  1. This is the first time I can remember being disappointed with Marsha Blackburn. Is this a big enough deal to start campaigning against her or does she deserve a second chance? There were only 22 Republicans to vote no in the house.
  2. The armory is a no-go. There is no way the commander in charge will leave the light on for you. I was in the guard and it is correct that no ammo is left on sight. They don't keep the weapons in the lobby either. First there is a metal door to get into the supply room. Not impossible, but not easy to open. Next is the vault that the weapons are in. This is the impossible one. Next is the lock that holds the weapons in the rack. Again, not impossible but not gonna be easy. Lastly you would need to contend with a smaller safe that houses the bolts, yes bolts are locked separately from the firearms. They also don't typically keep food like MRE's on site. That stuff is delivered for the weekend or training event at hand.
  3. Well put. I heard Marsha on Delgeorno (or however he spells it) this morning. Just heard a minute since that guy annoys me. She said the same old crap. It's the best we could get, I didn't like it either, it's a stepping stone, blah, blah, blah.
  4. I predict this thread will be locked in 5....4..... 3.....2......
  5. Yep, it's all I need for a range. If that guy wants to attract $800 members he may need to up his daily to $20-25/ day with like every other Tuesday $10.
  6. I have read One Second After, Lights Out, and Patriots. All great reads. A show to check out along the same lines is Jericho. We watched it on Netflix, but I'm sure it's available on other sites.
  7. If it's outside the city, I am not aware of any limitations on shooting there. I have been kicking around the idea of some shooting/ camping land in Hickman county. Thinking about the same 5-10 acres.
  8. My buddy loads my SS109s with WC846 as well. We found some surplus pulled 62gr penetrators for $70/1000. Not gonna be match ammo, but should punch a nice hole in a zombie should the time come. I'll find out what his load is with WC846.
  9. I wouldn't call 63 replies fizzle. We are just waiting for our first meeting. Let's set a date and make it happen. Just went back to count. We have 18 enthusiastic Williamson County "I'm in's". Sounds like a team to me.
  10. Read the ratings before purchasing. Top 9 of 10 are 1 star.
  11. My guess is the primer would ignite inside the barrel from heat. It could cause all kinds of problems. I'm sure if it can be done it's somewhere on YouTube.
  12. I was told the same thing when I had one jagged hole. Then one of the instructors stood over my shoulder while I was shooting to make sure I shot faster.
  13. Who puts their holster on and forgets to put a gun in it?
  14. My brother has been in 3 convoys hit by IEDs. I say run em down if they have to.
  15. My wifes range gun is a GP100. She alternates practicing with pulling the hammer or DA. Her carry gun is a Ruger LCR. No hammer. I was referencing using a revolver in single action for the range not for defense. And yes, I have tried to nudge her to a semi especially a Glock. It's a no go and I'm just happy that she carries semi regularly now.
  16. When I added a mag tube I had to change my plastic plunger round pusher thingy (yes im certain that is the official name) to aluminum. It wouldn't cycle with the old one in the extended tube.
  17. At least we still have Santa and the Tooth Fairy.
  18. There is no set reciprocity, but if the state has a certification rule that does not specify their state for getting certified than it might be ok. I don't take a chance taking it to any other state.
  19. It's Obama's new American Dream. Don't work hard all your life, don't sacrifice anything and the backs of those who did will be broken for you.
  20. I wouldn't teach that for defense. If the trigger is a problem try a revolver so she can shoot some with pulling the hammer for smoothest shorter trigger. My wife prefers revolvers for this reason.
  21. I love the last one. Coat is opened in cold weather for quick access to gun or closed in warm weather to conceal it. I do tend to check my 5 O'clock shirt tail when getting up from a seated position to make sure it still conceals.
  22. There was a day when I laughed at such notions......that day has passed.
  23. All this time I thought we were talking about actual zombies. It feels like the first time I found out the Easter bunny wasn't real.
