell it to an individual or have a gun shop run the serial number.
  10. For entry ARs Smith makes a good one for a great price. I would start with iron sights and not move to optics until you get very consistent shot groups.
  11. I will say they have better inventory than most. I was trying to find some very hard to find ammo (6.5 Grendel) and they had it in stock. It was $5 per box more than online even with shipping, but I forked over the cash because I could not find it anywhere else.
  12. Right now I'm leaning towards a Leupold Mark AR 6-18x40mm. Not dead set on it, but that's what I'm leaning towards.
  13. I lived in Memphis when I turned 21.........need I say more? My wife had her permit for a long time, but never really carried it until a guy in a Franklin Kroger was looking at her wierd in the produce section. She quickly got what she needed and moved to a different part of the store and the guy followed her. He aproached her and asked for a cigarette. She said she didn't smoke and then he called her a few choice words. She was walking to the car wishing she had a firearm. The next day she let me buy her a Ruger LCR. She doesn't carry as often as I would like, but it's better now than it used to be.
  14. They are closed every Sunday and Monday.
  15. So far I'm impressed. The ammo is not easy to find, but so far I havn't had too much trouble. It's my first non 5.56 AR and I really like it. Of course, Sabre makes a top notch gun. Can't wait to see what happens when I put a decent optic on the thing.
  16. Just got my Sabre Defence Upper last week. Took it to the range yesterday and I was very impressed with the results at 100 yards with iron sights. It has a 20" stainless barrel, free float tube, and YHM BUIS. At the moment it is sitting on a Spike's lower that I built for a different upper. It will soon have it's own Sabre lower. Hornady 123gr AMax at 100 yards with iron sights. The top shot was first and the other three were the last three shots.
  17. I have a 27, 22 Gen 4 and 35 in .40. The 27 has a more noticeable recoil. I used to carry my 26 with no pinky extension and the 27 is a little uncomfortable shooting like this. I had a 23 years ago because it is a comfortable range weapon and a decent CCW size. If you want fun at the range go with the 23. Gen 4 does reduce recoil, but I'm not crazy about the backstrap thing. Feels cheap and out of place.
  18. I love that the guy at the start of the first episode said safeties off and some guy ran his thumb by the slide release on a Glock and you hear a click like he actually turned off a safety. When the sheriff first got to Atlanta there was a locked and loaded M60 that he ran past as he was running to the tank. Would have been a good time to set it up on the tank and go to town. I sure hope the first episode starts with a roof top full of weapons and they decide to clean up the city.
  19. Under the old law I believe there were restriction on the size of the sign and it had to have the TN code listed on the door. Is this correct? I once asked the Williamson County DA and he said they have a right to ask you to leave, but there was no penalty on the books. We got screwed on this one.
  20. I was annoyed by the daughter. Seemed like she was playing up the drama a bit for the camera. I think they went with the Saiga to say it had never been done. I would rather have an 870, but you would be limited to 2 3" rounds on an 8 inch barrel. Seems like the Saiga with 10 rounds might be a good room clearer. I didn't know Red Jacket was gonna be the shop. I have heard good things about them and it was cool to see they are a 4 or 5 man shop.
  21. Right. I think any training my wife can get to make her think about situations and surroundings is a good thing.
  22. Check out RAD Systems: Programs in Tennessee to find out about free RAD (Rape Agression & Defense) training. Franklin Police Department has a class coming in February. It's a 12 hour class that is given on Tuesday and Thursday for two weeks (4 days of 3 hours each). This is a list of all the training sites in TN. Franklin is free, but not sure about other sites. I'm excited my wife is gonna get a little bit of training. Here is a page with more info RAD Systems: What RAD Offers.
  23. How much extra was the Zombie Edition? I have a build coming up. Is this your first build? I just built out a Spikes lower and love it. I got a DPMS LPK with Magpul furniture for around $150 from Pallmeto State Armory. Best deal going at the time.

    AK advice

Here is a link on a Saiga for $729. Arsenal AK47 SGL 21-61 Rifle For Sale. I would go with that for the price. I have a Lancaster Arms Romanian Ak74 that has been great. The Aim Surplus ammo is corrosive and can be a pain to deal with, but shoots great.
  25. Worth the time and money or don't bother for a BOB. Any reccomended model? I was looking at the Solio, but don't know much about them. I'm thinking cell phone charger, recharge batteries, etc.
