I'm not sure the cops are thugs or bafoons. I think it's a big misunderstanding that ended with a terrible outcome. Put yourself in the officer's shoes for just a moment. You ask a guy some questions who is not cooperating, tries to flee, strikes an officer. That's all bad for the cops. We have the benefit of known the guy has a mental retardation. I think I can spot a person with downes pretty easily, but it's 9pm dark and the guy looks suspicious. I might agree that there could be an officer on the planet that would possibly do harm to this guy intentionally, but I would be shocked if there was even one. There were two officers on the scene and both decided it was time to use force. I think we don't give our officers enough credit these day. In the same situation had the guy had a bag of drugs walking towards a school we would be offering them a medal and promotion. But because they made a poor assessment of his mental aptitude now they are buffoons and or criminals.

Just to be clear a pardon according to Wikipedia is: A pardon does not mean not guilty it means he has served his time, came to Jesus, etc.

I have always been on the side of more gun rights for all. Not this time. If I'm understanding it right the guy committed a felony served his time and was pardoned meaning guilty, but the state let him go. The only time I would agree to restore gun rights is if he was found not guilty at a later date.

I have an Echo1 Platinum edition. It shoots about 390 FPS out of the box. Most Airsoft fields have a limit of 425 FPS for AEGs (automatic electric gun) and that's what you want to look for in a rifle. If you buy a Classic Army or Tokyo Mauri you will be forced to upgrade the internals to get it up to speed. Most of the CA and TMs shoot around 300 or less FPS because Japanese field limits are much lower than in the U.S. KWA and Echo1 have the best quality and decent out of the box FPS combination. JG gives up a lot on quality, but they are probably the best budget ($120 or so) high FPS out of the box gun. I would find a field and play a few games with rented gear to decide what you want to buy. If you have a real AR15 than an M4 Airsoft gun makes sense but they do tend to be more expensive than say an MP5 or less popular model.

I did get the 700 on Monday. I may give Bud's another chance in the distant future, but it would have to be a pretty good deal for me. The other shop I went with was actually $20 cheaper than Bud's.

I tried to convince my wife to carry a semi auto. In the amount of time it took her to shoot five rounds through her LCR and get 5 more rounds loaded I had 21 on the target with my spare mag close by. I do carry her LCR for those times I'm just wanting a pocket gun or a quick trip to Walgrees.

If you use it for the wrong caliber, eventually it won't clean the .40. You can bend and compress the Brush enough that it won't even contact the barrel on all sides for the .40. I have one in each caliber I own.
