We do have other options at our disposal. You can carry a baton if you take the security guard training and have a certificate with you. I got certified and carry a 21" Monadnock in my vehicle at all times. The main reason is on my drive to and from work. I'm not allowed a firearm on company property, but a baton is not addressed. All the gun buster signs around town do not apply to a baton. I do need to get some further training in its use, but I am very confident I can apply a nonlethal blow to stop an attacker. They also sell lightweight 16" batons that you could carry in a pocket or purse. It's not my weapon of choice for an attacker, but its an escalation of force without having to live with killing a misguided teen or some other attacker. 39-17-1307. Unlawful carrying or possession of a weapon. (a) (1) A person commits an offense who carries with the intent to go armed a firearm, a knife with a blade length exceeding four inches (4″), or a club. 39-17-1308. Defenses to unlawful possession or carrying of a weapon. (a) It is a defense to the application of § 39-17-1307 if the possession or carrying was: (8) By a person possessing a club/baton who holds a valid state security officer/guard registration card as a private security officer/guard, issued by the commissioner, and who also has certification that such officer has had training in the use of club/baton which is valid and issued by a person certified to give training in the use of clubs/batons; (9) By any person possessing a club/baton who holds a certificate that the person has had training in the use of a club/baton for self-defense which is valid and issued by a certified person authorized to give training in the use of clubs/batons, and is not prohibited from purchasing a firearm under any local, state or federal laws;

I would say ask Zimmerman. A good shoot can quickly become a nightmare for you if the wrong people decide to make a fuss. Think about the perception of great bodily injury or death. Punched in the nose is not "great bodily injury", unless the attacker is a big guy and the victim is a women, child, elderly, etc. I had a DA tell me that he felt you can use deadly force to protect your weapon from getting into the hands of an attacker. He was very clear that not all DAs will agree.

Make sure you get the right permit and license

Why has the Lacey Act only applied to conservative companies and now a hunter? Seems like they drudged this act up to prosecute people who don't think like the current administration does. Why didn't they just give him a citation for an incorrect license and suspend his hunting rights in Kansas. I don't see where this is a federal issue and certainly not a felony. -

I found some Davis paint company dealers. Are you looking at Davis or someone else? Got my mold in today. Got a long weekend with the wife and kids away. Might be a good time to do some casting. -
Eric Holder on IRS Scandal Said "I don't know" 57 Times

Even if he did know, I'm certain the criminal in the White House would enact executive privilege. Why have hearings and trials if nobody pays a price for wrong doing? -
I always choose a Glock if its an option. I have had Rugers, H&Ks, and Sigs in the past. Several years ago I sold all semi autos that are not Glocks. I'm a "dime a dozen" armorer and just don't feel like there is a need for anything else. I did break my Glock only policy and pick up a Sig Scorpion 1911 a few months ago though.

is partial view from under shirt legal?

I was in a class with the Williamson county assistant DA a few years ago. His take is that TN decided on open carry so people didn't go to jail for printing or occasionally showing a concealed weapon the way some commie states do things. -
I would probably contact Bushmaster first. Sounds like the store will take care of it though. Best of luck.

The new bushmaster carbon rifle comes with a red dot optic. I didn't see any markings on it. That's the only AR I'm aware of that comes with a red dot.

Taking a look at powder coating. Could still make the bullet for under 2 cents each. Found this guy using paint with a harder and seems to have similar results with an easier process. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uiFxAPtx4c0 -
Looks like Liberty Custom Leather doesn't do cowboy rigs anymore.

Considering going full geek with a full on cowboy rig.

Looking to get a holster for my Ruger Super Redhawk 44mag. Not sure if it's gonna have a scope in the near future, but looking for opinions on a holster. Looking to pick one up for a camping trip next weekend, so need to make a fast decision. Should I go with a shoulder holster, cross draw, or traditional? What do you carry for hunting/ hiking with a serious revolver?

Morgan County Correctional Complex, Stopped from taking pictures, deleted.

Do correctional officers have any authority over Joe Blow not in prison? I seriously don't know. They have a badge and gun, but does that give them jurisdiction over me? Are they regular officers just assigned to prisons? -

Here is a company that sells gun lube with 13% pig fat. http://silverbulletgunoil.net/ They say it works well in full auto platforms. Wonder if we should do a group buy to send some to our brothers in harms way around the globe. Direct from their home page: "SILVER BULLET GUN OIL, is a HIGHLY EFFECTIVE Counter-Islamic terrorist force multiplier. SILVER BULLET GUN OIL was designed specifically to put Demoralizing FEAR and TERROR into SUPPOSEDLY "Fearless" Islamo-Fascist terrorists. It was created with the "TRUE BELIEVER'' in mind. According to the Koran, Allah states, "Any of my followers contaminated by swine at the time of his death will be denied entry to my paradise forever, I HATE THE STENCH OF SWINE." -
I think Hoarding is what people do after an ammo crisis begins. Stocking is the same thing, just before the ammo crisis begins. I wouldn't put a number on it because it all depends on what you are "stocking" for. Are you stocking for going to the range or for resisting the placemet in DHS internment camps?

Yep. Took me 3 days with chip. Called him 6 months later because the BATFE said they wanted an assignment page instead of a schedule A and he had it to me within the hour.
