  1. I have been guilty of staying out of the primary and just vote for whoever the republicans can muster.....and then there was McCain. I'll be paying attention to this one. Are there any candidates that are being supported widely by the Tea Party besides Bachman?
  2. I'm starting to see that Mitt doesn't have much that I can agree with. Am I missing something? He appointed liberal pro-choice judges? He is saying Obama care was right for Massachusets? He won't answer the question of can government force people to buy insurance. Why is he even on the republican ticket?
  3. Sorry, no .45 Colt. I thought you were talking about malt liquor there for a second.
  4. Seems like booby traps that hurt someone are illegal. I guess they could call it vandalism tspray someones car with paint, but it's likely a crime that will not get reported. My father-in-law had his mail box smashed twice before he mounted a "T" post next to it. He put a yellow newspaper delivery box from his towns news paper even though he doesn't subscribe. It has not been hit since installing the post. He put the newspaper box on so it doesn't look like he is just protecting his mailbox from punk kids.
  5. Being the father of two girls I would like to commend the father with incredible restraint. He is a better man than I am!
  6. Cost is $5 per person for non members and free for members. The bad thing is he books up pretty quick for the private side.
  7. I was in L.A. during the riots. My dad and some men in our building ran some guys off the property with a couple .22s. My dad just had a single shot bolt action, but it scared the crap outta the bad guys and they put out the fire they started and left. I was only like 12, but that event stuck with me. I knew as soon as I could I would protect my family at all cost. I took the class for my permit two weeks before my 21st birthday. I applied for my permit and bought a pistol on my birthday.
  8. Pick a date. We can reserve the private side behind his house.
  9. So do we have a new NRA spokeswoman?
  10. The only shops in L.A. that were not looted and burned during the riots were the Viatnamese on their roof tops shooting anyone that stepped on to the blacktop of the parking lot. A single shot .22 is what my dad used to get some thugs out of our back yard and they even put out a fire they started. Both of those situations would have been very different if Louisville Sluggers were the weapon of choice.
  11. What if she punched the kid in the face? She was obviously crazy to start with. I think there is a place to "butt in", but not for a simple swat on the bottom.
  12. No. Just make sure there is no metal or aluminum. If they spot even one piece of either they will ask you to resort it. It's worth double or triple the scrap price if you sort it and sell it here or on Craigslist. Can be a pain to sort, but I found the sorting pans online that make it much easier.
  13. Seems like every financial news story reads like the first chapter of "Patriots". I have moved my 401K to bonds to slow the withering away. Certainly time for those who have their head in the sand to awaken to our new reality.
  14. I took a group of 9 from my church to get their permit including my wife. It's a church of about 5000 though. The pastor did mention from the pulpit not to rush the stage because he was certain some members of the band had weapons. I don't think he knows most of the band members are in my men's shooting group though.
  15. Yeah. I'm not speaking for all units here, but the three I was a part of in my military career all had the same standards. I think the military understands if there is an absence of ammo there should be an equal absence of accidents. We had to either shoot all of the ammo we check out from HQ and prove it with the spent casings being turned in and weighed or we had to turn in the leftover ammo. It was actually a pain to turn in the leftover ammo, so we would have some privates load all the leftovers in some mags and select 3 M16s to dump the mags in. The upside was shooting 3 round bursts as fast as you could load the mags. Downside was whoever did the shooting had to clean that weapon.

    Shooting Low

I would say shoot the gun one shot at a time with the mag resting on a bench. I have or have had 6 different Glocks and I am a Certified Glock Armorer. There is no "break in" period. All mine shot the way they do today the day they were new. It is possible that Glock screwed something up, but it's 99.999% of the time operator error. The quickest way to tell is hand the gun to a guy at the range that is knocking the bullseye out of his target and see where he hits with your gun. The bench rest test should let you figure it out though.
  17. Yep. Carry as much as possible and get comfortable with it. The place that really gets me is carrying at church. I only remember one persons with large eyes looking straight at my Glock 27 under my shirt. I wonder what the pastor would say.
  18. You just wanted us all to be jealous of your boat and your dock. You have succeeded my friend. I wear SANDALS, not flip flops. Makes me feel lees like a girl, although I do have them in many colors depending on my outfit. Maybe I will keep some boots in the car just in case the zombies strike.
  19. Selling the seized firearms would be a great source of revenue for the department or the city. I think this one is pretty obvious. They could even have an auction with X% of proceeds benefiting whatever cause they want.
  20. My understanding is the sign needs to be at the entrance, although the minimum size requirement has been removed. I guess a microscopic gunbuster sign would be considered posted.
  21. Target's underware is made in Taiwan instead of China. I prefer Taiwan cotton.
  22. If you survive your AR-15 will be as important as food for survival. It wouldn't be pretty.
  23. The problem with transmitting on simplex to another radio with a handheld is the range is so short. You could try to extend this with a makeshift wire antenna in your pack. If there are no repeaters in the area, I'm not sure I would even bother to take it.
  24. Was the felony for shooting his previous wife in the head?
  25. It seems lately we get daily stories of stupid people. I think this one was murder.
