I always thought it was funny that you can have a fixed blade knife, but not a switch blade.

No, that is not a typo. Union City will be having it's first gun show that I am aware of this coming weekend. It's in the flea market building across from Walmart. $5 at the door and $50 a table for vendors. Saturday June 8th 9am to 6pm and Sunday 9am to 4pm. I will have Tapco AK mags for $10 and Pmags for $15. Look for the black and yellow TN Tactical Supply banner and come say hi.

I sell some Oakley Tactical glasses that are pretty cool and certainly less then the price of a pistol. Prices range from $60-155. Some of the ones I have in stock are Half Jackets, Flak Jackets, Fuel Cell, X-Matte, X-Ten, and probably a few more.

The difference is the guy in the wheelchair is assumed to be "in fear of his life." The problem with a warning shot is you must not be "in fear of eminent death or serious bodily injury" if you don't aim at center mass. Let's say a neighbor that I really don't like is walking his dog across my lawn and letting his dog take a crap on my walkway. Do I have the right to scare him and his dog away with a firing a shot? I think we would all say no. Lets take it a step further. What if a person is throwing rocks at my car. Can I scare them away with a warning shot? Again, clear cut no. The reason in both of these cases is they are not doing something that I believe may kill me. A guy banging or kicking my front door probably won't be able to kill me till he kicks the door open. The soldier in this case was not in fear for his life because he discharged his weapon away from the bad guy and not at him. All the cases being sighted in this thread reference a bad guy being shot at, assuming the person holding the gun was in fear of his or her life. Not sure the folks in Oregon would have an done it differently if the title of the article was "Felon Shot Dead by veteran", but I think that would have changed things a bit.

Would like to hear more about the acetone powder coating. I picked up some powder coat at Harbor Freight Saturday to give it a try. Doesn't seem to be much info about the process online. -
Still selling for $45 per box of 325 at the Nashville show. I saw 500 round boxes at $65 with non sold that I could tell.

Yep, glad to see some common sense these days. Looks like everyone handled it as it should be. Even the old guy. Sucks he fired at police, but I'm guessing his hearing is not great and truly feared for his life. Glad they retreated and made contact versus opening fire like so many similar stories on the web.

Good job. My kind of story.

Ok. After seeing some of the links on his googled email I agree. Good catch and glad you posted here to call him out. Seems like he is trying to go after military guys. Might be worth sending to the ATF or FBI. Looks like his other posts are offering to ship class 3 to the door of the buyer. Some posts are wondering if he IS ATF trying to bait someone.

I pay $25 a bucket locally and got 93 pounds of useable lead from my first bucket. I was pretty happy with it.

It's an upper.... not a firearm.

I'm still not convinced its a scam. How are you making a connection between this guy and the others? Am I missing something? He took stock photos. Doesn't mean fraud, just too lazy to take his own photo of an identical item.
-
Google his email address and see if anything negative comes up.
-
Ask him for a picture of something specific. Closer look at the BCG next to the rifle, etc. something specific enough he would need it in hand.
-
At the point the guy was breaking in he was damaging property. No risk of life or serious bodily injury occurred until the door or window was breeched by the intruder. No mention of the BG having a gun, so I tend to agree. Not justified in pulling the trigger. Tough call for the good guy and tough call for the cops too.

300 Blackout Bullets Available at Midway 125gr SMK
bigwakes replied to bigwakes's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Yeah, I knew about not shooting lead. I ordered a Liberty Mystic can a few weeks ago. It hasn't been transferred to my dealer yet. It's a take down can that has great reviews for the 300 blk. I have a .45 Osprey, but its not take down either. Any chance a .45 diameter can would be safe for lead until the Mystic gets here? I have a few thousand 175gr SMK pulled bullets I got from David on the forums. Thats what I have been loading lately. They cycle fine, but hoping to find a solution for shooting subsonic cast for less the a nickel a round. -

That would be really cool. Let me get to work on casting and I'll be in touch. I have a suppressor that does not take down. Would the powder coating be suppressor safe? -

I just cast my first batch of ingots this weekend. I have 150 pounds of lead ready for the mold. I only have the Lee mold that you said wouldn't do so well. I may practice casting with those a bit this week till I can get a better mold. -
And, another one followed me home. My wife wants me to let it go.

That looks very cool. I have a 10/22 Charger, but I like the idea of a bolt action. -
Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
bigwakes replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think it's all made up. This is the Trayvon that was brutally murdered by a white Hispanic. Why did this little boy have to pay such a big price just for wearing a hoodie? -
Obama maybe the most successful President EVER
bigwakes replied to JG55's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
What a joke. Obama will go down as the first president in US history to not protect America or care about her well being. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Benghazi_attack The first president in US history to give fighter jets to our biggest enemy http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/04/11/us-gives-4-more-f-16-fighter-jets-to-egyptian-government/ The second president in US history to not hold those accountable that have attacked us. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Cole_bombing http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Benghazi_attack And the 44th president that has a problem telling the truth or doing what he says he will do. Closing Guantanimo, being transparent, putting people back to work, letting you keep your current healthcare plan, holding people in his administration accountable for wrong doing....feel free to add to the list. -

I have taught numerous safety and shooting classes for my church for free. If there is someone around church or work that you know is former LEO or competent shooter ask them to take you to the range and teach you the basics. Most guys love to teach what they have learned over the years. It's really the kind of thing you need to pick up actually shooting with people that know what they are doing, not necessarily a 4 hour class and then you are good to go.

Just solder some wires to the cap and use this with a little duck tape. You can mount it to your pistol grip up front for a momentary on switch.
