Abdullah Abdullah, a name so great they had to use it twice! I'm kinda on the fence with Karzai, not sure whether or not I trust him. I've read some articles by an author I trust that says he is good intentioned and loves his country / people. But then actions speak louder than words and this election did look rigged.

I know a guy who had a little side business / hobby of collecting and selling skulls. He had several old top loading freezers and had raised colonies of beetles in them. He had such a nice colony, he would even sell the beetles as a side business to the side business. Anyway, after picking off most of the flesh, he'd leave the skulls in the freezers for a week or so and the beetles would go to work. They would eat it clean. Then he would take them out and he would cover them up in some kind of paste he made, I think it was like baking soda and bleach but not positive. He'd work the paste in everywhere, and then wrap it all up in kitchen plastic (Saran) wrap and let it sit for a nother week or so. This would make them come out really white.

Aren't they supposed to back in for a fast getaway?

There was a place in Knoxville called the Casket Store that sold them for way less than a Funeral Home, like $1000 when a FH sold it for $4000. The FH's had a coniption and said they were not licensed to sell them. Actually got an injunction for a while, but I think a judge ruled on the side of the store. Not sure if they are still in business or not now that the furor has died down.

Used to use it to supplement the limited minutes we had with our cell phone after cutting off the landline. Then we got the Comcast VOIP, so I did not need Skype anymore. Now we have neither, since most of the people we call are Verizon users anyway. Skype is pretty cool though. You can sign up for a free account and talk to people computer to computer. If you want to call someone's phone number, you have to pay for a premium account. You still have to use your computer to place the call, so you'll need a microphone. I bought one of those headsets that have headphones and a wrap-around mic as one unit. I also bought a little gizmo from Ebay called an ActionTec Internet Phone Wizard. You plug it into a USB port, then plug in your home phone and you can place calls without the mic/headset. If you use a cordless phone, you can walk around and talk. Your PC does have to be on though. I've also read bout Skype Phones, that will use a wireless internet connection, and does not need the PC. I found sound quality to be way less than great, but acceptable for general conversation. There was some warbles and sometimes a delay and an occasional disconnect.

I'm colorblind, so the red leaves just look brown and dead to me. I do enjoy the yellow ones though. My wife tells me they are not the prettiest, however.

suggestions needed for fun targets for inexperienced shooters
analog_kidd replied to seez52's topic in General Chat
I take old milk jugs and plastic coffee cans, fill them with water and freeze it. Plain old water leaks out and the fun is gone after 30 seconds. The ice makes an interesting spray every time you shoot it. The coffee cans spray ice upwards if you take off the lid. The lid from the coffee cans are fun to shoot too. If you lay them flat, and shoot an edge, they fly off like frisbees. -
Handgun Carry at Williamsburg, VA
analog_kidd replied to analog_kidd's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well, we returned from Williamsburg, and I thought I'd answer my own post. I did not see a single "No Firearms" sign the entire time I was there. I looked through the literature, and no mention there either. The entire place is privately owned, so none of the State / Federal rules apply. They do have several Taverns onsite, that sell food and Ale. Did not see any postings there either, but VA laws require OC for places that sell alcohol. We also visited Jamestown. Did not see any postings there either, but there are two seperate places to visit there, one is state run, the other federally run. Didn't want to chance anything here, so I played it safe and did not carry. -
Handgun Carry at Williamsburg, VA

Nope, just the ones in blue -
We will be heading to Williamsburg, VA next week for a little vacation. Was wondering if anyone had any advise regarding carrying there. Is the park private, State or Federal? Is is posted? Is the town generally carry friendly? Thanks.

They said Juice was going to be OK, no vital organs stabbed. I have a feeling that The fed lady is going to spill the beans to Opie about Clay / Tig killing his wife.

Two kids are in critical condition because of her negligence, and she's worried about her purse with the food stamps in it. Unbelieveable!!!!

My policy is to put the seat and lid down. If I gotta put the seat down, she's gonna lift up the lid.

Just use Windows Media Player to rip CD's you already own to .MP3 format. Get a 2gb microSD ram card, format it in the phone, then use a card reader attached to your PC to copy the .mp3 files into the appropriate folder on the card. Can't remember the name of the folder, but it is created automatically by the format, and it was pretty obvious. There is also another folder on the card for ringtones. Just copy .mp3 files in there to use as free ringtones. You can download a nifty (and free) program called Audacity that will let you chop out segments of the .mp3 to make a 30 second ringtone. You don't need a whole 3 minute song, when the phone goes to VM after 30 seconds. Just be sure to save teh 30 second clip as an .MP3. I signed up for the Internet and email feature. I think it was only another $10. I can get my Yahoo, Comcast, and Gmail email sent directly to the phone. Internet browsing takes some getting used to, but it's not unbearable. I don't use it for TGO, but for getting news and weather, it's OK. I've heard there's a hack that you can do to it where you connect the phone to a PC with the USB cable that is on the charger, and the phone becomes a broadband modem. Internet on your PC, thru your phone. It may void your warranty though. I love the phone! Battery life could be better, and it annoys me that the ring speaker is under the flip so it's difficult to hear. But, it does so many other things, it's amazing.

Just came back from Oak Ridge WalMart where I found a rare box of .380 (50 count). The clerck said they had two come in this morning, and someone bought the first box. Whoever you are, thanks for leaving me one. Unfortunately, they were out of everything else I was looking for (9mm, .22 bulk).

Actually, the new politically correct term in "Climate Change". We can't say global warming, because it is disproved by the cold winters we've had the lkast few years. But if you say climate change, well then it could go either way.

I read an article a while back that said archeologists are discovering remains of ancient civilizations in places where the Arctic ice is melting. Proving that at one time a long time ago, before "global warming", there was less ice and perhaps a warmer climate.

Congrats to TGO'ers in District 62!!!

I forget, was it the state House or Senate that had the very slim majority? If it's the House, then this should help a bit more. -
Hate Crime Bill passes House
analog_kidd replied to Wingshooter's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think in the eyes of the law these two examples are already different. The first would be first degree murder, the other is second degree murder, or a crime of passion. The offender would be prosecuted differently for each. -
Wait a minute! The gun haters have told us that thousands of them are heading south across the Mexican border every year and can be picked up at any gun show. Surely they wouldn't lie to us!

If you're looking for a good value, especially if you have multiple computers, get a subscription to MS Technet. It's around $300 and gives you 10 copies of Win7/64, 10 copies of Win7/32, 10 of each server version, 10 Office, and so on, and so on. You can download the .iso files and make your own DVD's. You also get the advanced releases of software. I've been using the official release of Win7 since August.
