  1. Yanno, I've been saying this all along. They keep saying guns and alcohol don't mix. They also say that about driving and alcohol, operating machinery and alcohol, going to work and alcohol, dating and alcohol, teens and alcohol. Seems to me the problem is with alcohol, not the other half of each equation. Make it legal to sell only from a package store, where you have to take it home to drink.
  2. The yappy dog next door that barks at me non-stop EVERY time I go into my own back yard. People who think a conversation means they talk and you listen. Or always have a bigger better story than the one you just told. Posts with titles like "Big vote in Senate tomorrow" Becomes totally misleading, irrelevant and frustrating when someone posts to it three months later.
  3. Just reboot. A goot reboot will fix anything, at least that's what I tell my users.
  4. There are just some places a phone should not be used!
  5. snopes.com: Sears Catalogue Model Exposed Was it Zoot Fenster, "The man on page 602"?
  6. Joseph Kittinger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Holy cow! Kittinger is the man. They don't make em like that anymore.
  7. No, I'm not saying he should have stacked the deck like Naifeh did, but don't put people on there that clearly have an agenda. I mean there is no question how Naifeh feels about the subject. Let's pick people that can have a serious discussion and actually weigh the arguments.
  8. On the rare occasion my wife drags me to the grocery store, and I'm bored to tears, I start looking for the grossest things they have for sale. Just a little something to help pass the time.
  9. If each person who logs on to the computer has their own account, then you can set permissions on the folder to give access just to your account. When someone else logs on they won't be able to access the folder. Of course if they have Administrator privs, they can take ownership of the folder and reset the permissions. So you need to make sure you are the only Administrator. You'll also need to make sure nobody knows your password, otherwise, they'll just logon as you. You also have to make sure to log off or lock the PC (use Windows_key + L), otherwise they sit down at the PC and are already logged on as you. Another thought, many programs allow you to set passwords on the files. I'm pretty sure Word or Excel does this. Whenever you try to open that particular file, you get prompted for the password. Unfortunately, you have to enable this inside each file. Some program's passwords are easily hacked by a professional, but can easily keep out casual users like children or roommates.
  10. Yeah, I thought it was Williams who appointed members to the committee. If he was such a 2A supporter, he could have chosen a little more wisely. Look how Naifeh used to pick them when he was in charge.
  11. You will be amazed how many there are. I had them real bad on the porch of a house I was restoring. We'd take a break from work and go swat bees. You could get 20 or so in just 10 or 15 minutes. I kept thinking, that's got to be all of them. Come back a few hours later and get another 20. Repeat every day. We must have killed hundreds of them.
  12. LOL, that's pretty funny. Now it has moved up a position.
  13. Three men checked into a hotel room and were charged $30 for which they paid $10 each. The next day, the manager realized that the men had been overcharged since the real price is $25 for the room. The manager gave the bellhop $5 to return to the three men. On the way to their room the bellhop decided to keep $2 for himself so he wouldn't have to make change. The bellhop gave $1 to each man. The three men had now paid $9 each, or a total of $27. This, plus the $2 the bellhop kept for himself, makes a total of $29. What happened to the other dollar?
  14. Funny you should mention Dave Ramsey, he doesn't like the Health care reform either, as well as TARP, Cash for Clunkers, and automobile manufacturer bailouts. In fact he thinks that government should butt out and let people live their own lives, to success or failure. Here's a link to his thoughts on FOX news: Dave Ramsey on Health Reform
  15. Wow, not even one? Not even the guy this whole thread is about? Seriously? I watch Fox news all the time too, and I see doctors on there that think this is a bad idea. Hannity has interviewed some that are considering leaving their practice because it will no longer be profitable. And yes I said profitable. Everyone, including doctors and me, are in it for profit. It's not a bad word. There have also been college students interviewed who claim to be changing their major from physician to something else because it's not worth putting yourself in debt for $100+K for a job that will never be able to pay that off. Maybe you should watch the news with your Socialist filter off once in a while. It might be eye opening.
  16. Was thinking this might be good to go to and thought I'd share it...
  17. I was thinking it would be interesting to see every doctor in America band together and go on a one day strike against Obamacare. I would think a lot of the Obama-lovers may have a change of heart if they realize that their doctor may not want to help them get well. Really, what good is free healthcare for all if nobody is there to give it?
  18. There is a very funny movie called Ghost Town that inspired me with regards to filling out forms. There is a scene where the main character is going in for a procedure at a hospital and the nurse is asking him questions for a form. They were things like are you married, do you drink, etc. He refuses to answer any of the questions saying they are "not pertinent to the procedure". And it was true, nothing she was asking made any difference at all for the reason he was going in. I feel the same way about the census. The only reason for the census is to determine the number of people living in an area so as to be able to calculate the number of members your state gets to the House of Representatives. Whether or not I own my house or what race I am is "not pertinent" and they plain just don't need to know. BTW, I only filled in the box that asked for number of people living in the house and mailed it on. If they come to my house, I'll have my copy of the constitution ready and ask them to show me why they need anything else.
  19. At work, we all carry text pagers. I send out pages to coworkers like this.. Joe, please call Mr. Lyons @ 123-4567. Where the number is the zoo. in fact if you call the zoo on the first, they'll have a recording now saying if you're looking for Mr. Lyons, or Ms Byrd, you've been goofed with. Others I'm famous for.. Liz Onya - Number of Italian restaurant Lon Moore - Tractor Supply
  20. I agree. If you force insurance companies to accept pre-existing conditions, you have converted them from healthcare insurers to healthcare financers. The way insurance works is, you buy in while healthy, and the collective pay for those who get sick. Forcing them to accept pre-existing conditions will also force them to change their business model, which means premiums go way up for everyone.
  21. I use the F-bomb sometimes too, but I have enough self control to not use it in inappropriate situations. I don't use it when talking to MY boss, I don't use it at meetings, I would not use it if a mic was right next to me, and I would never use it in any sentance spoken to the (any) President. I just expect the people at the top to be a little more above the bar than that. I need to lower my expectations.
  22. Did anyone notice that the first question (how many people) was in a shaded box, different than the rest of the form? That really is the only question they legally have authority to ask. I filled in that one box and mailed it off. If they want to know if they want to know if I kive in a house or trailer, or what color my skin is, they can see for them selves when they come to my house. Anything else they can figure out from my 1040. I'm not answering anything else.
  23. If you don't mind the going back to the MOuntainHouse idea, my Walmart sells these backpacking stoves that screw on top of the little gas canisters. The whole thing fits easily into the palm of your hand and weighs less than a pound, even with the fuel. I think they are around $24 plus $5 for the fuel. Can boil a couple of cups of water in a few minutes. When your done, you can throw it in your bug out bag.
  24. I always wondered why no matter what planet they went to, the aliens always spoke pefect English.
  25. If you haven't done it yet, the Honey Creek Trail is the best hike in the BSF. It's got ladders bolted to the face of a cliff, caves that used to be indian dwellings, rock houses, a micro canyon, hiking up the creek bed, boulder scrambling. Unbelievable!
