Resident wants to recall Oak Ridge mayor - Oak Ridge, TN - The Oak Ridger I hope it gets some traction. He is very anti 2nd Ammendment, voted to opt-out of Park Carry. If we could replace him and the police chief, this town might become bearable again.

Can this guy get ANY more stupid?

I believe there needs to be some middle ground here. People should provide proof of citizenship to get healthcare, however I realize that there may be occasions where you may not have proof at the moment. In cases of an emergency, I don't think anyone should be turned away. This is just showing human kindness. I mean if someone has a broken leg we shouldn't say "Sorry no ID, we can't fix you up, now run along". But if you need cancer treatment you should bring your ID with you, or if you need antibiotics for a cold, I don't think it unreasonable to require you to go get your ID. I for one never leave without ID of some sort. I mean really how hard is it to carry a wallet? -
I think Austin's TN Firearms in Oak Ridge does the Baton class occasionally.

I had them something terrible on a porch on a house I was remodeling. We would take breaks from work and whack them with 1x4's. I thought there was only a handful, till we started counting how many we killed. We could kill dozens at a time, and the next day there would be just as many. I eventually rebuilt the porch, and used pressure treated wood, and painted it all. That seemed to send them off, but it is the end of their season here, so we'll have to see next summer. I did build one of those Carpenter Bee traps you can find on Google, but I didn't catch a single one. Made a good conversation piece though.

Mine is from the title of a song by Rush. Years ago I set up an email address using it, but AnalogKid was taken, so I just added an extra "d" at the end. It just stuck. Plus, it alwas seems to be available as a screen name. The irony of the screen name is I am a computer guy, and a better fitting title might have been Digital Man, another Rush song. But I like the contadiction.

I love the freak show that happens, especially late nite, at Walmart. I have a favorite saying to my wife when we run across some of these interesting folks: "They must not have mirrors in their house", otherwise they would have seen how they looked before they left.

Last time I was there (about a year and a half) a place in Fountain City had some. I think it is called Cherokee Surplus, or something like that. Just have a good exit strategy, the owner will keep you there for hours talking.

See, theres the thing, I was trying to be frugal AND get something that would stand up to some abuse. That's why I was looking at the MOLLE's.
-
I thought about the RUSH bag, but I really didn't want to spend $100 bucks on a bag I'll rarely use.
-
Was thinking about picking up a MOLLE pack for an emergency bug out bag to be left in my truck. I've never used one of these before, and was hoping to get some comments on them from some of the TGO locals. Looks to me like there is a frame, the main ruck, and an assault pack, as well as other attachments like sleeping bag pack, sustainment packs, etc. I'm not really interested in the frame. I want something that will just stay in the truck, not be too bulky and be able to flex around whatever else I'm carrying in the cargo area. Does anyone know if the shoulder straps can be attached directly to the main ruck, and just ditch the frame alltogether? I see the assault pack configured with shoulder straps, but is that pack really big enough to carry enough items? Looks to me like it might be a little smaller than a typical backpack you might find at Wallyworld. Any other comments?

Bet 98% of those pledges have already been broken and forgotten by each and every one of them. They talk about saving energy, meanwhile they are flying in airplanes to get into their limo's to go to some public gathering where the building will pump out massive ammounts of carbon emissions from lights and A/C. Blech!! -
Signs exactly like that one appeared in a park near my house(Cedar Hill park on Michigan Ave.). Wasn't sure if they were always there or not, as the sign post did not look like it was freshly planted. I never paid attention before, but I went on a mission this week. I wasn't sure if that was the proper wording or not either. The way it is written, it almost sounds like pre new law verbiage. I guess not

I hate comments like this. It's like saying, "I've never had a fire in my house, so stores shouldn't seel fire extinguishers" or "I've never had an accident, so I don't know why manufacturers install seat belts". Just because you are too naieve or dense to understand why I might want to carry one, doesn't make it a truth

Just take the pistols, leave the long guns home. You'll be OK. -

Maybe call the park and talk to the ranger. Ultimately he/she will be the one to arrest you if a long gun is discovered. -
We have one of the Bed Store's knock off models and I love it. It is really stiff at first an dtakes some getting used to. You'll lay down on it and sink in slowly for a few seconds, then find it difficult to roll over because you are in a you shaped mold with stiff sides. Feels great though. After a while the stiffness wears off. They say there are little micro bubbles that need popping for the stiffness to go away. We let the grandkids jump on it for a while. Of course there are other activities that break it in Anyway, I love ours and would never go back to anything else.

I bought a P3AT and installed the belt clip, but I don't care for it. I carry in my pocket and found that it was difficult to draw with the clip in use. I also didn't care for the feel of it inside my waist band. I ended up with a desantis pocket holster. It's made out of neoprene and holds the gun in place while in my pocket. It also sticks inside my pocket, so I can draw the pistol and not the holster. As an added bonus, It hides the shape of the gun, so there is no printing. I started carrying in my front pocket, but I also keep my knife there, and it kept getting in the way. Now I keep it in the back pocket. Took a little while to get used to the feel, and it's a bit uncomfortable to sit on, but that is where I kep it most of the time now.

People who take pictures of their guns displayed on top of their wife's flowery bed spread. Really?

Microsoft Outlook meeting notices that default to a 15 minute reminder, and people who schedule meetings and leave the 15 minute reminder. Had a meeting today two miles away from my office, Outlook pops up and says "Don't forget your meeting in 15 minutes". Had to run around like a crazy person and just barely made it.

A person would need to weigh around 1,450 pounds to have enough fat to stop a bullet. Although their body would be bullet-proof, they could still be killed by a shot to the head.

I carry OWB too, put on a cover shirt with a couple bottom buttons fastened. Mostly this keeps it covered, but if it exposes I don't really care, unless I'm at a stop light. That's the great thing about TN HCP, it doesn't have to be concealed. You can open carry if you like, but I don't recommend it. Also, my wife rides with me a lot and she keeps an eye on it for me.
