Back in the 80's during high school, I worked at K-Mart. They had the Muzak tapes playing all day long. Mostly it was elevator style music, but I could recognize about 50% of the tunes as current rock and roll songs. Funny thing was you could hum along with the song, but not really place where you heard it before. Nowadays, they just play the current top 100 playlists. I guess it's all about playing to your customer base.

I have heard that the "Credit" divisions of car manufacturers are completely different entities than the manufacturer, and that the credit company actually makes more than the manufacturer. Don't know it as fact, but I'd be willing to bet that the mfg got the bailouts and not the credit co.

Can you move to Washington DC with a gun
analog_kidd replied to analog_kidd's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
OK, for sake of discussion lets say she is moving to VA, are there any hoops to jump through to move with a firearm? She wouldn't need to take it to an FFL would she? -
Don't know if you care, but they have a fantastic Archery Range too. Two different trails with several places with targets set up. They also have an indoor range, but it is very difficult to use. No FMJ rounds allowed.

Well that sucks!

Can you move to Washington DC with a gun
analog_kidd replied to analog_kidd's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
To be honest, I'm not sure which part of DC she is moving to. She is not currently a gun owner, but I was going to make the recommendation to become one. I can't see her caring enough to go through all the above. Thanks for the info! -
I was really saddened to see Half Sack get it. I really liked his character and thought they were getting ready to bring him inside as a member. Who knows, maybe he'll be OK somehow. They did bring back the guy with no fingers after the fire. We waited for weeks to see what happened to him. Speaking of the fire, if "Fingers" made it out alive, how about that Meth cooker guy? Wonder if he'll show up again?

I tried burning gasoline in one of my soda can stoves, just to see if it would work instead of alcohol. It does, but I don't recommend it. The flames went way higher than I expected, and there was a ton of soot. Really stinky soot. Do you experience this with your Svea?

Tiger Woods Seriously Injured in Car Crash

That's what I thought. Why would she have gone out ther with the club? -
I know what you mean, sometimes the theme song pops in my head when I'm on my bike. Then I pretend I'm Jax and get all bad-ass inside my head. Start thinking about getting tats and sellin' full-autos.

While I do think he's a little melodramatic, he says stuff that really makes me think. And, if only half the stuff he says turns out to be true, I'm scared :poop:less.

We have sworn off BB forever. Ever since taking the Dave Ramsey course, we have gone to a cash-only system. We never use credit cards, ever! Anyway, a few Christmases ago, we went to BB and shelled out nearly $350 cash on an XBox for my son. A week later we decided to not give him the XBox, so we took it back. We wanted our cash, but they wouldn't give it to us. We could get store credit or a check that they would send us in the mail to be recieved in 4 or 5 weeks. That put us way after Christmas, and we wanted to use the $350 for his alternate gift, which could not be purchased at BB. They said it was for my safety, because someone could see me recieve the cash and follow me out to the parking lot and rob me. I told them I could take care of my self and would take the risk. Sorry but it's corporate policy and it's out of our hands. No matter how much complaining and phone calls to corporate, they would not budge. Fortunately, not having the $350 did not break us for Christmas, but for someone with less in savings, it could have been a big problem. Could have meant no presents until the refund come in the mail.

B O Y C O T T!!! ALL restaurants that serve alcohol....
analog_kidd replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Just playing Devil's Advocate, but do you support everyone else's political goals through your own business? What if they said I'll never go back to Hexhead's since he didn't write letters in support of XYZ. He never hung a banner on his office. I never saw him support my cause on the news. -
Was looking for a good online game today and realized there are thousands of them and most seem pretty lame. What are your favorite online games? Was thinking about both quick playing games to waste a few minutes, or games that you keep playing day after day, building points or whatever.

Psst! Hey little girl, I've got a secret to tell you. I'm spending you're future, and when you're all grown up, you'll be my slave.

I vote in every election. I also make sure to study the issues and candidates before entering the polling booth. I usually get a sample ballot and make sure I know everything that is going to be voted on. One of my pet peeves is people who go and vote and don't have a clue who or what they are voting for. When I strike up a conversation and someone says "I don't know who I'm voting for as President, guess I'll figure it out when I get there" it makes my blood boil. If you can't make an intelligent, informed decision, then do us all a favor and just stay home!

B O Y C O T T!!! ALL restaurants that serve alcohol....
analog_kidd replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I may be misinterpreting some of the posts here, but I read a few as saying that if a restaurant did not send letters of protest or represent us at this last judgment, then they are against us and we shouldn't support them now. IF that is the case, my comment to that would be that these restaurant owners have a lot to do just keeping their business running. Why should they have to go out of their way to support our rights. If we wnat our rights supported, it is up to us to act. That said, how many of US went to bat for this particular issue? Did any attend the hearing, or even show up to the court house? Did any protest outside? Did any write letters to our representatives, or the judge? Did any contact the media and offer up an interview or a letter to the local newspaper editor? If we can't even take action when it is our rights in jeopardy, how can we blame a restaurant owner? -

analog_kidd replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
We eat out a lot, and when the law to allow carry passed, I decided I would not darken the door of any restaurant that posted. And with the exception of one time, I have held to that. That said, I don't think any of the restaurants we stopped going to are hurting now. I don't think they even care. I also agree with bkelm, the restaurants we have been going to, that did not post, have been faithful to me and respected my right to carry all along. Why should I turn my back on them now? -
Yeah, him grabbing the patches tells me he is not going to go Nomad now. I think they will all rally around avenging Gemma. Nothing brings people together like a common enemy. Remember what happened to the carnival child rapist last season? I'd say the future holds something pretty tragic for Zobel and company.

We're going to need all that income to pay for the taxes our leaders have in store for us.

One thing the OP could have done is gotten someones attention from the doorway and explained the situation. Either allow me to break your rule and come in to pay, or let me walk. Puts the responsibility back on the owner / manager.

http://house.gov/frank/pressreleases/2009/11-04-09-new-credit-card-bill-passes-house.html If this is the bill that the National Park Carry ammendment was added to that will allow us to carry in February, it looks like they are trying to move it up sooner. I seem to remember that the Carry part became law with the Credit Card Reform portion, since they were attached to the same bill. However, I can find no mention of the Carry Ammendment in any of my searches.

OPen the file in Acrobat Reader, adjust the zoom so you see the whole page, then press Alt-Printscreen. Then open any graphics program, such as Paint which is included with Windows, Google's free Picassa, Photoshop, etc., create a new file and press Ctrl-V. This should paste a copy of the whole Acrobat reader Program and .pdf file as a graphic. From here you should be able to clean up the image to remove everything but the .pdf file. If you have Windows 7 (or maybe even Vista, but not sure if it's in there) there is a nifty tool called Snipping Tool. Just bring up the file in Acrobat Reader, zoom to fit the whole page, and run the Snipping Tool. When prompted, outline the text with your cursor, press enter and it will copy the image into the Snipping Tool window, where you will have the option to save as a .jpeg file.
