  1. Why is target practice in a Post Office considered attempted murder? Maybe he was there to dispatch a fax machine that pissed him off.
  2. When I first carried I had similar concerns. I had a Glock 23 in a cloth $6 Uncle Mikes IWB holster, so I carried with no round in the chamber. I got so nervous about it that I switched to an HK USPc so I could have a safety. Then I figured out if the trigger is covered with a good holster there is nothing to worry about. I have now carried Glocks for over 10 years without worry or issue. One precaution I take is I never put the pistol into the holster while it's in the waistband. I always pull the holster out insert the pistol and put the entire holster with gun back in place. Call it paranoia or watching too many YouTube videos, but I prefer caution over pain. I guess my point is that if you want to be cautious about accidents there is more than one way to do that. I will always carry JHP in my carry weapon for all the reasons listed in this thread.
  3. Nope. It's never been done and there are no YouTube videos to look at the results.
  4. Hind sight is 20/20, but he is lucky he didn't get shot by someone trying to save the world with his new HCP.
  5. A gold Desert Eagle .50 AE?
  6. I still believe the intent of the law is for all entrances to the property to be posted. I'm not sure that a sign in the driveway satisfies this requirement.
  7. We have had some issues with ants over the years and our bug guys got tired of being called. They did a treatment around the house that puts a chemical in the ground that "causes mushrooms to grow on the ants head" according to the bug guy. We have yet to see an ant after the treatment. He told me it was a chemical that was discover in the rain forest. I thought he was pulling my leg!
  8. Centerville PD carry a Beretta PX4 in .40. I was at the 911 center when an officer was more than willing to pull his loaded firearm to show it to me and wave it around the room.
  9. I put together a group of friends to get their permit and made sure my wife's schedule was clear that day. Since I got 9 people to go together the instructor let me come and shoot on the line too. I think it made my wife a little more comfortable having some familiar faces.
  10. My wife ha sa Ruger LCR. It's light weight and has a great trigger. You can load it with very light .38 rounds to take the recoil down a bit. It would hit harder than a .32 or .22, but with light loads could be pretty comfortable.
  11. Take her to the range and go though the test using the large silhouette. Maybe if she sees how easy it is she will do it.
  12. I would do it about all the wonderful things Obama has done for our country with a VERY sarcastic slant on the topic.
  13. I had a USPc .40 Variant 1 and really liked it. I carried cocked and locked as another poster suggested. I have fired the LEM and don't like the feel.
  14. I have participated in 5Ks, half marathons, and even a 198 mile endurance race. They are always more fun to run on the road than around a mall. I think races happen a few times a year in Franklin. The frustrating thing for me is closing downtown 6-8 times a year for all the festivals that last an entire weekend.
  15. Play stupid games win stupid prizes. The idea of consequences was the only thing that kept me away from weed and other drugs in college. I was terrified I would ruin my life. That's also what made me stay away from dating girls younger than 18 once I was of age. If we make the consequences less then we would have more people willing to take the chance. Reducing consequences is not the answer.
  16. It was much smaller than I expected. A commercial on the radio claimed it would be the largest gun show in TN. It's about a third smaller than Nashville.
  17. Any chance you'll let me buy you a box of ammo or a firearm too?
  18. Made for an interesting discussion. Seems like all the Dems can say is let's create jobs and not address any other issue.
  19. When I was in high school I was cruising with 4 other under age guys in a Dodge Avenger (4 seater). We were all between 16 and 19 years old and everyone including the driver had been drinking. We picked the 5th guy up at his Subway job around midnight and topped off a Subway cup with Mad Dog 20/20 before we threw away the bottle in the restaurant trash can. That was the only alcohol in the vehicle and all the empties were pitched. As soon as we back out of the spot a cop blue lights us, walks straight to the driver window, reaches in and takes the keys out of the ignition. He said "if you have been drinking any of what I smell you ain't going anywhere tonight." Needless to say we were all about to crap our pants. As soon as the lights went on I told everyone to "deny to the end!" it was what an older guy used to tell us that was a habitual DUIer and usually bought our booze. The cops got each one of us out of the car and searched the car including the trunk. The only liquor was in my buddies cup that he held the whole time. They had each one of us breath in their faces and about three more patrol cars showed up. We denied even with the cops saying they knew we were drinking and basically scaring the crap out of us. This time deny till the end paid off. They let us all go. I absolutely could not believe it. I suspect they knew and just wanted to scare us. Mission accomplished!
  20. I agree. I need at least one Glock per non-Glock firearm in my safe.
  21. Here is a farm in Orlinda, TN selling to the public. Windy Acres Organic Farm | Grass-fed Meat and Certified Organic Grain, Orlinda Tennessee
  22. My last lower purchase was for 3 lowers. 2 are currently rifles and one sits naked in the safe. That will likely be my pistol build, but how in the world can anyone track which one went to a pistol build or was previously a rifle?
  23. Right! Like all the Muslims, Jews, and atheists that celebrate CHRISTmas.
